I don’t seem to understand this new trend of making up stories. Are people doing it to gain attention or sympathy?
What happen to the days when NL has intellectual threads and meaningful (Life impacting) threads that people can learn from.
Oh my NL of old. A place to relax and learn.
Mr. Seun, it will be best if you can bring some sanity back to our beloved NL.
Out with all these ethnic bigotry, unnecessary sexual and meaningless threads with cooked up stories.

His point is clear. There used to be a time when Nairaland was less clogged with garbage for the sake of garbage! It would be nice to have that back.
I have to confess, being that we are in 2020... I expected much better.

Anything useless will make more clicks.

If you have nothing intelligent to post or nobody is noticing you, make a bigotry comment on first page or creat erotic threads. The thread will get to page 30 with more than 300k viewers, that's money for Nairaland.

So, the more rubbish posts, the more clicks for them.

Mr man, forget about that. You want other people to spoon-feed you with information/comments. Lazy baffoon.

Read the OPs post. His point is clear! If you don't understand, then don't freaking respond at all. This is part of what this thread is on.

Why is it so hard for you to believe that there are stuff happening in people's life? Like I understand that your life is booring and predictable, but not everyone is like that. I've also shared my story on NL which you might consider as 'made up' and I didn't do it with this profile, and I assume others don't like to use thier main for personal stories like that.

This world doesn't revolve around you or what you want. Let people that need help post thier stories adn get it.

If you search for the meaningful and educative ones, you'll see them.

Sadly, most Nigerians gravitate towards the ones that won't add value to them, but ignore the meaningful ones.

Below are two meaningful posts I created, but the views are abysmal. If I create a new post of me cooking in the kitchen with a half-nakéd woman, all of the people that complain will jump to read, have fun, and abuse the OP, but when it's a meaningful post, 98% of these people run away.

They are allergic to meaningful posts, yet they complain of lack of it. It's funny.

Below are those two threads.
