Bro, good morning. Sorry I had to quote you so as to make my point. I was born in Kaduna, lived in Lagos and did my University in Anambra state University. I am not from Nnewi, neither am I from Anambra. I am Idoma by tribe. Whatever I am going to tell you now is without bias.

In my final year in school, I was nominated by the parish priest in my Church in school to be the chairman organising committee of the Final Year forum. I and a few others had the task to raise funds to print brochure, cook food for the whole students and buy gifts for the Chaplaincy.

I and my committee members struggled to raise funds. One faithful day, I decided to visit Chikason group in Nnewi. After speaking with a man who looked so unkept about my plight he collected my account number and after a long while, a week to the event I received an alert of #500,000. It was like a miracle. I used part of the money to pay for for brochure and the rest on food and drinks and gift for the church.

It's a long story. The man called 2 days to the event to request for an invitation. He came, saw the happiness in the face of the graduands and asked me if I still need money to solve any more problem which I declined because half a million was more than enough.

Nnewi people are stupendously rich. Igbos are rich you will hardly know because the rich ones are not in government and they live a low-key life.

Even those that live in the north here. Anambra people are truely rich and humble

lol. anambra amaka, but seriously speaking all these chest beating by nigerians from North, south, east and west is a needless exercise.
all these Sparks are just the results of individual efforts.
but real progressive development of any nation begins with the enthronement of quality leadership, that can make good system to thrive un-hindered..
of what good is a system that boasts of a thousand millionaires, in a population of 200 million citizens, while 150 million citizens are living below poverty line, and some are even starving to death on daily basis ?
it's scary that nigerians could be comfortable with our failed system on the basis of individual efforts, if nigerians are comfortable with this failed system, then there's no hope for Nigeria as a nation.
can anybody tell me any single nigeria establishment at par with international standard ?
is it phcn, nnpc, water board, ncc, npf, pension scheme, e.t.c ?
which can human being are we even made of in this part of the world, instead of thinking on how to change this failed system, we are busy chest beating over minor individual efforts.

Igbos no doubt are the richest in Nigeria. They have the largest concentration of people that live above poverty line as a result of their penchant for self reliance and competitiveness not only amongst themselves but in the environment where they find themselves.
Igbos love to migrate in search of greener pastures

An average Igbo is very ambitious and never cows at economic challenges.
They can adapt easily to economic swings of any given location. They have proactive business tendencies and inborn informal business forecast skills thus making them willing to delve into virtually every form of commercial activity.
You'd see them VIRTUALLY IN CONTROL of sectors of commerce like:
Household Electronics
Mobile Phones, ICT equipment
Office and Hospital Equipment
Clothing and Apparels
Cosmetics products
Groceries
Automobiles and Spare Parts
Building Materials
Public Transportation
Household commodities
General import and Exports
Hospitality amongst others

You can still feel their commendable presence in other sectors that they are not in dominant control of like:
Manufacturing
Oil and Gas
Banking
Forex
Craftsmanship
Real estate
Food and Beverages
Hospital and Healthcare etc
There's no state or town in Nigeria that you can't find a market dominated by Igbos. There's no country in the world you can't find an Igbo man.

Igbos own at least 60percent of the hotels in Nigeria.

Apart from the indigenes of host states Igbos are the highest number of landlords and property owners in every state in Nigeria.

An average Igbo man is very afraid of poverty that's why some can even venture into narcotics trade just to escape poverty.

Apart from few Areas with heavy Federal Government presence like Abuja, Lagos, and Port Harcourt, Igbo states/regions are the most developed in Nigeria despite being war torn in the inglorious Nigerian civil war of 1967-1970

Call it chestbeating or anything but its a verifiable fact.

There is something different about Anambra people those guys don't do some things, their resilience encapsulates the survival and can_do spirit of the south Easterners.

Unfortunately that resilience also leads them negatively as their love for money leads them to do somany unthinkable things.

So far none of you has been able to come up with any reasonable answers, figures.

The thought-provoking question is, where are those billionaires, are they not a human being like you and I to know who they are?

Where in the world do people claim to have the highest numbers of billionaires out of thin air or without figures?

What numbers or figures were used to compare them with their counterparts in Lagos, Abuja head-to-head, and come to such conclusion?

I dare to say, Abuja and Lagos have the highest number of billionaires. Can you dispute that head-to-head with facts undecided undecided

grin
A verifiable fact from the mouth of an Igbo?

Wherever have the Igbos been able to excel in business other than the few in Nigeria?

This petty trading thing has gotten into your heads that you even call it business and chest beat about it.Very funny because nobody knows you as successful business people except the petty trading you do in large numbers.

Your professed petty trading is not so lucrative, reason you have large number of people doing rituals, baby factory, stealing, kidnapping, human trafficking, North female kidnappings... which is new....,skull mining, serious drug trade, counterfeit goods....name the crime,Igbos are there.
Yorubas are thieves, skull miners, fraudsters too but Igbos are top notch in crimes and they are always creating new crimes everyday.
Do you think their trading is paying off?

Why are they so much in crime if they are real business people?

If they are as good as Yorubas in business, why are they not making it abroad like the Yorubas?

Yorubas have great business people very much greater than Igbos.....if they even have any.....abroad.

Yorubas have the most successful Nigerians abroad who have made names and wealth in their endeavors.People like Dehinde Fernandez,Bayo Ogunlesi,Las Lawal,Akande,Hakeem Olajuwon etc.

Don't you think Yorubas are better in business than the Igbos because they have, been more successful both at home and abroad than the Igbo?

Yorubas have massive industries in Nigeria that have branches even in Europe,Africa etc.

. bro. I believe the article is not talking about the physical location of these billionaires but the home town which they are from. Of course if you speak of just location then Lagos and Abuja have the most billionaire. They are the biggest cities in the country so that’s obvious.

You guys still don't figure what's happening here is just some oral concocted, sponsored news and not stats.

Now, let do a little break down ;

according to the news( not stats), it states, a state (Anambra precisely) with the (so-called) highest number of naira billionaires without given a figures or names and numbers of the so called naira billionaires so pray tell us how exactly do we ascertain or establish the said numbers of billionaires or know they even exists? Were they just assumed or counted out of the thin air? And if they are counted what's their numbers and where is their names to compared with the number of billionaires in another states of the country?

Now, your second articles, if we are to go by thet, assuming that's what was used as the yardstick to measured the stats, the news-stats rather, are those ten people all and if they are all are you now telling us that in lagos, imo, kaduna there are not more than that numbers, in naira billionaires. ??

This got to be the joke of a decade.

What's the use of their billions if they can't come together to provide uninterrupted power, clean roads, water, world-class schools and hospitals in the town of their origin? Or at least get into politics to effect positive changes or site businesses in their home town to create jobs for their people?

The thread is really unnecessary.

Anyone in doubt should visit Nnewi.

Some people typing two pages in disagreement have never gone beyond Ore going SE/SS. Why bother?

Afterall the only way some people became accidental landlords was by taking possession of abandoned property. Their sons and grandsons couldn't do any better either.
