The barbaric act of unclading the lady was uncalled for despite that we shouldn’t encourage the act of stealing whether from the poor or rich. Atleast the lady should have asked rather than stealing also the dumb so called pharmacist should have handed her to appropriate authority. You can only get away with it if you acted in self defence from threat to your life I believe. Even still this is Nigeria and you know our police.
Best bet, you catch a thief, collect your stuff and let them go, if not hand them over to the police, but be prepared to waste your time attending court sittings as a prosecution withness for few years.

I live in the western world and you can beat trespassers as long as it is self-defense. I agree that Nigerians go too far. Stripping is unnecessary but I have beaten a thief who came into my home. I gave the man a thorough beat before calling the cops.
I believe in beating thieves but I don't accept stripping them or killing them. I was raised to beat bad behaviors.
When I misbehaved, my parents would beat me. I maintain that tradition. Beating does not mean killing or stripping, it is discipline. If the thief goes to jail, he will eventually get the beating so let me have my fill before he goes to jail.
