I have checked the Charter Gidgiddy. Transit will be dependent of relations between the 2 countries.

Modified :

Reading further I understand there shall be no high handedness in such agreement. No duties imposed, no taxes imposed. All charges applied would be same as those charged in the transit state, nothing higher. Great!

(I think this Charter is just a bureaucratic way of saying "You don't own the water"wink.

Throwback you can turn down your volume now. You no get talk.

I am happy the stuff cited repeated the word "Landlocked".

While still letting you know it is your right to sail a river that is within your territory, but sailing that river beyond the boundary of your territory into foreign land because you want to access the sea, will be dictated by the political and economic terms decided by that foreign land you must traverse to get to the sea.

That Foreign land in my illustration above is Nigeria, or an independent NigerDelta.

You must humble your arrogance and seek mercy. You have no other choice.
And how the fuc/k is any of this your business that you spend the entire morning dragging issue with Biafrans/Igbos? You people are so evil and malevolent walahi!

So, you wrote all this nonsense because of one narrow irrigation canal?

You are right.
In some sense.

But landlocked in terms of no link to ocean.
That what I mean.
Alright. That's true. But at least your region is better than osu region trapped within Nigeria. They don't have access to anything, thus sticking to south south like parasites.

Okay, let's even keep the dredging narrative aside. How much do you think that would cost?

It's also funny That you guys are yet to realize that international laws are meant for nations that aren't allies to the Nato and nations that are weak. We may not be strong like Russia, but if you think a country like UK would pick biafra over Nigeria then you should go and ask for a refund.
River Niger is already international waterway nobody can stop Igbos to use it

What tone do you think is ideal to respond to an almost crying man who was held down by his wife, just because he could not control the hatred he has for Yorubas?
Which crying man? are we even talking about the same thing?

The blue lines are for the water bodies.

Besides everyone knows River Orange runs through Lesotho. Many other rivers and tributaries of rivers run through the landlocked country.

You can use the Niger river tributaries leading to the sea, just as the Nupe or Igala can despite being further upland from the shores of Nigeria.

However, you are at the mercy of the Non-Igbo tribes or Nigerian territory who are below you and who will dictate the political and economic terms by which you will be allowed exit into the sea or entry from the sea.
well as much as I don't want to argue much with you, there is a town in ukwa area of abia state which is a few miles from the open sea...it will serve same purpose like the canal in Egypt... Beside most of the people you call non igbos because of politics will alien well when the time comes.
In conclusion, the south east can not be economical land locked more than the north.
Therefore if not can survive, south east will survive times 50.
Thanks

This man, why is it difficult for you guys to be thoughtful? South Africa has been doing dealing with non citizens for over the years and nothing happened, and same with Ghana lately even Togo.
Hope these African countries are also consider as 'World Power' or UN regulators in ur categorization? SMH!
Oh please. No vague assumptions here. Go into details over how Ghana or Togo have been dealing with all non-citizens from a particular country like you are assuming here. We need to be very sure our disagreement is on the same subject. Thanks.

UN only fights for it's interests. What has it done about all the atrocities of US, Saudi Arabia, Israel, etc?Do you think they are immune to sanctions?

Don't you think Nigeria would havefaced penalties afterthe biafran war? The UN will not rescue you. Especially when they have the right to stop you from digging on ITS own waters.
US, Saudi Arabia, Israel.. None of which are countries at Nigeria's level of governance/existence.That's by the way.
You quoted a lesson on something called dredging. I hope you make clearer assumptions on how waterways can be expanded.
As for Nigeria diverting its efforts to ensuring 'a sovereign country' doesn't survive, there are ways of dealing with that I'm sure.

The hate you give, I give it back till it agonizes you.

It is my business when a crying Igboman is held back by his wife just because of the hatred he has for Yorubas. He did not stop there, he went ahead to create a topic and expressly stated his hatred for Yorubas, as though Yorubas are responsible for his lack of knowledge that Niger River crosses through Igboland that is linked by the very popular Niger Bridge.

So it is my business to defend my tribe when an ignorant crying Igboman cannot control his hate filled emotions, and typically blames Yorubas for all of his life problems.

See Lesotho below.

With all the multiple water bodies running through Lesotho, it is still trapped within South Africa, so it is landlocked within South Africa.

