That's fine..First assignment 1) what subject are you interested in and have passion for and what is your budget

2) Look for schools and courses in the UK that fit that budget, use Google to do so.

3)Check to see what the course content is, the degree awarded ,school fees etc and then write the top 3 you might consider..

Come back to the house for more direction..You need to take it one day/information at a time

Your next post should be ,I am considering School A,School B or School C..then we continue with more assignments . You will get there if you are patient and do your part in searching

Some schools are offering quarantine accommodation for international students, confirm from your school and if not you could raise this up as a concern

Cheers

Thanks. I'm aware of similar arrangement but what if one doesn't want to stay on campus?

You need to apply for a tier 4 visa to study in the UK; It enables you to work 20 hours during term time.

First you'll need to know what course you'd like to study and search for schools with your course on offer as advised by duchess90. Don't just do a course because you want to study abroad.

It's not same fee across universities. The £15,000 is an estimate for 1-year tuition fees (it could be lower or higher) so if your course is for 1 year at 15k, you'd need to show £15,000 + 9 months maintenance (£1,015*9 for outside London and £1,265*9 for London). You'd also need IHS for 1 year (currently £300 per year + £150 for any extra time 6 months and below), TB test fees of about N60,000 for TB test in Nigeria + ticket fare + visa fees of £348.

If it's a 3-year course multiply £15,000 by 3 (you'll only need to show for 1 year when applying for visa) + IHS (300*3++150 =£1,150) + visa fees of £348 + TB test fees of about N60,000 for TB test in Nigeria + 9 months maintenance (£1,015*9 for outside London and £1,265*9 for London).

There are usually discounts/scholarships for most schools so the cost might or might not be lower depending on the course you choose.

[thanks for your response... I intend to stay back and any courses would do..

My friend is studying and working at the same time and that's what I intended d to do also.. She is doing her masters.. Please the 15,000 ponds is it for the whole course?i mean the 3years or just for a year?

Good evening sister.
Please relax..you came here for help and help you will get.

Now that agent is looking for easy clients, so he told you that. UK is not Canada..even for their citizens, there is called Mature student.

Even if you don't have a first degree, but you have been doing business, even with your personal accounts. So I think with proper preparation, you should be fine.

Let's take it one issue at a time.

1) Which course are you interested in doing? Is it business related or any field? You need to decide this first.
2.) Do you have the finances for schooling in the UK? The average amount for undergraduate studies in the UK is around 15k pounds (for school fees alone for international students) + 9200 for maintenance..= 24 -25k pounds ( 12 -13m naira). Undergraduate programs are 3 years.. calculate that cost..
3) If you just want to relocate, the nI would advise also considering other european countries like Germany/Netherland/Norway/Sweden etc...
4) You wll need to do your research...it is very important in this relocation journey..
5) For UK, the first step is getting the admission, other things will follow if you do the right things and follow the process
6) If someone wants to employ you as their child care giver, there's a lot process and the length of time you can stay there is not long.. so check and verify
7) Any other thing that doesn't sound right or legal ..I can't talk about it as I don't condone it nor use it.. so I am unable to answer that question

Okido..your responses will help us help you better.. so over to you..
Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by duchess90(f): 8:27pm On Jun 22, 2020
To be honest,we just have to see how things pan out for new intakes..I know alot of schools are engaging with prospective students now, people have raised this up and there are considerations on providing quarantine accommodation till enrollment for free or at fair cost and then after that you either enter full rental agreement with school's accommodation or leave
to find yours. I guess you have to look out for what might be attainable at your school.

All the best

If you go to the UK with study visa, you are entitled to study and work, with certain conditions..if it is visa, you are not allowed to work.
And if you overstay your visa terms.. OYO is your case. Uk is not USA where you can easily get lost in the system..y ou would find it really difficult to cope.. always hiding from the security and no matter the number of years you would have spent there..it does not count..so I would advise sternly against it.
Your friend is doing a Master's program, so it's either a 1yr or 2-yr program. It would be quite difficult for you to get a Masters' admission without a first degree. So you have think aong the lines of getting a first degree.

