When it comes to money, only few people can be honest. And most people are wired to simply scam those sending money from obodo oyibo because they think money grows on trees there.... It's simply pathetic. Na wetin dey happen for our political economy... Contractors will eat money and jot build roads, politicians will embezzle money and not provide social amenities. This rot is simply in the people. 1 Like |

FlordFlorez:Leave that talk, some Nigerians are crooks and very undisciplined to the core. You can be an engineer or whatever if that person don't have a good moral conduct, the person would still steal. You can't compel someone not to steal or not. This is an ethics we must adhere to. 5 Likes |

A Nigerian based in US travelled down to Nigeria and arrested his younger brother for a land bought in the town's outskirt full of bushes around and a quack project done for him in Benin. A close associate, An architect precisely, was initially contacted, contracted to get a land in GRA and suppose to handle the job but greed sifted the young fella away. Long story indeed! Family and friends are strong ropes of downfall tied to many. Cut it off 9 Likes |

I think its a Nigerian thing. Most people are just too greedy and will just want to drain you. Most of my clients are yankee based. What we usually do, is to install a CCTV camera on site, for clients that are not really technologically versed or interested in the projects. For others we create an excel file, that shows daily activities on site. This is updated daily on dropbox for the client to see at anytime. For example, the amount of cement, blocks, sand, granite and iron rods delivered / or used is indicated, along with g pictures of delivery. It can sometimes be cumbersome and expensive, it removes issues if waste and distrust. 2 Likes |

Waste of money.time energy. You living in the USA and you building a house in Nigerian Now my question is this why Nor use the money to buy house over there in the USA give it to agent for renting why nor use the money to start business in the US because is better for you to be comfortable where you living than building empire state where you don't know when you going to see the house or sleep over Be wise beware 11 Likes |

Am into Properties ,I have heard several issues like this ,Many at home that have people abroad are heartless ,No money is not Picked on the Street,I have about two Clients that does not trust any of there people anymore ,They gave me the right to procure a Property for them which they came last December to see with all Valid Documents and they Left .It's very Painful ,Strange enough they will start to go fetish so that the owner of the property won't come home and if he does ,Assassinating him will be there Plans .What a wicked world We are .My Advise : If you already have a resident permit Abroad ,Don't send money to anyone ,Transfer ur Funds here ,Come over and get Property for yourself or rather open a Domiciliary Account and begins to Transfer money earned into it so when you get to Naija you can get your things done . 7 Likes 1 Share |

The story of people at abroad sending money to family, friends and in-laws to build for them is not new in our country. And I believe they should have learned from others. Why not give the job to a reputable contractor, builder, Engineer, and let your family or whatsoever monitor the company for transparency. People fall victim for this family members. Some don’t have anything in this country all because they can’t do without family members in their life. 1 Like |
