Igbo Izugbe is an inferior product that is foreign to the Omanbala Igbo and must be done away with. We are beginning to see the decimation of the product through music , movies etc. 1 Like |

gregyboy: Let me warn again Stop equating Anioma to Igbo. Anioma is an Igbo word and not an ethnicity. It is a coined word. Are you this daft with simple logic. A word of 1980's is what you are equating to Ndi gboo.... Be guided and stop perching around Igbo thread with useless Benin logic that we all doesn't hold water here....let alone stand the test of time. If you don't know terms to use read and pass because it seems you are just maybe In your early or mid- twenties. 4 Likes 1 Share |

IDENNAA: We dont have four market days We have different market days, we have ancient holidays too, and end of year celebration Every clan in africa have market days |
Re: Ise! Does Every Group In The Igboid Language Group Use It. by IDENNAA(m): 12:07am On Apr 29, 2020 |
gregyboy: The market days which used to be place of worship which later become the ancient Igbo days of week, were used by your ancestors until the Europeans arrived and you changed it to align with the Roman calendar. Now , you are claiming a common word nobody knew it's origin just like omi/mmili , okwute/okuta....i didn't see the Igbo or Yoruba claiming these shared words but here you are claiming heavens So, did all the words shared between southern groups also originate from Bini ? |
Re: Ise! Does Every Group In The Igboid Language Group Use It. by gregyboy(m): 12:31am On Apr 29, 2020 |
IDENNAA: Have you seen me claiming all the world belonging to igbo or even a benin person creating a thread for it The thread says the word Ise is fast becoming the general word for amen in the east removing the indigenous ones meaning the word ise was originally distinct from igbos Ise is a word shared by western igbos and edo we can only draw the conclusion its from edo Even if usa are world power today it will never rewrite it history that the British never colonized it, and had influenced over it But over here in nigeria tribalism will not allow the truth to be the truth Out of million of word in igbiod lexicon benin are telling you one was loaned from them You won chop me..... Like benin never once at onetime smell of having contact with any igbo at anytime in history Benin red coral beads are been worn today by igbos and other southern nigeria does it make it not benin owned |
Re: Ise! Does Every Group In The Igboid Language Group Use It. by IDENNAA(m): 1:24am On Apr 29, 2020 |
gregyboy: Firstly , the Op never said isee was "removing the indigenous one". He maintained he read a book where he saw a variant word in "Ofooo." An intelligent person who has studied the Igbo people may learn the people use various words from clan to clan that means same thing yet different in pronunciation. For instance , some Igbo say "kawo" , "daalu" , "imeela" "deje" ,"deme", "ndewo" and they all mean the same thing , thank you! You Nigerians misunderstand Igbo because of your own ignorance...dont blame us. The Igbo is the most diverse both in language , looks and thoughts. You cant put the Igbo in a box. First off, Bini doesnt have the clout to colonize nor influence little villages around them and this has been confirmed by the fact that they could barely retain their original tongue and no group around them spoke Bini. You are not powerful and you didnt control jack! Eventually , Igbo will replace your already extinct Bini tongue. The western Igbo are over 70% Anambra migrants , 10% Edo , 10% Igala , 10% others. They were probably and could be much older than you given their population. You developed a monarchy system and it ends there! Before Bini learned how to make coral beads we were already making beads for Nze na Ozo titled men using the reddish stones found at the bottom of Omanbala river....Our beads are more reddish and stand out....I will post it 1 Like

IDENNAA: Lol, the coral beads you have are new versions of the benin corql bead If you dont agree on this one I will have to request an early 1800 picture of an igbo man wearing bead Would you say this hand fan his igbo........ This is chief ezomo 1897 pics 1 Like 1 Share

gregyboy: You must learn the Bini people are relatively younger to the Igbo people, therefore there are many things you have no knowledge of. We have practiced Nze na Ozo in antiquity before you migrated to your present location and the hand fan(akupe), fly wisk , beads ,etc were nze na ozo paraphernalia. The reddish Igbo beads "aka" are made from a unique stones found in the Omanbala river. The hand fan and horse tail were being used way before Bini kingdom existed. The oldest horse You have been fed a lot of lies by your elders and you swallowed hook line and sinker. The corral beads are very recent because Nri has been using the highly scarce and expensive stone based beads. They are not common and you can only find them mostly among older Ozo men in western Igbo and Anambra.

gregyboy:All I can say is that the Bini’s popularized the bead. However, bead making was an invention of the Portuguese which spread to other parts of the south. But the Bini were the first Nigerian tribe to wear it by virtue of their trade with the Portuguese in the 15th century. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Re: Ise! Does Every Group In The Igboid Language Group Use It. by Nobody: 7:07pm On Apr 29, 2020 |
IDENNAA:Igbo people may be older than the Bini’s based on archeological findings. However, based on language similarities, we are from one family. Same with many other southern and middlebelt tribes. The major evidence that makes the Igbo’s older than Benin is the excavations from Igbo Ukwu. We may even be siblings - the YEAI group of languages and had once lived in the Nok valley before our dispersions down south. About Nri making use of the coral beads, you went ahead to show a recent picture as proof. The Bini popularized the bead and not Nri. There are evidence pointing to this fact. Show us at least a picture of an 19 century person to back your argument. 1 Like 1 Share |

UdechiHD: Again the Portuguese fetched the coral stones from the ocean and traded the stones with the benins, benins took the stones melted it to form Thier coral beads The Portuguese didnt didnt just already made beads to benin but the raw material for the bead The Portuguese also traded zinc and copper with benins which benins used in the make of bronze So all coral beads and shape was gotten from benin The southern nigeria adopted it after the creation of nigeria 1 Like 1 Share |

UdechiHD: Well , the excavation at Igboukwu proved my people(Nri and related groups) used stone based beads , fly whisk before the Bini kingdom existed. Bini popularized coral beads which were much newer ,around 17th century. But, before Bini kingdom Nze na Ozo reigned supreme....lmao You have nothing to fight for ,hence you are willing to fight dirty and discredit our greatness. The picture I posted was not to prove the time but show difference in the beads Hey , you can join Bini to attack Nri out of jealousy...cultureless bbastard! 2 Likes |

There's evidence to suggest that the Igbo Ukwu artifacts likely do not belong to either Nri or Igbo Ukwu. It's far more likely to have belonged to a now forgotten group or community that inhabited the area prior. |

ChinenyeN: Whether it belongs to Nri or related groups doesn't change the date of the artifacts. Its older than Bini and its found in Anambra. I dont meddle in your Ngwa or Abia matters...Do I ? Dont act like that post was the only submission that is worth your read. You people (Imo and Abia) are too small to bring the greatness of Nri down. You are too preoccupied with Nri matters...I wonder why |

RedboneSmith: I don't know about the python cult part. I don't recall coming across any notes or observations on the artifacts that revealed snake worship. Granted, I'm not thoroughly familiar with the particulars of python worship, so there might have been small details that I could not have caught while reading through their findings. |
