I will advise you check the regulator/indicator to be sure that, it is set to freeze rather than cooling. Most times, new freezers comes with default regulator as cooling.
You can as well read the manual to get more understanding. I once had such experience but mine was Thermocool though and it's working perfectly well with longer hours of freezing.

I really don't know the appropriate section I should post this.
I bought a new Hisense freezer and I expected it to be froze free... instead I can see some little ice inside... other than that it seems the bottom of the freezer has no element to make it freeze.

The problem is this:
There hasn't been light for a while so I've been running the freezer with generator.

When I complained about the notice error.. the seller asked me to run the freezer for 15 hours straight first.
He also asked me to buy sterbilizer

I've not been chanced to run the freezer for that long because man must go to work..
And I don't have additional 18k to buy stabilizer..

My worries now is on my 80k freezer that defrost in 2 hours..

Am I just being worried or there's actually something to be worry about?
Thank you all.

I usually dont comment on Nairaland anymore due to what it has turned into, but your cry for help drew my attention cause I just bought an Hisense refrigerator 4 days ago.

At 1st the fridge appears not to work as expected after 2 hours of use until I went through the manual and I discovered that I have to allow it to work for 4 to 5 hours at the minimal temperature unloaded (that's for the freezer to stabilislzer the temperature).

I did that yesterday evening for 6 hours and as of today I increased the temperature to level 5 and ran my gen for 5 hours from 7AM to 12PM. Up till now the contents in my feezer are still frozen and the fridge still cool as I typed this.

I plan to leave the gen on till 10:00 pm...
Whatever happens ,I will keep you guys updated.

From 8am to 8pm is 12 hours. So if you have powered that freezer for 12 hours and the situation still remains same, please have it returned. You don't need to run your generator set till 10pm. Once it's 8pm and no improvement, turn it off except you still want to make use of your Gen.

It has nothing to do with loading items in it. Abi you bought the freezer to be used without items in it?

No need to introduce fight. I believe the freezer was covered under warranty? All you need to do is return and get another one but one thing for sure, i don't think you will be refunded. The best is to get another freezer even if it means adding more money. I will advise you get another brand and forget this Hisense of a brand.

If there's Thermocool, you can go for it. Do update tomorrow on the outcome. Good luck bro

My gen is quite powerful.
3.8 horse power...
I use it for pumping manchine, oven ,water heater and almost every electrical devices here.

U can't compare generator power to PHCN lailai. First thing you should do is get stabilizer 1AH would do.

Sorry guys.
My bad...
Absolutely Human mentality,we run and run to get information for help and we forget to give feedback or even say Thank you.
I'M VERY SORRY.

Returned the freezer to the shop and the guy said He don't have money,He ordered for another one for me,Which I pick up the second day...
That as well won't freeze,it's the same thing.
So I called LG and they sent their technical guys,They confirm the freezer is working just fine.
But,I have no Ice yet.
So,I assumed I bought a deep fridge instead of a deep freezer...
Day after days... my deep fridge started changing to freezer...
Currently... it's works just fine,But still won't recommend the brand or this particular product because it takes approximately 2 weeks to reach the optimum performance.
Below is the current picture of the freezer

Nice to have you back and good to read your update. Well, it may be brand issue but it just doesn't make sense to run a deep freezer for 2 weeks before it completely performs. Under normal circumstances, a deep freezer should achieve freezing point within 48hrs if it's a good brand except there's a fault somewhere.

And it appears you didn't purchase the unit from an authorized dealer because i can see you mention "SHOP" in your comment. If you must purchase a product next time, please go to their authorised dealer. Fouani is the authorised dealer for Hisense, LG and Maxis in Nigeria.

All the same, i believe you've gotten your experience and you won't make a mistake in your next purchase.

Cheers

Hello Bro

I noticed you've been trying to send a mail but unfortunately don't have access to that email at this time.

Is there something i can assist you with?

Sorry about your experience bro, but let me tell you, even if you had bought Thermocool, the glory of a freezer is constant light
I am using this same hisense freezer as yours, I bought it around June or July last year, it's been one of the best decisions I took. Sometimes, I will have to switch it off for almost 2days to be able to remove somethings...........
Meanwhile, I am using it with my Qasa stabilizer I bought since my single days, you don't need a big stabilizer, 1000watt will do biko if that's what you can afford
But, and never ever ever compare the power from Gen with Electricity
Watch it, put on Gen for 5hours and let there be PHCN light for 5 hours and check which one will freeze past. Infact using Gen for 6hours is like 2 or 3hours of PHCN light for freezer

One more thing, hisense freezer freezes from up downward, that's the pattern, I patiently studied it, if you also want to test it, there is a fast freeze by the side of the freezer where the light indicator dey, put it at maximum and test....
It freezes from up downward and the base of the freezes past and when it freezes, it remains gidigba

There was a time light had issues, meanwhile, I stay in a place where we have at least 18hours a day, but light had issues for about 4days one time, my things are still frozen and cool, though already began to defrost gradually by 3rd day.....
Meanwhile, it also depends on what you have in the freezer, plenty things retains the freeze better than few things

The problem is not the freezer but ur generator. If u run this freezer on phcn (or whatever they call themselves now) u will see the difference.

It's funny most advisers in the first page didn't advise you well enough. It's almost like they have no experience with this sort of issue. A new fridge needs to run on Nepa light with a good steblizer for optimal performance. My deep freezer blocks so much that I can't leave pure water inside for more than a day else it will block and puncture it. But when there is no light and I run with gen, this same freezer will sit there for hours with very little or no ice.

Thank you bro. I already returned it back at the Lg showroom today, and guess what?? I got a refund after some minutes of arguements. I asked myself. Does this means this people already knew the freezer was faulty before i bought it?? Anyway i have my cash now but don't know what product to go for really.
Any advice in the room please
