This is an eye opener.

Please I have a question but I don't know if you have an answer to it.

I want to do a transfer of appointment from my institution(a federal university) to another institution which is a federal university too. What's the first step to take? With IPPIS in place now, do you know if that transfer will be done?

YES, universities are part of the recruitment embargo but most VCs never took it seriously and kept on employing despite the embargo.

My VC for example only used it as a convenient excuse for turning down some people.

He was always quick to whip out a newspaper carrying the embargo story, a notice from the Ministry of Education and an advisory letter written by the financial adviser to the university council (the bursar) on the need to pause employment because of the increasing personnel costs which will lead to salary shortfalls and with the promise to help the employment seekers when the embargo was lifted.

Lots of staff tried to get their people in and failed but 100s of people were still employed during the same period. The vast majority of the new employees had one commonality - same state and LGA as the VC.

I know this because as a HOU, many of the new employees had to pass through me during documentation and 5 of them were posted to my unit.

But now, IPPIS has changed the game significantly.... at least in the employment of non teaching staff by the VCs.

Unike GIFMIS which was domiciled in the individual universities and allowed new employees to be put on the payroll Iimmediately, it's different with IPPIS.

Now VCs must follow due process by seeking and getting the necessary approval from "Abuja" otherwise new staff may not be payrolled.

(The Federal Teaching Hospital attached to my university employed massively in January but till date, the new staff have not been paid salaries because IPPIS has not come to capture and enroll them).

Now universities can't rig the personnel costs that much cos FG has taken over payment of salaries directly. They cannot claim 1500 staff when they only have 1000. They cannot claim someone on level 9 is on level 12 while preparing their yearly budgets.

I strongly believe IPPIS will affect the way Universities employ going forward.

Even before IPPIS, transfer of service between institutions was a generally dificult thing to achieve so I assume it'll be more difficult now.

Also, you need high level & very strong connections to pull it through... . and it takes some time and waka waka.

A lecturer II in my university pulled it off mid last year but guess what? - her husband was the Dean of PostGraduate school in the University she transferred to, an ally of the VC and a personal friend to our own VC grin

From the little I know, you'll have to get a guarantee of acceptance of transfer of service from the university you want to transfer to then you take it from there.....

Talk to senior admin people in your university and go through your conditions of service handbook. This should give you some pointers....

Sorry to derail...

This is an online job which has been tested and proven by many international users. If you are not lazy to do a simple task then you can earn over $100 a day. They have different withdrawal methods. Just choose the one suitable to you.

You're not paying a dime.

Buhari did not give such directive that salaries should be paid before 23rd, it was just fake info circulated by junk news outlet (opera news).

Good news.
Did you observe any deduction for Covid-19 as it has earlier been rumoured that FG will cut April salary due to the pandemic?

Staff of the Federal Universities should brace for impact cos the Peculiarity Allowance that was paid to them in January MAY BE deducted in April's salary....

Federal govt can't cut salaries na, and if they do which is very unlikely, they won't touch health workers'. In fact, this set of people are getting huge sum as hazard allowance.

Why? By staff, you mean both teaching and non teaching staff?
