ibadan was the successor of oyo and prior to the civil war, Ijesa, ekiti, akure, benin were paying tribute to Ibadan. Ibadan managed to subdue everywhere. The owa obokun is a son of oduduwas from Ife.

I would have owa mythical origin was ifw but you mentioned payed homage to ibadan which spoilt everything

If yoy lied in one probably you lied in all

Dont worry i will do my research on owa

the Yoruba are now united and forever will be, thanks to the British. Next phase is for us to get our own nation outside Nigeria

That will be nice but what would you do about the fact that most of your people and obas have to look towards the Sokoto caliphate for their spiritual guidance rather than Ife and the Ooni.

You may get political freedom from Nigeria but will still be under the religious and spiritual leadership of the Fulani Sultan of Sokoto.

All Yoruba muslims are still under the supremacy of the Sultan of Sokoto. He is the one that has to sight the moon before you guys begin the Muslim festivals.

my friend shut up. Long before Nigeria majority king in Yoruba land except the ugbo king have always traced their origin to oduduwa. That’s how they ascertain their legitimacy to be king. From Nigeria to Benin republic and Togo oduduwa is known.

What of if i give you a scholar who proved otherwise

We cant be fooled we already know the hiatory

which fake scholar.

I know u can’t understand French so u probably don’t know what the prof is talking about. But here is a screenshot in the video. Oduduwa is known from Benin to Togo and it has nothing to do with any fake naija politics it’s just the truth.

why are u Benin boys here dumb like this. According to the source from the scholar u provided. It only validates my point of having to be descendants of oduduwa to validate ur kingship. What ur source said is that some of the kings might have lied to validate their kingship cuz origin to ife and oduduwa was necessary to become king and validate their rule.

May God bless you.

The point you highlighted here is the very question Robin Horton raised when trashing similar moronic suggestions --- that is, why should all the kingdoms around the West Africa forest want to insist to have their crowns descended from Ife.

I personally grew up to hear this around of how kingdoms pride themselves saying: "That our crown was despatched from and sanctioned by Ife."

shut up there and stop ur rubbish. They know their own history not u. Oduduwa is nothing political except maybe ur oba who u claimed sold ur people. Oduduwa name is known all over yoruba land. Even the ugbo king who is not from oduduwa descendants acknowledge him albeit in a different manner to other Yoruba kings.

Dont bring emotion while talking moreover i wasn't the one who critically wrote on Oduduwa political propaganda, i wont blame you for defending the Oduduwa probably you yourself don't even know the truth untill yesterday when you heard it from a benin man
I will give you time for the truth to sink indeed the truth is bitter

Again any yoruba monarch particular the present ooni of ife who loves touring, can tour those countries were they are yorubas and inform them on thier hereditary and even cook up stories on how thier people migrated from a mythical ife the people would believe without any doubt because it is coming from a respected monarch...... So dont give me crap on other yorubas in other africa countries said this and that
Oduduwa was a political canopy for the entire yorubas

Dont worry i got some yorubas in school who i can draw the truth from thier mouth for confirmation

I swear that boy is dumber than anything.

At one point, I began to suspect if he was working secretly against Benin Kingdom.

Because everything he brings as evidence is always supporting his opponent's points.

I think at this rate, Benin Kingdom should organize a dumbness contest.

I can bet a huge sum that gregyboy would win back to back continuously for many years to come.
