I think some people are confusing conditional offer with unconditional offer.

If the uni request you to pay a fee or submit any document before issuing you a CAS that’s conditional offer.

An unconditional offer wouldn’t request you to do anything.

I disagree. Conditional offer is when they still need few documents from you (IELTS or proof of English proficiency, or any other documents, etc) before issuing unconditional offer & CAS, while unconditional offer is when they don’t need any document from you before issuing you CAS. Paying deposit doesn’t have to do with unconditional offer. It’s only a proof for them to show that you’re interested in studying (commitment) in the institution and they’ll book a seat for you.

My offer states “Unconditional offer”. For them to keep a seat for me I have to pay 1k GBP deposit.

Will use myself as an example.I got a conditional offer from Uclan and guess what was the condition to pay a deposit of 3500.

I did not even know it was a conditional offer...I was thinking it was unconditional because of the deposit.

I had to go through the offer again and I noticed it was a conditional offer.

Sometimes conditional could mean paying of deposit or submitting more documents.

That's why you have to go through offer very well so you don't make any mistakes. Even their terms and conditions still go through it.

An unconditional offer can be issued with non academic conditions. Like submitting a valid passport.

Well, mine stated unconditional offer. Kindly see the attached.

You can't use one school offer to disagree with someone's statement.

If you haven't experienced it then don't say you disagree.

Thats why I used myself as an example and mentioned the school when you said you disagree with Omopapa.

Every school has their own policy and conditions.

I used mine as an example;
I got two university admission offer. One was conditional while the other was unconditional.

The conditional requested for proof of English proficiency or IELTS and financial statement

Unconditional offer didn’t state the above. But only requested for 1k GBP deposit before issuance of CAS.

The bolded is true, nothing to drag about.
It depends on the institution concerned, it defers.

What you just mentioned is normal.

I just corrected you that paying deposit can be categorize under conditional offer and that could be the only condition.

BU gave me unconditional offer and ask me to get one more academic referee and pay my 2k pounds to secure my CAS

NTU asked me to pay £3k as deposit and to buy Waec scratch card as a condition.

Birbeck asked me to pay £200 for CAS and do ielts.

University of Kent said I must get another referee, do ielts and pay deposit of £2000. I sha drag the first two with them say my referee sent his reference from a valid school address and that I have Waec. So they removed those two as conditions.

City university asked me to do ielts too.

Hi all, please when applying for the Tier 4 visa,

1. Is there any special advantage of using the self service to upload one's documents in comparison to submitting at the visa application center and having them upload the required documents at the visa application center?

2. Is there a limit to the number of documents that one can upload using the self service option? Cos I don't know if the visa application center can upload more documents than one using the self service option to do it by one's self at home before going for biometrics..

Please those with experience on this should help
Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by mimilyrics: 7:32pm On Jun 06, 2020
1. No special advantage except that you'd be sure that you didn't miss out any document. You can use TinyScan app to scan, resize and save as pdf. You will pay to have it scanned at the VAC.

2. No limit to the number of documents but there's a size limit of about 5mb for each upload.
Whatever you pay for the VAC assisted service upload (£25.20 / N11,700) covers all documents to be scanned.

If the uni attach any condition to an offer it becomes conditional, an unconditional offer means u have already met the requirements and the offer is yours to accept

An unconditional offer can be issued with non academic conditions. Like submitting a valid passport.

Hello everyone.
I am new on this forum..
If I may ask? Can a husband sponsor his wife?
What sites tier 4, tier 2 means?
Thank you
Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by omopapa: 9:18pm On Jun 06, 2020
Usually when you get an unconditional offer of employment for example, it means you have met all the requirements of the job and fully employed

but if u get a conditional offer, then it means your offer is subject to pre-employment checks like references, CRB, occupational health and the likes

Same applies to uni, except that some unis might be using the term wrongly. Read up on the difference here if in doubt

Not directly but the husband can transfer the
Tuition + maintenance funds into the wife's account or their joint account. Funds for Tier 4 visa has to be in the student's account or the account of the student's parents or guardians.
The husband can apply for a dependant visa at the same time as his wife or later. For dependant visas, funds can be in the main applicant's account (the wife), the dependant's account (the husband) or a joint account.

Tier 4 is for study visas while Tier 2 is for work visas.

Only parents or legal guardians (you must have court documents to prove legal guardianship)can sponsor a Tier 4 visa applicant who isn't sponsoring him/herself. No other family member can sponsor a Tier 4 applicant for visa purposes.
Any other family member who wants to sponsor has to pay the money to your account or your parent/guardian's account as those are the only accounts whose bank statements you can submit.
Money has to be held for 28 days prior to your T4 application.

Other sources of funding include
1. Scholarships from official financial sponsors i.e a Tier 4 sponsor (the university or an independent school where the student will be studying), international companies/organisations, Nigerian government (your home govt), the British govt & British Council.

2. Loans from financial institutions approved and regulated by CBN.