You now see why you are a parasite to the SouthSouth and why you need them so badly?

It's not just about oil. You need them to break along with you so you share their access to the sea and to international border with Cameroon. Or you need them to break out on their own, so that you would share a border with them, and not be trapped within Nigeria.

I hope your ignorance has been cured.

You can now open another topic to cry some more, and blame Yorubas for your unenviable location in Nigeria.
you are the biggest illiterate here to think Biafra republic is made up of only one ethnic group which is "igbo". Let me school you petty charlatan , there is nothing like "South South " on the compass. That word is alien to geography. Biafra runs through rivers where it has a corridor to the Atlantic Ocean, it also has a corridor to the Atlantic Ocean in Bayelsa.
Before you continue to exhibit your stupidity here, please remember that the next president of Biafra after Ojukwu was Philip Effiong from Akwa ibom.
The man who coined the name " Biafra " Opigo is an Ijaw man. The era of divide and rule from you imps is long gone.

It's quite obvious that children has taken over nairaland. Now, who drew the stvpid map you're showing?? So, you believe that a map that was drawn by some drunk abo.ki is what Igbos will rely on?? The joke is on you and your likes!!

Our brothers that were partitioned into different states will all join us. FYI, Igboland extends far beyond the SE because our people are found in Delta, Benue, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Edo, and Cross River State. So, we won't leave an inch of our territory to you barbarians!

No Igboman will leave the freedom that Biafra will offer to remain in a backward, destructive, killing field, anihilistic country like Nigeria.

The Igbos know that nothing will ever make them to kill one another as happens frequently in Nigeria. They know that everyone will have equal opportunity since the country will be merit based with no room for quota system.

You can continue consolation yourselves with a stvpid map that was drawn by a fool who divided communities and put them in different states but unfortunately for you all, Igboland has existed for centuries and our boundary has been known long before Nigeria came into existence.

No. North central ain't landlocked. Kwara, Niger, and Benue has borders leading outside Nigeria.
You must have a very low IQ, no appologies. If you're educated you will know that there is no way boundaries that existed for centuries would be jettisoned for the ones that was drawn a few years ago.

To you Igboland/Biafra is just SE because one abo.ki told you so and you believed. SMH!

Agonises me? Don't flatter yourself mate!

Fact of the matter is whatever 'hate' you see on forums like this from anyone purporting to be Igbo is more of a response to the vile hate the Yoruba have shown towards the Igbo right from the early 60s to date! We have Youtube clips of some of your elite in the 60s ranting about Igbos.....to Awos genocide during the uncivil war....to shooting at anything that moves.....to present day ill-adviced rants from some of your elite calling for death towards Ndigbo! Whatever 'hate' you see on forums like this from some you believe to be Igbo is only a response to the wickedness you lot have not only wished on us, but have also actively carried out on us, so don't come acting like you're some fuc/king saint on here!

By all means knock yourself out with your back and forth all day with e-warriors in your failed attempt at trying to sell the narrative that Ndigbo are 'landlocked'! For whatever reason, believing such gives you a stiff boner, so don't let me interrupt your wankfest! smiley

At the mercy of Nigeria? Not really. Try to read section 125(1) of UNCLOS(United Nations Convention On Laws Of The Sea) which is international law that Nigeria is a signatory to~

Article 125
Right of access to and from the sea and freedom of transit
1. Land-locked States shall have the right of access to and from the sea
for the purpose of exercising the rights provided for in this Convention
including those relating to the freedom of the high seas and the common
heritage of mankind. To this end, land-locked States shall enjoy freedom of
transit through the territory of transit States by all means of transport.

In the event that the SE becomes an independent country, Nigeria is dutybound under international law to give the SE full access to sea.
and Nigeria can simply put an embargo on goods into "Biafra" coming through sea and air and place a heavy tax on goods through the land. infact Nigeria with some few policies will strangle "Biafra"

My wife just held me because I was angry at yoruba media propaganda for years. I researched online and saw Onitsha port was used by colonial whites during missionary and colonial era; were they stupid? The port was an industrial and commerce port as it connected to the waterways to Port Harcourt and Bonny which lead to the Gulf of Guinea and Atlantic Ocean.
