Stop saying what you don't know.

1) Itskeris is partially mutually intelligent with certain Yoruba dialects.

2) Ilaja is a subset of the larger Yoruba language spectrum.

3) Oba, Eko and Ola are proper Yoruba names.

Several kings have reigned in Ile-Ife before Oduduwa and many of these have the word 'OBA' as prefixes to their names and some are now deitified e.g Obatala, Obalufon etc.

The appropriate Bini word for camp is 'Ago'' and not Eko as it's being misconstrued online.

Even the Binis don't bear 'Ola'

Odingo1:

Know you that Egun, Itsekiri and Ilaje language is entirely different from Yoruba language. Somebody that speak Egun or Itsekiri cannot have a conversation with a yoruba man because they cannot hear each other but Ikwerre and Igbo person from south eastern Nigeria will discuss with each other fluently.

Also point of correction, the names that you refer to as yoruba names are actually Bini names because Bini people colonized yoruba land for long time and transfered some Bini names to Yoruba like Oba(king), Eko(Lagos), Ola etc.

You guys should leave them

Are itsekiris Yoruba? No, they bear Yoruba names with dialect similar to Yorubas

Are Edo Yorubas? Some of them bear Yoruba names with Yoruba culture

Are Egun Yorubas? No, ..they look Yoruba and bear Yoruba names

Are Ijaws Yorubas? No, in Ondo and Lagos they bear Yoruba names.

There is no single Ijaw village in Lagos.

The westernmost of the Ijaws can be found natively in Ondo.

I repeat, there is no single Ijaw who is native to Lagos.

it all started with Igbos insulting SS and calling them tribeless, they later responded in a harsh way, Igbos are actually the most stupid set of people, they brought the new hatred on Igbo and if things are not done properly, Igbo nation will ever regret having ipob

Amarabae:
Greetings lovely humans!
This short post is aimed at correcting some misguided and delusional orientation that Igbos have about Rivers state,
As Rivers state indigene born and bred there, though married to a south east state, I am well grounded about the total makeup of the south south state and Igbos should learn.
1, Rivers state is not an Igbo state, it is erroneous to assert that , it is a multi ethnic state comprising of kalabaris, okrikas, ikwerres, Etches, Ogbas, Ekpeyes, Elemes, Ogonis etc
yes the ijoid sub-tribes there affirm a solidarity to Ijaw nation , likewise the ogonid sub-tribes affirm theirs to ogoni nation except for a little denial in eleme but There is NO strong or firm solidarity to the Igbo nation from any rivers tribes, the few little solidarity comes from egbemas in Onelga and we ASA/NDOKIS in Oyigbo, the reason why is because we still have our kit and kin in ukwa west, ukwa east and ohaji egbema LGAs.
The ikwerres, Ogbas,Ekpeyes,Ndonis,Etches Are recognised officially as an independent tribes in Rivers state, and since as a people, they have vehemently denied being Igbos , their decisions must be respected by Igbos,
ikwerres are ikwerres
Ekpeyes are Ekpeyes etc case closed.
.
2, Port Harcourt is not an Igbo city,
you can't refer pH as an Igbo city just because of the ikwerre factor there when the ikwerres over the years have denied affinity with Igbos,
PH belongs to rivers tribes, case closed and there was no time in history it was officially registered as Igweocha, that was a nickname just like some call it Pitakwa.
3, Rivers state should be counted out of your biafran ipob map because at the mention of that name, many wounds that was sustained during the war gets opened up again,
wake up to reality and stop deceiving yourself, Rivers state government and even Rivers state council of traditional rulers have warned you Igbos yet you irritants don't want to learn. is Alright,
4,The governor nyesom wike is not an Igbo man but Ikwerre man ,he has never claimed Igbo,
he is a bit Igbophobic, go and read about his igbophobic records as obio akpor local government chairman,
this same wike renamed a stadium after yakubu Gowon,. a man whose war actions killed many Igbos yet wike immortalised him ,yet your afara born direction keep deceiving you about wike on radio Biafra, you don't yet want to have sense.
Was it not wike who hosted the oba of Benin and affirmed ikwerres loyalty to his kingdom before him, you know all that yet you are living in denial, its alright!
5, The state is still Igbophpbic, case closed,
you are tolerated, not welcomed and you know that.
even nnamdi KANU knows this, that's why when he was around and was talking about coming to his Biafra capital "igweocha", the guyman parked at oyigbo and never stepped foot in pH, or core rivers area, he knew about the repercussions, let's stop deceiving ourselves
.
show me one ijaw man supporting Biafra and I will show you 1000 ijaw men who will spit when that name is mentioned, same with the ikwerres and co,
that's a bitter reality
,
If you have had a first hand experience of Igbophobic outrage from these minorities, you will know that the "Fulanis and Yorubas are learners"
I will stop here ,part 2 is coming.
You have been rejected many times yet you are still stubborn , that means that you have an ulterior plan,
Ipob stop attracting insults to the great Igbo Nations , have some self dignity before them,
The minorities don't need Igbos to survive , the Igbos don't need them to survive, but Ipob is making it look as if they are oxygen to Igbo's.
for me its either we restructure Nigeria or a homogenous Igbo only country ,
ipob should start waking up to reality before it is late.

