THE STAT HATES THESE PLAYERS
*Zinedene Zidane; there is an argument that at club level he did underachieved. Just three league titles and one Champions league despite spending 10 years with Juventus and Real Madrid is barely the stuff of a legend. Instantly you could argue that Zidane could have make up for the deficiencies of his site alone. But his underlying numbers are not incredible either. Just 61 league goals and 64 assists in 304 appearances for Cannes, Bordeaux, Juventus and Madrid. But still Zinedene Zidane is ranked in the best top 3 players of all time after Pele and Maradona. And no one argue about that.

*Andre Iniesta; 35 goals in 445 appearances for Barcelona. And 13 goals in 131 appearances for Spain. But check where they rank him. Up there with the greatest of all time. But we accepted it to just be without any argument.

*Does this shows that these players are being over-hyped or WHAT?

*But we all know that the stats don't LIE...

*Okay, check Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi stat please shocked

. Still they are the best in this football era... And this Vandijk side eliminated Messis' side after initially leading them with 3 goals to nil. Messis' they only needed a single goal to advance, but the Vandijks' shut 'em up. The worst day in Messi's football carrier.

*Is Van dijk that good? Uhmm, back to back UCL finals, about to lift the EPL which Liverpool have been trying to win for the past 30 years. Won Fifa club World cup which the club lacked in their trophy cabinet, UEFA Supercup in just 2 and a half season. Yes, this guy is good. He has transformed the whole club from doubters to believers..

*How many years it took Ramos at the top level to reach the level he is right now? 15 years with the Galacticos such as Arjen Robben, Raul, Sneijder, Huntlaar, Guti, Benzema, Ozil, Ronaldo, di Maria, Khedira, Kroos, Modric, Marcelo, Kaka, Pepe, Cannavaro etc. But it took Van dijk just 2.5 seasons with the average and unknown players to sweep out the major and the biggest trophies out there.

*Second world best is not easy if you consider the top players he beat to reach that level as a centre half in this era. E.g. Ronaldo, Ramos, Mane, Salah, Hazard, De Bruyne, Sterling, Lewandowski, Kroos, Pique, Bonucci, etc.

nice argument u are bringing up but my point of view is that some players do peak at the early stage of limelight and others at the ending phrase of their carears especially defenders...lets use ramos as a case study...he started playing from wing back b4 transferred to c.b..he picked at the middle stage of his carear and became the best defender in the world winning cups for spain and madrit bt his wrong doing is his dirty style of play that makes the press hates him so much...let me ask..if ramos was an English guy playing in tge epl, do u think ur van would be rated above ramos?? and secondly van dijk really had a good start as u listed which is impressive bt lets wait for seasons to come n towards the end of his carear lyk my past list of defenders listed b4 we judge him as the besf defender ever because many have ad this same form n dropped e.g umtiti, varane, kompany, rudiger etc...na xo una British press take hype stones n city blow cash sign am n now d guy is history...stones wey no fit c starting shirt for current spain squad..
