Please, post where I wrote ALL NIGERIAN MEN.

You see, you refused to read.

Go back and read that post, I told you the first time, but because you are either a rapist, or you defend them, your body is scratching you.

If you were never part of rapists, you would not be so defensive. Why Are you fighting for something you can not relate to?

At gunpoint? By female cultist? Are you for real? Why do you all have or try to create this impression that women are not capable of hurting a fly? Why?
If it is rape when a woman's drink is laced, why isn't it rape when a guy's drink is?
You sure won't tell me ladies don't use the "I will shout that you want to rape me" threat to blackmail men into getting down with them . What's that?

Sigh...... Am I really reading this right now? You believe a guy can not be raped? Wao!
I am not saying a man cannot be stimulated to have coitus against his will. My point here is your story is gross exaggeration or an outright lie.

Technically though, in the court of law a man cannot be raped, just molested.

Let's not derail further. You can create a separate thread to treat the issue of male rape.

Yea.... You have a point, social media court can get one justice. At least with all we are seeing so far. But then is it really effective? What about those cases that didn't and wouldn't reach the internet and culprits who don't even use social media. Social media never prevented Tina's case from happening, then Jennifer happened now it's Uwa, who's next? Or how many cases have or would happen without the internet happening?
But then Like you pointed out, social media is helping I partially agree. But we don't have to end it there only to be back when it happens again
.@ bold, that is why we owe that duty to ourselves to train our kids right?denounce such despicable acts.Make laws that are tangible have a good security system, criminal justice system with trained personnels that can carry out investigations and most importantly denounce victim shaming, rape culture and stop being apologist or enablers of rape.Which we are currently failing at addressing.

Walking with teaser is a protective measure, the world is what it is, you can't just create awareness or threads and Rant then stop there grin grin What's that? Nne get pepper spray to protect yourself till people get sense. That's logic! Not screaming"Don't rape me o" "don't rape me o" everywhere online. Let's be realistic please.
Nah you have a point but the victims nor be vigilante preventive measures does not stop rape because the victims being raped did not know or plan that they will be raped I should feel safe when I walk out these measures does not end rape we want measures that end rape not by carrying pepperspray. We need to change our orientation teach our men and more importantly take rapist to book this measures curb rape instead.

Alright Madam. I'm not downplaying though, but I will keep my reasons to myself until y'all are sober. No vex grin

Okay. However we choose or believe we should treat rape we should all say no to it and play our part.
As family,friends,society and government.
To curb this menance.
It falls on the society to shame rapist and report suspects to relevant authorities and it falls on the state to deliver justice.

If you weren’t referring to all Nigerian men then the title of your thread should’ve been this way “Some/most Nigerian men should call themselves to order”.

Maybe because some men do it while others keep quiet and justify the act thereby making them enablers and apologist.
So yeah don't fault her for saying all men.

Although I think it is some but I see where she is coming from.

Don’t leave them alone thinking their purpose in life is just to make money. Focus on other areas too.

They have already started mentioning male rape, some are even asking why she had to go to the church at such an ungodly hour to read as if they were there when it all happened.

In as much as I fear rape and understand the scar it can cause my greatest fear is for people who are rape apologist and enablers. They are everywhere on nairaland and to imagine that nairaland is to some extent a reflection of the society we find ourselves .Waohhh

I just have this funny feeling the rapist is on nairaland.. This behaviour from majority of the male monikers cannot be ordinary .

My sister, it is not ordinary. It just shows the shocking mentality that many of these men have. My skin is crawling.

You know the funny thing, I have been on Nairaland for 10 years

If Plead and Ariza go through my posts and threads, they will see where I have defended men. I started an entire thread some years back, to drag Dorcas Shola Fapson, when she falsely accused that taxify driver of rape.

But, I make a thread on women getting raped, and these same people are insulting me and making unfounded accusations.

People who are so defensive when you raise a topic, are usually guilty of it.

I am a feminist today, tomorrow, dem go say I am trying to please men. You cannot satisfy human beings, dem like quarrel pass fight. Ariza no even dey defend men reach me.
I find it amusing that some of them commenting have not bashed or denounce the act but one started reminding us that men get raped like as if you denied that in the first play.
They are not sticking to the topic but want to go defensive.Nawa

The root is not male rape

I actually did not read your initial post. So, this was it?

All the women that have been raped, how many have raped men?

If the root is male rape, it must be men raping men then, so, the root is still men. Is it not?

1 in 4 girls have been sexually molested as children

1 in 10 boys have been sexually molested as girls.

If it was women molesting boys, shouldn't there be more boys being molested, on the average? Considering, more women have been raped, according to statistics?

You are still trying to shift blame.