I don't know why some of you feel/think that the bash Igbo constantly received on this forum is solely because of IPOB. While IPOB are partly to be blamed, the fact is most are fueled by ant-Igbo sentiment. Many only leverage on their unguided utterances to insult Igbo. Take out IPOB today, the insult will still continue. There will always be issues to leverage upon. I think, the first campaign should be against anti- Igbo sentiment in Nigeria. Anything shot of this is sheer waste of time and energy.

But you IPOB members gave them an excuse to justify it. You have dragged the Igbo nation to the mud by behaving like directionless children who lack reason. Why do you keep attaching the Igbo nation to people who say they do not want you? Is that not akin to rape or forceful marriage?

But the utterances of Nnamdi Kanu, IPOB and their supporters is contrary to this claim.
Go to Radio Biafra page on Facebook and see the level of hatred against the Fulani and Yoruba people.

WE ARE LEAVING NIGERIA BECAUSE IT IS A FAILED STATE.

I HAVE NEVER KNOWN NDIIGBO TO FEAR ANY GROUP OF PEOPLE ON GODS EARTH.

FEAR IS XENOPHOBIA AND TRIBALISTIC OR RACIST ORIENTATED.

It's not only Ikwerres, Northerners also refers to Ijaw, Efik, Ogoni, Urhobos, Anang as igbos.

During the build-up to the 2011 presidential election, educated Government workers I my place of work in Potiskum, Yobe State were telling me that Goodluck Jonathan is an Igboman!

I tried educating them that Jonathan is an Ijaw man and Ijaw is a separate ethnic group but they didn't listen.

Goodluck had 'Ebele' and 'Azikiwe' as other names..
.
But I think I get your point...
And it's no fault of the igbos.

But, truth be told, I hadly come across lengthy epistles on SM where igbos try to 'Claim' Ikwerre's' or the other 'minorities' as theirs or part of them.

Infact I've seen more of these type of posts than the other.
My question is why put so much effort in trying to rebutt or refuse something, when the other side barely takes this thing seriously??
You might say, Ipob.. but does Ipob represent the entirety of the Igbo nationality??

I know Dr Joseph Ogundu well.
We have tried for him and his kind in Ikwerre. We have endured unending disgrace and embarrassment from his overwhelmingly Igbophobic Bini Ikwerre people back home for 50yrs.
We have tried for them.
They should all go home and sort out their issues with their Bini brothers, including Uche Okwukwu.
We should amicably expel them all from Igbo gatherings.
We sympathize with them, but the interest of many can no longer be sacrificed for those of few.
Igboland and Igbo nationalism needs a radical shake up. Cutting off freeloaders like Ikwerres in our midst and their likes, is a good way to begin.
They can no longer be allowed to eat their cake and still have it.

Uche okwukwu is just using Ohanaeze for his daily bread...That's their game.

What is all these noise about. The nationality that wish to remain in Biafra or join Nigeria will be determined through referendum. Meanwhile Rivers people really bleeped up but just like the Benue and middle beltans I believe they have learnt their lesson.

Let's get one thing clear. Ndiigbo has nothing whatsoever to prove to any Nigerian group.

IPOB and their misguided idea of roping Ndiigbo in a phantom Biafra with over 200 ethnic groups in SS to create a modern day tower of Babel, is well known in SS and has been a source of insult to Ndiigbo.
No person in SS do not know about IPOB. I know this because I regularly visit Facebook pages of SS groups to guage their reactions towards IPOB and Biafra.

Ndiigbo don't give any flying horse about what any group in SS or beyond think about us. We will simply return hate for hate, love for love, peace for peace, violence for violence, cooperation for cooperation, understanding for understanding, madness for madness, insult for insult to any group who relates with us on those terms. Actions must be met with appropriate reactions, let no one ever think they have monopoly to those actions.

But first, IPOB unity begging must stop.
