Finally, I was able to capture a snake alive without hurting it. Its still small, not more than 2 weeks old from the look of things.

The specie happens to be House brown snake, they are non-venomous snakes. You can confirm... Its day 2 with it. But just wondering where I can get pink mice or anything to feed her with. She's a female. I checked for that also.

Hope its not a bad idea?
Nonsensical. Of all animals, it's snake you wants as a pet?

You better get rid off that dangerous thing you call pet, whether its venomous or not,its dangerous, dont emulate Westerners in everything they do,its foolishness to think how White own these dangerous animals meant to be in the wild, you want to keep it so that it will kill you

I don't think its OK for you to keep it without getting a license or getting ideas from a serpentologist.

Because in the end, you could hurt your self if it bites you(I believe nonvenomous snakes also have sharp teeth too) or the snake gets hurt by catching a disease from your inexperience.
Re: My Pet Snake by Hypocrit: 8:48pm On May 14, 2020
There is no sense of friendliness created in snakes, the only sense they have is feeding and security. Man is just too foolish to leave all domestic friendly animals such as Cats, dogs... and be chasing after wide animals as pet, and eventually most times, this is where they usually meet their waterloo. Nonesense...
Re: My Pet Snake by LordShiva97(m): 8:49pm On May 14, 2020
It's a bad idea, release the creature back into the wild where it belongs.

Greatzeus:

Since it's non venomous, good way to go then. But such pets doesn't fit a normal African settings. We are not used to having snakes as pet. Imagine your parents coming over to your house and seeing a snake,I could bet they will refuse to sleep over in that house,no be African parents again? grin grin grin
I remember a documentary I watched on may Geo about people killed or almost killed by their pet. There's this girl who loves snakes so much, she had many snake pets and also license to keep them. She wanted to have a Gabon viper but the authority refused. She went to buy the viper and kept it illegally. She was bitten by the same viper and died cry

I watched the documentary about the girl and the gaboon viper 2 days ago on nat geo wild

OP, you need a cage like this to make your pet feel at home. Make the cage look like a mini forest.

Enough y'all with the egungun and pall bearer comment. It's a Brown House Snake and its harmless.

Abeg, let us show the world we sef go school. The snake has been proven to be harmless.

If I don't even know anything, Nat Geo Wild is my second best channel after Discovery and I have watched "Snake City" several times and Simon explains every snake clearly.

So please and learn instead.

I wish you are around me. I have lots of belgium mice.

The mother died with almost a dozen kitties. They were so cute. I couldnt kill them, so i started feeding them. Built a cage for them. They eat everything , even dead cockroach carcasses. Now they are not so cute. They've grown fat and rotund. I am wiling to feed them off to your pet snake.

Damm, i wish i can have me a pet snake like yours. She's beautiful, between.

Kudos for been atuned with Nature.
