I understand you said “personally” but be mindful that even NHS band 5 (graduate entry) is at £12.74/hr only rises with experience up to £15/hr

Thanks for the insight. Upon graduation, I intend to practice as a Play therapist and the attached is guiding me.

Lower your expectation else you will be shocked to find out that very very few graduates earns £25/hr and you must be good to earn that much in very early of your career.

Thanks for your input. For what I intend to practice, I will have to be working about 25hrs weekly (about 25 therapy sessions). From the income, am expected to pay for my own regular personal therapy and also paying for my supervision. One supervision session will cost me not less than £40.

Oh interesting, never knew you could start from band 7 thought it’s either 5 or 6.

Notwithstanding band 7 hourly rate is still £19.89/hr

Although, you can get more with private organisations or agencies but job security is very important.

Example is with this covid-19 era most private companies have laid off their staff and agency staff have been forced to terminate their contracts.

Hello good people, It seems this whole thing is heading somewhere. While digging again, I just found out that Salford just added a new course Financial Technology. I seem to be satisfied with it based on my initial concern about the management choice.

https://beta.salford.ac.uk/courses/postgraduate/financial-technology-fintech

But it looks like the University is not yet decisive if they are starting with this session. There is a pop up that reads

New programme: Salford Business School is delighted to present this new programme, aimed at both recent graduates and professionals with a financial, IT or business background looking to expand their understanding of technology in finance.

Subject to academic approval, the programme will open in September 2020. If you want to register your interest, please email:

UK / EU Course Enquiries enquiries@salford.ac.uk
International Enquiries mail to: international@salford.ac.uk

That "Subject to academic approval" clause is my concern. If they have not made up thier mind about it by now, I don't know....

Also, I hope sending a mail to indicate interest won't give me a negative kick back since I had earlier secured admission for a course with them.

Your advice are appreciated. Thanks

Skymoore1004:
Did you not check the marketability and graduate prospects before applying? Management is a general programme, so you can work in any sector- more of business, hospitality sectors etc.

It’s a common course so it’s not in demand much. Can easily find a British graduate with that degree. So it’s left for you, to make use of any opportunity offered.

Opportunities like:
-Placement
-Internship
-Part time work within that study
-Volunteer work (manage projects or team work etc)
-Attend Career Fairs and sell yourself to potential employers.
-Update your Cv regularly and get help from professionals in your uni to review it.
-Start applying for jobs at least after 1st semester via LinkedIn, Indeed.com etc.
-Make vast connections because you never know.

Anything that can boost your experience & skills, just engage.

Most importantly, excel & come out with nothing below Merit. Salford is a good university & Manchester has a lot to offer.

Jisike.

Honest to God, I’m just hearing about this FinTech for the first time o. Sounds more like financial management mixed with a touch of technology.

The course availability for this fall, depends on how many students show interest. It’s not a course to rely on, if you’re keen on leaving this year. So you might as well look for an available course that you can swap the management for. Alternatively, you can just apply to different university entirely that offers FinTech as well.

I don't know which is best, my brother in the U.K. paid online for me 3 years ago but my husband paid for his study through bank transfer today from Nigeria. I assume their is a limit to how much you can pay using your card from Nigeria.
RaheemahAro:
Hello. I've got an unconditional offer and I've been asked to pay my deposit. On the school's payment site, i saw 2 options ; either online through debit/credit card payment or bank transfer. I don't know which of the options is the most preferred. Kindly help. Is it better to preferable to pay via bank transfer or should i pay online?

Greetings to Everyone in the House!

You guys are doing a great job.

I got admission/offers to study MSc Project

Management from the following schools:

RGU
NTU
MMU
BCU
SALFORD

I am okay with their respective tuition fees, course

contents and structures.

They're all accredited by APM and some by PMI.

However, where I need your advice, is the cities these

schools are located.

Which of these cities have a good job prospect after

graduation?

Low cost of living (including accommodation)?

Low crime rate?

Friendly to International students? and so on.

I would appreciate any other advice/ suggestions about

these cities.

Thanks.

How long did your Salford application take to get a response?

Pay using Form A in any of the bank head office in Lagos or Abuja. This will enable you to pay based on CBN rate

Dont pay with debit card as your naira rate will be based on parallel market which is on the high side.

You can't make it working 20 hrs a week, not a risk worth taking.

Enquiries about another course shouldn't normally have a negative kickback.
Subject to approval usually means that the program is in the final stages of approval and that the school is ensuring but not guaranteeing that the course is ready to run at the next intake so you're right to be cautious about an intake for later this year.
If you want to explore your FinTech options, you can also check University of Stirling's MSc FinTech in the link below. I know someone who's a current student on the program and so far, the review has been great.

Hi guys, hope you guys didn't miss me much grin well, to prospective UK students, be careful with ur choice of course, not all that glitters is gold here oh, don't go with just whats written on school page about a course, if possible connect with a present student and no if the course would meet ur expectations, I'm writing this because I'm having regrets already, doing msc environmental management and I'm already wishing I did more active/practical course. Its not entirely a bad course, just that I imagined something different in my head, just be careful, thats my advice, u guys stay safe, cheers!

Hello everyone... please I need candid advise here.

I studied Engineering, but graduated with a third class. I want to switch career and get masters in a course related to Business/Finance/project management/etc. Please which universities in the UK would accept me with third class? My budget for school fees is not more than 10,000 pounds. I've searched everywhere, but I keep seeing 2:2 base requirement.

Something to note, for the past 3 years, I have been a volunteer for a major international organization in project management capacity. I am aware that requirements are not set in stone and can be adjusted on individual basis, but I'd love to get suggestions on the schools that are more flexible and more likely to accept my grade. Please help me.
