A bank might not be able to answer your question.

Can stockbroking firms like ARM.IBTC,FBN and co answer my question?Sorry for these basic questions Sir,Local Man is a novice smiley

Same here. Wish the law can be amended to allow individuals drawdown at their own risk. I doubt if the law is ths rigid globally

Government won't allow that, we don't have a social insurance scheme in Nigeria.

The amendment should be for financially sophisticated employees.

It depends on you. You are the only person who knows how you operate your home.

The starting point is savings.

Have you bought money market funds or Treasury Bills?

When what you have is substantial, you can then start thinking of business or Investment

Thanks..
No, i dont have any mmf or tb... more reason why i am here... i understand the rates are very low this period but i am patiently waiting for things to normalise as advised here...

Appreciate sir

Waiting for things to normalize is procastination and it shows you are not ready to start.

Not a matter of reading books, start by saving

Although things are difficult now, business is hard, NAHCO paid 50% salary to workers in April, Arik Airline paid 30%, Some did not pay in April

But if you have been receiving 100% of your salary during this lockdown, try as much as possible to save 10% or more. It is what you save that will save you at difficult times

Exactly.

When the money must have lost value in 20 years. N110,000 of the year 2000 doesn't have the same value with N110,000 of 2020

As advised by one of my oga here... get addicted to this thread and learn more... honestly, its paying... i am applying some of the ideas, knowledge & experience shared here to my business although i am still understudying the numerous investment opportunities that are being discussed here... one day, very soon, i will join the wagon as i have only done bank fixed deposit in the past... i appreciate all contributors here... more Grace guys

On the other news, wifey rarely visit Nairaland however i have been discussing some of the info i get here with her... long story short we had a lil quarrel last night about the "biz biz Investment investment" hunger... told her its for our good and future, you know...
She said, don't i know properly raising kids are more important? infact they are the greatest investment and assets one can ever think of...

the other day, i told her about the must read financial books that was shared here and i am already planning to get all the books... i slept yesterday within having my dinner...

I know, raising (financial, smart etc) kids can sometimes be challenging/diffcult... please can the expirenced here, share some tips, ideas etc... recommend child raising books as well if you know of any...
We have just one beautiful daughter, shes 10 months plus, we got married barely 2years ago

Olujaidi, Ahib, Emma, Ma Sholapey & other bosses make una choke mouth...
Sorry for digressing a little

Follow madam advice and also invest wisely. Children tend to learn from what they see their parents doing day in day out.

If you're smart, your kids will learn your smartness. Be a reflection n the book he/she will be reading for a better results. Welcome to our midst, I pray your life never remain the same as you pay close attention to this thread.

Worth maybe half of that value now. In 2000 a self-contained at school was 150k, today it is 300k.

With your good recommendations on real estate/rental property one can only imagine what access to part of these funds invested in real estate today will worth in 10-20 years from now..... Instead of the peanuts that gets added yearly.

In Islamic finance they don't pay interest, but rental income on the loan. Which is more like an the annual return on the loan.

Okay thank you Sir.

From what I read, the rental is for 7years (ending 2027). In a layman's term, it simply means; I will have access to the capital after 7years but the rental will be credited into my account on quarterly basis? I hope am correct on this

Also, must the subscription be exactly 7years? Can I request for 5years or 9years?
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by Nobody: 1:39pm On May 21, 2020
Is there a possibility that, as soon as the interstate lockdown is lifted, the naira may gain against the dollar? Say exchange rate falls to 360 Naira.

Why am I asking? I'm in importation and currently sourcing my products with the current interest rate. If dollar falls in the shortterm it'll affect my prices and cause me to sell below my cost price.

Or is this the perfect time to just hold my money? Customer patronage is at an all time low right now anyway.

Safety, steady and guaranteed income makes the average employee to miss wealth generation opportunities.

How can a retired employee who got severance package of N20 millon in 2000, and decided to buy a 20 years annuity that will pay him a steady monthly income of N110,000 for 20 years? He thought he was smart that will be a total payment of over N26 million over a period of 20 years.

Mainwhile the insurance company will use his N20 million to buy FG bonds at 11%, making N2.2 million every year paying N110,000 every month to the retiree at a total of N1.32 million every year. Making profit of over 800k every year.

At the end of the 20th year, the insurance company will get a bullet payment of N20 Million, whereas the retiree would have drawn down his annuity payments.

You have 6 working days left for everything from opening your cscs account, to funding the account of the placement bank for the investment and finally sending your filled form plus evidence of payment to the receiving agents.

Act quickly
