Both were strikers, and Weah scored 193 goals in his entire football career, Etoo scored total 371 goals in his career, he scored 160 goals in Barcelona alone in 5 years, meaning he was scoring averagely 32 goals per season then, when he was wearing #9 shirt in in Barcelona. During Weah's time as a player, any body scoring 32 goals per season would have been seen as a soccer god. It was only the best of the best of the best players in Weah's era, who won Ballon D'or that could manage to score such goals back to back for many seasons. George Weah that won world best, was scoring like 12 goals per season average. Nothing special about him, just another under average player, yet he won World best because he was lucky at that time, his competition were all washed up, many of them had reached their prime and were fading, and the others that were good were just upcoming players still trying to find their best game. But Etoo was scoring over 30 goals per season consistently, and even in his worst season, he was scoring over 20 goals, still he never won because at that era you had some exceptional players coming up that raised the bar to incredible heights, players that were scoring 50 goals like it was nothing, then plus racism politics. Yet, all in all, there were players on his level who won the Ballon D'or. So, obviously racism was at work. If Etoo was a white guy, he would have be given Ballon D'or. That's a fact of life!
