And I learnt ASUU members have been paid and it was via IPPIS that they swore not to register under. FG might have played a Maradona on them.
Anyway, since u guys swore never to get paid via IPPIS, I suggest u return the money o grin

Meddlesome interloper, there were no deductions (new tax regime plus other unaccountable deductions). ASUU members did not submit BVN number as requested by government yet govt paid. Strike continues

Good evening Comrades.
It is no longer news that our members have started receiving alerts for some payments through IPPIS despite not registering with or on the fraudulent platform.
Many members had called to seek clarifications.
Please, allow me to offer the much information at my disposal as of now:
1) Payment is for February and March, 2020;
2) Payment made with consequential adjustment on the new minimum wage;
3) Minimum wage arrears not included;
4) Some deductions made - National Housing Fund (this was never registered for),
- Pension,
- Tax (actual, being much more than the usual agreed earlier being paid),
- Union dues (not remitted to ASUU).
5) *COOPERATIVE DEDUCTIONS NOT MADE* (you have to go to all cooperatives you belong to, to pay your deductions);
6) In case you received more than one alert, of same amount, you are to please, report at the Secretariat from Monday, 11th May, 2020;
7) Explanations above are based on the information received when members on sabbatical were paid some time ago; and
cool Our Union will keep you posted on whatever steps to be taken next.
This information has been passed to the President of the Union who is collating from other Branches now!
Olayinka Oladele Awopetu.
Chairperson, ASUU-FUTA.
PLEASE, HELP REBROADCAST ON ALL PLATFORMS.

there will always be fake news in any platform but the LATEST I referred to here is the confirmation of receipt of February and March salaries by ASUU members. I am not promoting any platform whatsoever as I have absolutely no benefit(s) to derive from doing so. I mentioned earlier that someone from FU otuoke posted a screenshot of his alerts which I tried to post here but wasn't able to.

Don't mind the guy. Every now and then he kept on promoting the said fake news group, and when u challenge him he tells u he has nothing to gain, then why do u want everybody to join?

Privacy is key!

Meanwhile things has never been this bad for us salary wise. Worst thing is that u won't get to hear any concrete information from the said authority on the reason for the unnecessary delay. Now when the salary is eventually paid, everyone forgets the past and move on. Next month we enter another cycle. Na like this we go de go? What is our various union leaders doing for Christ sake?

From the very beginning, FG held the knife and the yam. They had all your details and the request for VCs to revalidate the BVN of academic staff was merely a courtesy. In the end, FG got their way.

I understand it hurts to be forcefully enrolled onto a platform you didn't voluntary sign up for but your denial is far from the truth.

My wife is an academic staff in the same university as me and using the new CONUASS salary template (from the NSIWC website) and the new tax regime, her salary was calculated and we arrived at the exact figure she was paid yesterday.

For the avoidance of doubt, what was paid to academic staff was February and March Salary with the new minimum wage and 18 - 20% deductions calculated based on the gross salary. The deductions are as follows

1. Pension - 7.5%
2. PAYE Tax - 7% (in my wife's case)
3. National Housing Fund - 2.5%
4. Union Dues - 2%

In the words of Phyno, "obago', e don enter be say e don enter. ASUU has entered IPPIS and can't possibly exit it.

Every other talk on FG committing an illegality, breaching labour laws and worker's trust, dragging FG to court etc is just empty noise and okoto meow.

ASUU should pivot their agitation onto some other areas like payment of minimum wage arrears, revitalization, fulfillment/implementation of previous agreements, earned allowances etc.

In life, you win some and lose some. ASUU has lost this IPPIS battle.

On a personal note, I'm happy academic staff have been paid. At least, it'll save me some money as I won't have to be giving my wife money for personal upkeep anymore grin

The strike fit enter 2021 as we dey see am so .... There are lots of implications with this move, the fabled IPPIS capture is safely in the trash bin, so no one can scream ghost worker or corruption.

ASUU won't take short payments lightly like our sister unions are doing...

The FG has shown their hands, it's left for the union to react appropriately... This is just a pyrrhic victory for IPPIS proponents.

The good news is that non-ASUU contract staff were paid, Lolz, imagine the aberration.....

ASUU won't bother to agitate for Minimum wage arrears, cos it was not negotiated for by the Union, salary increment is part of the renegotiation they are having with the FG. So this minimum wage increase is considered an award.

Thank you. Everyone has a choice. I will remain a member of the 2 as I could get important info from either source. Besides, nairaland has wide range of topics to explore other than salaries of FTI staff. It just that some people are taking the issue personal. You always display maturity in your comments which should be one of the qualities of someone working in a Tertiary institution

A release by the Federal Polytechnic Offa Bursar on April trial payroll revealed that the following adjustment has been made to the April salary yet to be paid but already reflected in the April Trial Payroll.

The information read in part “Peculiar allowance of 7% for academic and 5% for non-academic staff has been restored” adding that “the 4% and 3.5% shortfall in March peculiar allowance of academic and non-adademic staff was included in the April Payroll”. The Bursar concluded that the staff with wrong/invalid bank account numbers were rectified.

Information on payment of the April salary was however confirmed from a credible source by union members of federal colleges of education circulated to members, which read as follows:-

Good morning esteemed Congress members. It is my pleasure to give this update on April salary.

2. My interaction with the Director, IPPIS this morning on the delay of April salary indicates that the salary will be paid by the end of this week.

3. That the delay was caused by President's directive that ASUU members be paid their withheld salaries.

4. That errors committed on February and March salaries would be corrected on April salary especially under and over payments. Hence, the caution for minimum error free.

5. That all deductions done but not remitted would be released this month particularly cooperative deductions and bank loans which have been prepared and sent by Bursars. Hence the need for proper verification to avoid mistakes.

6. That all Federal workers either captured or not would be paid directly by ippis including ASUU members this month. Hence, the delay.

7. That unions should negotiate with their respective state governments on tax and forward the MOU to ippis.

The information from the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS) revealed that the delayed in April salary to federal tertiary institutions workers was a result of systemic problem which has been resolved. The message circulated by union leader to the Federal Colleges of Education in the country read in part “we found out from the IPPIS office that there was a systemic problem which affected the payment of April Salary in our sector”.

It would be recalled that federal government mandated all ministries, departments and agencies to enroll it staffs on IPPIS to enable a seamless payment of salaries from the central with a view to reducing leakages in public offices and reducing recurrent expenditure knowing that scores of ghost workers are in the civil service scheme. This platform has been able to identify ghost workers since it began operation. The statement concluded that “this has been resolved now, and we should expect payment this week”.

Federal tertiary institutions workers by this circular should expect payment of their April salary this week using the Integrated Payroll and Information System (IPPIS) platform.

People here are saying that the telegram is full of fake news. Your opinion though. There's no platform that there ain't fake news. It will continue if any group is not been managed well by the admins. I can authoritatively tell you that the telegram group for FTI is been managed well as admins have taken it upon themselves to verify every new member. Also, all members in the group are seriously warned about posting fake news, Non-adherence always lead to ban.

So if you don't want to join the group, don't downgrade it simply because you feel it doesn't have quality. And how many people drop real information here?
