Una well done!!

My two cents on the discussions

1. The ONLY time you can change from a visitors visa within SA to from visitor to Spousal Visa ( married to a PR holder or SA Citizen) visa. Anything else na bobo

2. Any one coming to SA to hustle with visitors visa, please don't. Their people here are out of jobs and this covid ish has made the situation worse
Thanks Geenosko. Please will need to tell our brothers and sister truth about SA. Please don't come to SA with visitor visa to hustle. Thanks

How much in total? because I have someone there inviting me
And how do I get a permanent Work permit?
Please I need a suggestion
You need three things before you relocate to any country.1.money 2.information 3.Practical skills

Hi Edward. Yeme7 is right about something but not all.... Its really hard to get critical skill work permit from Nigeria and even study permit so schools would want some part of your school fees..... I will advice you to do a visitors permit and you can change it when you're in South Africa cause the new rules now allow you to submit permit with your visitors permit and i'm sure about it and you need to have money to submit your permit with you when you're traveling to South Africa cause your duration of stay will be 14days or 30days

Ok. Thank you so much

Scarcity of jobs everywhere ... Do you have practical skills to earn a living as self employed? 2. You need work permit or study or voluntary permit to make you legal in the country..3 . Pls don’t come here to hustle with a visit visa. I have see many Nigerians suffering here because they couldn’t lay their hands on something called job. Presently, I know of a guy who is mentally depressed now because he has nothing doing.... a graduate for that matter. If you must come here, look for a legal means of staying here with permission to work Cos the hustle is real here in South Africa.

God bless you guys, anybody encouraging you to use visit visa to japa to any country is not your friend. find a legal means to travel, work and safe for it, then execute your plan.it does not matter how long it takes you to get to your dream destination as long as its not a visit visa. Going legally gives you peace of mind

With Critical Skill Visa, the jobs are not automatic....you have to hustle hard to lock down a job. It can take as long as 2months to 6 months before you can secure a job with prayer. So far it's only IT people and those in medical profession has elements of luck in getting a job...other professions wait longer and some return to school or home or move to another country. There is no ready made jobs in SA....the competition for jobs is stiff....but it's not impossible. Dont even try with visitors visa, you will roam the street or join gangs or sell drugs out of frustration. Those are meaningful years wasted on the street.

You cant hussle in SA, SA is not design for hustlers, the citizens and SADC are the hustlers, unless you want to do Yahoo Yahoo. Unemployment is over 30%, mostly uneducated citizens who relies heavily on unskilled jobs, you cant compete with them....it creates xenophobic violence. Think about it before you take the step. May the forces be with you.

Hello everyone in the house, please i have someone in south Africa who left Nigeria 2014 with a visiting visa because the agent then told him he would change it to permanent residency when he gets there, since then, he has been extending his stay and last year, he started processing his visa so he could get a 3years visa(i don't know what visa category that one is) but it has been denied 2times already and those people over there has been collecting money promising him they would help him, the last guy collected 2000rands and the visa was later denied.
Now, the problem is that he wants to come home nd he wants to get the visa before he comes so as not to get banned.
Please is there anything that could be done?
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Shembe4life: 11:51am On May 11, 2020
He can leave the country without getting ban... Some South Africa immigration usually help on that situation but it would cost him money and he would need to get Tc before leaving and buy 1 way ticket...So when he get back home he can re package himself.

Dear Colleague

This is a kind reminder about the call for applications for the Disability Rights in Africa Master's Programme. The deadline for the applications is approaching and we urge you to apply, or send the call for applications to anyone who might be interested.

The Centre for Human Rights, University of Pretoria is calling for applications for the LLM/MPhil Disability Rights in Africa (DRIA) degree programme. The programme was launched in 2018 and is the first master’s degree programme in Africa focusing specifically on the rights of persons with disabilities in Africa.

The programme explores disability rights from a human rights perspective relying on the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) and the newly adopted Protocol to the African Charter on Human and Peoples’ Rights on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in Africa (the African Disability Protocol). It is open to individuals from diverse professional backgrounds including disability rights advocates, lawyers, researchers, social activists and educators. Students will be empowered to develop new legislation, jurisprudence, policy, research, and scholarship to harness the available innovations and opportunities.

In particular, students will be empowered to:

Challenge rights violations by drafting enforceable legislation consistent with the CRPD and the African Disability Protocol
Utilise enforcement mechanisms set forth in the CRPD and the African Disability Protocol
Take forward disability rights litigation requesting CRPD and the African Disability Protocol-compliant remedies
Engage in disability rights advocacy and
Develop law, education, or other academic curricula informed by the CRPD and the Protocol.
The two-year programme is offered through a hybrid teaching approach comprising online interaction and residential contact sessions in Pretoria. Two contact sessions will be scheduled every year (four contact sessions over the period of two years). The first contact session will be in March 2021.

The application deadline is 30 June 2020.

Applications can be made online by clicking the link below:

Good day all. I am currently a student studying chemical engineering in Nigeria. I have interest of pursuing a masters degree in South Africa.
I read about something on this thread where someone said that postgraduate programs in South Africa are almost free.

1. My question is can I have a list of schools that offers such scholarships.
2. And if there is any one that enjoyed the MasterCard Scholarship or is doing so currently... Please after the completion of the program, can one stay back in SA for work or must you return to your home country.?
3. for visa application, how much would be required for statement of account purpose?.
4. How much can I budget for feeding, accomodation and general expenses per year.
5. Would I be allowed to work part time even as a postgraduate student.
Please I would appreciate it if answers were given appropriately because prior to my posting here, I have tried Google search which was almost fruitless.

Thank you.
