RabbiDoracle:I am only worried about this 2nd quarter and the results that will follow it by July. Panic sellers might drag the market backward any moment from next month to July. I will still remain a 10% trader until the 2nd quarter is over. |

arduino:They should consider Julius Berger. Lagos State is a major shareholder of Julius Berger through Ibile Holdings, but it is unfortunate that most road constructions go to Hitech a company owned by the national leader of the ruling party |

Biafran4life:There might be some reason for this,I would do same if selling bonds is cheaper. You know the retained earnings are mostly invested in other securities. What if the bulk of the retained earnings is currently bringing in 12% interest and this new bonds are for like 8% interest? |

RabbiDoracle:I was referring to FCMB I bought in 2015 @ 3.15 >> sold 1.70, eterna oil @ 4.0 average >> sold at 2.10 All the proceeds invested in blue chips and other dividend paying stocks. Due to commitments, not everyone can monitor / follow events happening on the floor. |

emmanuelewumi:That was the hey days of Nigeria economy. When there was a country. That N40, 000 could also be worth N3 billions before the advent of modern Lutocracy. (democracy). When Nigeria National debt was negligible. When Agriculture was the main rock of Nigeria economy. When technocrats were at the helm. When tribalism was minimal. When Nepotism and favoritism exist only in the mind. When there was no civil war. When pa Emma was still negotiating with God on being born a Nigerian. I wonder if this generation can still see value in Nigerian currency in our time. |

ositadima1:There is nothing in DC financials to show that the company is investing the retained earnings in securities.. The latest result only showed that they generated a paltry 2.2b as finance income while they spent over 8b as interest expenses.

Godlylifeoneart:That was around 1983, a range rover was about N17,000. His annual salary I was told was about N12,000 but thank God for Coop Bank which later became part of the defunct Skye Bank now Polaris Bank That gave him a loan and the staff thrift society So the money was not easy at that time either. On the long run good investment will hedge against currency devaluation |