You cannot blame being molested, formolesting. This is the same line R-Kelly used, but he was not thee only child in his family that was molested.

You cannot keep passing the blame. A person committed an atrocity, so, they must commit it with someone else. Should you not be more empathetic, to not do to others, what has been done to you? If someone steals from you, do you steal from others.

What cycle are you promoting here? Turning aggressors to victims. So, whose fault is it? The person who molested the men was also molested, and the person who molested them, was also molested

At what point is there accountability?

Do you know why molested boys molest others? Because they never got justice, so they think the society accepts such a crime. All females need to repent from raping young boys, almost all young boys have been raped by adult women, too many paedophile women.

You are still not being sensible.

I told you that over a thousand rape cases gave occurred in Nigeria since 1973, and only 65 have been convicted. 65. I am not counting the thousands more that never got reported.

Did the molested girls get justice? Why are there not more boys being raped on the average, than the girls? If more girls are raped, then, more boys should have been raped as well. Why are girls more likely to be raped, even when there are less male victims of rape?

The girls that never got justice, why didn't they go on to rape men?

So, what is your point? You and Ariza, what points do you have with such a line? Why do you think we should have empathy for male perpetrators of rape, but not for their female victims?

We won't discuss, until you educate yourself better. I see a lot of excuses, and not enough accountability. You are passing blame, making assumptions that all the men who rape were raped.

Men who rape, do so, because they want to rape. They rape because they can rape and get away with it. That is why most people rape, not because there is an underlying condition.

Thank you.

I ignored your comment earlier because first you didn't read my initial post but you went haywire on it. I thought to myself that engaging you will have no effect but would rather be a lost cause, second reason I allowed you have your opinion/ thread.

However I will like to correct a notion you are trying to impose on my submissions so far, which is : presenting the aggressors as victims or having sympathy for perpetrators and not victims.

Ma,if you read my posts so far with an open mind, you will realize I never imposed or promote any of the notions above. You simply thought that's what I was doing because you are tensed and kind of sentimental here. But rather I only suggested a sentiment free logical 'possible' explanations for the discourse. I'm not shifting blames or vindicate Rapists, I never did and never will . Rather I presented them as lab rats that can be used to find solutions for the societal problem. If you see this thread as a conference meeting where a group of diplomats are discussing an issue facing them or their community, perhaps it will help you to see things from a clear perspective.

Now to your question, which I may only respond to once because I hate repetitions, I'm loosing interest in this thread and I am trying to obey your "open a thread on Male Rape and leave this" request, I will make it brief as well.
The two are interwoven.

First a molested male child has been psychologically shaped to see sex as a 'do or die thing' and that there is nothing like Consent . It will be only logical if one says such child grow up with such mental frame and acts accordingly. Most times we see things happening and react but we don't realize the factors that contributed to such happening. Most times Rapists are made, they are influenced by on thing or the other. And one of such influence comes from what they were exposed to as children. If the first sexual encounter a Child gets is through Molestation or manipulation then how do you expect such child who grew through it with no one knowing relate to sexual matters.? This goes for Nympos and some women with absurd sexual festish. One is left to wonder how a child whose "No" was shut down will respect anyone's "No when he grows.

Two : while some grow with it has a norm, some grow with it has a difilation . These set seek vengeance and result into taking laws into there hands. Some Men still remember the evil done to them while young , evil that can't be shared but they must find a way to let out. October 1st comes to mind. You will agree with me,the effect talking to someone has on people suffering from one difficulty or the other but in situations where problems like rape can't be shared among Males folks, then don't be surprised if it lingers in the heart and bring forth fruits.

Lastly,A molested child has been exposed to abusive use of power. Remember when they were young, the Aunties and Maids were older and they used this and their authority it on them. Now when such child grows into a hefty guy with muscles and sees a petite lady, what do you think will be an hinderance? Pity? Lol was he shown pity? Was he taught? Your guess is as good as mine grin.

Thing is, the society is a circleAnd what goes around comes around. Those things we never paid attention to are coming back to hurt us. My opinion on this and I hope this time you will see where I'm coming from.

the one asking women to go along with pepper spray and try not to get raped I ask you madam what about the babies? Even baby girls in diapers are not even safe, so where do we keep their own pepper spray?

Girls being raped by their OWN father's have you seen a story of a boy child raped by their mothers?!

I've a son and also a daughter, I am very protective of them both and I've never ever had a live in nanny because I fear for their safety..

Do you know that they're private schools they do NOT hire male teachers? So if you like confront the truth,if you like deflect but you and I know you will feel safer if your daughter and son is in a crowd filled with women than men.

Not all men are rapists but it's time for all men to speak against rape.

Thank you for reading and understanding.

