You know why they won't suspend rather they prefer to lay off? Coz most of them will discover that some employees are not needed, they discover that productivity has increased or same even while working remotely this saving them more money. That's the sad reality

Reason is suspension doesn’t really mean much..it also means ur in a limbo .. ...because u could take d company to court ...ur not earning if d company is not paying and also u can’t find a job since ur contract is still not cancelled...it’s either u have a contract or u don’t ...d best they can do is to terminate ur contract but then promise u that u’ll be called back when things stabilize

Bro count your loss, and move on. This is Nigeria where exploitation is the order of the day. There's nothing you can do now, that's the case all over the world, millions are losing their jobs everyday, in the US 26million people have lost their jobs but that's not an excuse for the inhuman way you people were treated by the company. Don't fight it or approach any lawyer.

This is the normal thing in a country where there is no labor laws, emoloyers doing as they wish. This can never happen in Europe, see people are not losing their jobs like this in Europe. There's a furlough plan in place in which workers salary re being paid by the government until the pandemic is over. That means the government is covering for the payment of workers in different companies, this makes it impossible for companies to sack workers. But here in Nigeria, the govt no send you. Everybody must fight to survive. Na oyo everybody dey. Somuch for a shithole country.

Oga, face the reality and pack yourself together, if you need to apply for another job you better prepare your cv and start pushing it out and if is to learn new thing. Nigeria is a lawless country, forget about all this questions you are asking, the company has decided and that is the final.

If you are the MD of the company, will you even want to pay staff any salary, when your company is doing nothing? The company is not able to do business to generate it's money. Nobody ever envisaged this kind of covid-19 thing where the entire world is on lockdown. No flight, no hospital, no anything.