The 15k is for one year..so for 3 years, that comes to 45k for school fees alone.. shocked

[thanks so much... Since I have been using my personal account for all my transactions and my monthly income is not fixed since I'm into business.. I just keep.making deposits and withdrawals when there is need to. Can I still use the statement of my personal account since my monthly income is not even.. quote author=mimilyrics post=90959089]Thanks for the clarification. A Nigerian employer can't sponsor a UK work visa except they have a subsidiary + T2 license in the UK.
Aside from the money, the rules have changed a lot with lots of restrictions as a result of human trafficking amongst other reasons. You can now only spend 6 months in the UK on the domestic worker visa (you'd also need to have worked as a help for 1 year prior to application) and it's subject to your employer's stay in the UK. If you're looking at moving to the UK, biko negodu that route. Pls don't be too desperate to move from Nigeria to avoid falling victim of misrepresentation, scams or other undesirable schemes.

Your friend's company can sponsor you to study in the UK if it's an international company; the company can't sponsor your visa as a domestic staff without justifying it with payslips, employment confirmation e.t.c.
If you're interested in a visit visa, ensure that your company is paying you (pay yourself a salary even if you are a sole proprietorship) because a company's funds isn't for personal use. You can back your personal account showing your salary for 6 months + your company docs. This shows that you have funds available to you + ties that to Nigeria.
If you would like to study, you can but you'd need to do your findings and be prepared for the attendant financial investment required. Don't make any decision in a hurry to avoid filling in information that could come back to bite you in the a**.

For someone who studied English for first degree in Nigeria..what course is suitable for masters in the UK? Can one study French or any foreign language in the Uk..I anticipate your favorable responses

There are lots of courses you can study as an English Language Graduate from media, Marketing, education to linguistics.

As for foreign Language courses you might be interviewed or your experience might be required.

Hello all,

Please I have question to ask for those of that live/study in the UK.

Firstly, i got admission in the university of Liverpool, and would want to travel with my spouse For study. My passport is still bearing my maiden name, though I have done the newspaper publication for change of name. I want to know if it will raise a red flag or not or should I just renew the passport? I got married in 2016,and renewed my passport last year in my maiden name

Secondly, if I’m not traveling with him as a third tier dependent, will using a passport bearing my maiden name be an obstacle of any sort?

Thirdly, I am not so buoyant but can pay my initial tuition deposit, and the deposit to be made upon arrival, is England a place one can possibly get a job and foot her other bills?

Thanks for your anticipated response.

@Laajiblik and Yimi4real. Thanks for the heads up. It's a great thing to know that the 14 days quarantine rule is being debated.
Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by mimilyrics: 9:32pm On Jun 22, 2020
1. You don't need a newspaper publication; your wedding certificate (in addition to other evidence) is okay to show marital links for your T4 visa and you're not required to change your name after marriage.
2. I guess you mean tier 4. Using your maiden name won't be an obstacle.
3. You'd need to show that the funds you require have been held in your account in the manner specified by UKVI. Finding a job ASAP will be dependant on your location; sometimes, it takes more than a month to find a job. Even if you do find a job as soon as you arrive, it might only be just enough for your bills/maintenance. Making enough money before your tuition payment deadline will be difficult on a 20-hour minimum wage job plus you'd be too worried about your fees to be able to effectively engage with your course.
If you get a minimum wage (£8.72) job, you'll be making 174.4 per week and £697.6 per month minus rent and bills of about £290-450 (assuming you get a room in a shared house inclusive of bills) plus estimated food and transport costs of about £150 and have just about £50 leftover per month which is not even close to a quarter of what your outstanding fees will be.

Thanks for the reply. Meanwhile we have only wedded in Catholic Church, does marriage certificate issued by Catholic Church suffice? Alternatively, if no, Marriage certificate Issued by a local government, does it suffice as well?

It suffices as long as the church is licensed to conduct wedding ceremonies.

No, you don't need that once all the required funds are in your account for the stipulated period. You only need sponsor SOA and letter if your parents are sponsoring you and the money (your full tuition fee or balance + maintenance) is in their account(s).

This sounds like a good news. TLS contact opened in Abuja and Lagos. I guess they are waiting for domestic flights and international space resumption from Nigerian government officially so they can run in full capacity. The opening for passport collection only will also enable them deal with some back logs too.

Fingers crossed