A lot of people that have come on this thread have tried to deflect from the topic, and remove blame from the perpetrators.

Thank you for your words of wisdom. As parents, we sub consciously assume our kids are safer with women, and it is for a reason, many would rather ignore.

So that means Nigerian women are meant to be the number 1 rapists in the world going by this logic of yours because almost every Nigerian woman who grew up here, lived here and still lives here have been sexually abused.

Heck even a Nigerian baby girl isn't safe from her own father, brother and uncles so how come we've not been "pyscologically shaped to see sex as a do or die affair"?!

Why are women not taking out their rape experiences out on men?!

What you're doing right now it's exactly what white people do when they say all lives matter, no body is saying women don't rape men but check the statistics compared to men.

This is just Monday and so far I read over 3 stories of rape committed against young girls, what about the ones being covered up so shame will not be "brought to the family" meanwhile the victims mental health isn't considered still she doesn't go about raping men.

If a man is raped as a child how about speaking out and making sure the rapist is jailed or even shamed. Why take it out on a woman that has no part in it?

Your post is totally disgusting seriously. This isn't even a thread gender war.

No matter what you say after not it's 100% clear you're a rape apologist.

It is just so draining trying to reason with you lots! See the possible cause and fix it but No you will rather play the victim card and wail online. Until you all stand against rape across all genders you may never achieve a sane society, that's the bitter reality. Look at India, the number of rape cases has been contained, though they have so many of it than Nigerians. The Women stood up and fought against it! They protest and have Women communities that handle Rapists. They either beat up rapists caught themselves or hand them over to the police with close follow. But Nigerian women will rather hide behind keypads and rant! Take action! Stop ranting!

Same Nigerian women that will concede with their husbands to cover Rape cases, they will rather shut their mouths up than rise to fight,The only place their voices are heard is on the internet where they aren't known

Almost all Nigerian Women have been raped? Lol Interesting! Which statistics did you use to arrive at that?

Madam, to me your reasoning is far beyond disgusting! You are illogical and this will be my first any only response to you on this.

Says the person trying to undermine the rape culture of women in Nigeria.

Rape in India has been contained?! I guess the rape statistics in India that says a woman in India is raped every 15 minutes even in 2020 is false because you said so.

You come online parroting nonsense, meanwhile the reality on ground is what I would tell you and everyone who say and believe the truth will know.

Almost every Nigerian WOMAN has been sexually assaulted thats what I said and truth is it's only an illogical human being like you that would throw tantrums when you couldn't even get the point.

NIGERIAN women should fix society? Nigerian Women cover up their husbands? Can you please hide you face madam. In the world over women cover up for their spouses so it's not a Nigerian "women" thing.

How do you expect Nigerian women to fix society when we've women like you in that same society?! And it will be fallacy for you to think we only talk online go to court and police station then come back and hang your head in shame.

You are so disgusting woman so disgusting, you claim men a raping women because they were raped and I asked you why aren't women who were raped also raping men?!

The kids in diapers being raped tell me oh sensible on where they're meant to keep their pepper spray you suggested.

Why? And we really want to curb Female rape?

Do you know that most male rapist are psychologically disturb lots, some of whom form their sexual orientations from past molestations by Aunties and Maids ? A molested male child will grow to be a rapist because that was what he was exposed to while growing (although not in all cases) But it is interwoven.

Until we are able to read what goes on in a Rapist mind we may never be able to find solutions. The best we will all do is to scream and rant like what we have been seeing everywhere.

We need to fight RAPE across all genders ! And yes Men get rape too!

Be blessed jaree.....
You get too much sense.....
Your second sentence is a small research I did and it surmounted to what you said .....

Some of these men were raped by older females and they think it's normal to do so.......
It's a circle......

I would have told you a small story but I would leave it out

Everything you have said is brilliant, and for the religious ones who need proof from scripture, in Matthew 5 Vs 28, Jesus says whoever looks at a woman lustfully has committed adultery in his heart. See how the responsibility is on the man to control himself, regardless of what the woman is wearing, or where she is, or what she has done. Men should be responsible! Say no to rape

safarigirl:
Since 1973 to 2020, of the thousands of rape cases that have occurred and been reported in Nigeria, only 65 have led to convictions.

This thread is something I have been thinking of since yesterday that I've been reading on the horrible things done to women in this country, but seeing that Genevieve thread and the responses on Nairaland, from the same men that hide and support these rapists amongst them, I am now moved to start the thread.

NIGERIAN MEN, CALL YOURSELVES TO ORDER.

It is bad enough that most of you are totally ignorant of the ingredients that constitute rape, but the fact that the few educated ones stay silent, thereby encouraging these fiends, is even more disturbing.

