Officialgarri:You not informing the guy is not because you can't, but rather because you don't want to get involved. He is someone's brother for God's sake and could be your brother too. U know if you want to, you can go out of your way to inform this guy. U don't need to tell you how. Pls |

Its unfortunate Well Its still redeemable if they can get over the size of the rooms They should chain again on top what has been built Meaning the lintel is at 2350 which is the 11 coarse of block work An electric cutter should be used to remove the former lintel regions crossing the new French windows The reinforcement has to be improved 12mm was used but the stirrup spacing should be reduced to 300 |

Now, you don't have to fall for those scam. I discovered this company that assist Africans in Diaspora to actually see there project on real time in the devices anywhere in the world. As an independent party to your building project, you can see live at what stage your project is. No sending of another site pictures to clients.

Well...things like this happen...I can remember handling a project for a lady who resides in the U.S...everything had gone fine...from the foundation to blockworks, roofing and plastering.. Only for her brother to show up on site and started passing comments..I had to hands off the project and allow him take over which I learnt they later spent over 8m on the project and the client couldn’t still pass a night in the house when she visited Nigeria...but at least I allowed them satisfy their conscience. |

There is one that they were sending pictures of another person's building only for him to return unannounced to meet undeveloped half plot. Gigac1: |

This is an all side need to be heard story; because it has many angles. I don't condone idiotic and selfish moves. A life cursing self inflicted move. One of my question to the sender is: Did you sort out transportation, information flow, and some money for a reasonable keep up. Did you show conscience for the time, the health, the new family (if one), and the potential to be self reliant from somewhere else. The thieves here are very guilty as charged because they didn't factor in their concerns to the sender when they were planing. This is a typical Nigerian issue, no plan no vision. Just begging, apprico-ing, and stealing from all. |

Good day Nairalanders! Please i"m sorry to bring this here, please bear with me. I am a graduate of Education/Guidance & Counselling ( Bsc/B.Ed) . I'm open to any job offer in Lagos and Ibadan, not necessarily a white collar job cos I believe we (job seekers) should all start from somewhere and experience is also important.. I need your assistance please. Thanks Josnac: |

Josnac:The fleecing of relatives abroad is such a wicked phenomenon among our people. If they buy land for N2 million, they will charge you N8 million naira for it. If you send them money to build a house for you, they will use your money to build their own house. It is so sad, but it has also deprived Nigeria A LOT of investment because our people rarely invest in Nigeria until they are able to supervise it. Personally, I would advise people to simply save their money abroad until they are able to comeback and build. Going through relatives is just setting yourself up for heartbreak. |

mufutau55:It is sad. My brother completed my house for me without asking for a penny. As a reasonable man i knew what needed to be done to compensate him. He utilized funds sent to him wisely. This is why i dont understand why some family members betray their trust. It hurts. |

Empiree:I understood exactly what you meant. I had a junior brother also completed a duplex for me from foundation to finish and I never saw it.. until opening day. Although I was monitoring it remotely thru Whatsapp. There are some family members you can trust, but most of them cannot be trusted. Pray you have a good family member o. It's sad when your own mother or father can even scam you. Very sad indeed. God keep helping us o. Hajji M. |

Even some engineers and contractors are not to be trusted. I know of a guy who sent his elder bro money to buy a land for him in owerri. And also money to get a car, though he bought the car in his own name and didn't buy the land na the matter we still dey settle. No land no money. The man even didn't use the money to take care of himself, now this guy gave the money for the land to some other person who got him the land |

Personally my experience of sending money home for construction was excellent. My tact was making sure that the entity had meat on the bone. It’s risky though but I made sure that I had video graphic evidence of each stage of work. Good luck. |
