Thanks for your response, I really appreciate.

WRT your response to question 5. do I need to have that amount in my account before we can get the visa if I'm studying on a fully funded scholarship from a government agency?

As per my niece, any hint on adopting her to make her my legal dependent?
How do I get the paper work, I don't want any shortcut that will affect our chances of getting the visa

Aside the helpful response above. For the visa application process you will need to budget about 3M.
2M for IHS fees depending on exchange rate, about 185k for medicals and around 750k or thereabouts for study visa application fees for you and your dependents.
The government has proposed a 2years post study visa starting with those finishing summer 2021. We are keeping fingers crossed as this should be firmed up soon.
Read up earlier pages as their are lots of helpful info too.

Thanks for this response, I'm grateful.

Does the scholarship cover family members? If not, then you need to get the amount for dependents available ineither your account or your wife's account. maintenance fee is 6,200 per dependent, IHS fee 450, visa fee $463 I think (i'm not too sure what the current price is)...

On adoption, I am not sure of hat the steps are, you need to consult legal professionals.. because she is still a child, this option is still viable. You can read more online...sorry I couldn't help you more. I know you will to show proff that you have responsible for her upkeep like paying school fees, also you will need to justify why you are adopting( are her parents late? is your wife her only living relative? etc..)

P.S: I just googled and it seems not much definite information on this.. so please seek legal counsel..

For clarity sake, I intend to apply alongside my wife as her dependant, aside maintenance funds and balance of the tuition that need be in her account for the stipulated time, do I (her husband) need to provide any other financial Evidence?
Thanks!

Does that include your own maintenance money?

@Justwise
Good Morning

1. If for instance, I fund my account with 2M and it's enough for my maintenance and the remainder of my tuition fees. If after let's say 10 days, someone credited my account with 2M and on the same day I withdraw the 2M. have I broken the 28days rule?

2. part of the money in my account will be restricted-though it will not affect the balance but not all bank staff can print the account statement.wil this be a problem if the embassy/my school check the account?

1. No

2. I don’t quite understand your question

A family member will help with part of the fund for my account only on the condition that I will give him a letter he will take to my bank requesting that the same amount he will put into my account should be restricted and made available to only him at the end of the process

the money will reflect on the balance but not all bank staff can print the account statement.

Will the embassy know that some part of the fund is restricted? if yes is it against the rules?

No other financial evidence is needed for you as long as your full maintenance funds will be in your wife's account as you stated.

Is he doing this so that you don’t run away with his cash and start yarning stories that touch? Or is he loaning you the cash just to fulfil the visa requirements? If it’s the latter then yeah, you’re asking for people to help you ‘be dodgy’.

I am giving you the benefit of doubt because I am in the family member’s shoes and it’s a very very sensitive issue. If I move 10m+ to a cousin’s account and, God forbid, Covid visit am or he just goes rogue on me (e dey happen).....that’s it, no?