WOMEN LIVE IN FEAR OF MEN. Women cannot go out at night, because of fear of being raped. Women cannot walk down a street filled with men, without the fear of being molested, women cannot go into a car filled with men, for fear of being kidnapped or being molested. A woman goes into a room filled with men, and the entire time, she is on edge, looking for other women. Women cannot go to clubs, unless they are in groups, and they still have to look out for eachother. You can not go and have fun, without thinking of worst case scenario as a woman.

Men, CAN YOU RELATE?

CAN YOU RELATE TO LIVING IN PARANOIA FOR MOST OF YOUR LIFE? CAN YOU?

DO YOU FEEL FEAR WHEN YOU WALK INTO A ROOM FULL OF WOMEN? DO YOU SEE A BUS OR CAR FILLED WITH WOMEN AND DECIDE TO WAIT FOR ANOTHER ONE? DO YOU CROSS THE ROAD WHEN YOU SEE A GROUP OF WOMEN AHEAD OF YOU?

There is NO AGE of women that do not feel this fear. You are not too young or too old for a man to rape you. From one day old to 101 years old, rape can meet you anywhere.

At HOME, you are raped
At SCHOOL, rape
At your job, rape
Even In CHURCH, RAPE.

Where is our sanctuary? When does it stop? Does being a woman mean a life of constant fear? Did we choose this? Who trained these men?

WHAT IS WRONG WITH ALL OF YOU?

Then, when women say they live in fear of men, you lot come with the usual trash:

"Not All Men"
"Some of us are good"
And my personal favorite, "Plus your father and brothers"

Is it not fathers and brothers of people, raping others?

How do we know who is and who isn't a rapist?

If a SARS or Police officer stops you on the road as a man, do you know who is dangerous and who isn't? When you call for the END of SARS, do you care which of them is good and who is bad? Why not say "Some SARS officials?" Why not say "Not all Police officers?"

That is what Genevieve and many women mean. Not all men arerapists, but are we supposed to wait and find out who is dangerous?

AS WOMEN, WE LIVE IN CONSTANT FEAR OF MEN.

Rape happens to all genders and either gender can be the aggressor, but if you did a survey today and asked 10 Men and 10 Women, if they had been molested or raped, more women will have faced these things than men.

If you walk down ANY street and ask MEN, "WHO IS MORE LIKELY TO BE A VICTIM OF RAPE BETWEEN A MAN AND A WOMAN?" YOU, the same men, will admit that WOMEN are more likely to be victims.

Why do you think so?

DON'T BE AN INSENSITIVE TW#T, DON'T TELL US MEN ALSO GET RAPED. THAT IS EQUAL TO WHEN BLACKS ARE PROTESTING THAT BLACK LIVES MATTER, ONLY TO BE TOLD ALL LIVES MATTER.

We are not saying men do not get raped, we are saying, in this moment, the topic is women. STICK TO THE TOPIC

It is convenient, that men will never bring up the abuse of other men, unless women want to talk about women getting abused.

We Are Fighting One Cause At A Time. Do not distract from one cause, or reduce the weight of it, by bringing up your own. THIS IS NOT SUFFERHEAD OLYMPICS. YOU WILL NOT GET A MEDAL FOR BEING THE MOST RAPED GENDER.

Men, CALL YOURSELVES TO ORDER. REFLECT ON YOURSELVES. YOU KNOW RAPISTS.

That your friend that drugs women when you go out- RAPIST
The one that threatens unwilling women to have sex with him- RAPIST
The jokes about "If she chop my money, I go chop her"- RAPIST
" She spent the night in my house, she dey mad wey I no go smash?"- RAPIST
"Wetin carry her go there?"- RAPIST
" Dress well and you will not ksgfjsozndoxn"- RAPIST.

AS A MAN THINKETH, SO IS HE

It's all fun and games in Nigeria, until you need to travel abroad and someone brings up your Rapey posts from the internet.

DON'T WORRY, YOUR RAPIST FRIEND WILL NOT GO TO JAIL, THE NUMBER OF CONVICTIONS IS ON THEIR SIDE, JUST TELL US, CALL THEM OUT, LET US KNOW AND AVOID THEM. DON'T SIT BY AND ALLOW WOMEN JUMP BLINDLY INTO DANGER.

NIGERIAN MEN, CALL YOURSELVES TO ORDER

Until you women stand up against women raping young boys and men I could give zero fvcks if women are raped, you women thought them how to rape remember, starting from when you women touch the small boys sexually.

Zero fvcks given, zero fvcks taken. If you don't like my post you can commit suicide grin grin

You see, to deal with a problem, start from the root....
Just like a tree...if you like cut it anyhow, if you don't cut it off from the root then you're wasting your time

This rape is a cycle
