Let me break it down for you, even as much as our God is a merciful God and once u become new, that is accepting God as your lord and personal saviour then all your sins are forgiven eg the thief that gave his life on the cross. Secondly given your life to God does not mean you wont pay for the sin you commited on earth just that you wont be conderm to another punishment after becoming a new being. Some examples, Moses just saw the promise land he never entered the promise land cos he disobeyed God, David cos of his sin, God broke Israel into different countries, solomon non of his children ruled isreal or judea, Eli he lost his 2 sons, saul lost his throne to David, etc. You will surely pay for your sins on earth.

Did i say your past wont be forgiven but you will surely pay for your sins on earth examples when a convict gives his live to christ inside the prison, why is he not released cos he as changed or y didn't God bring him out of there, some are still executed been a born again and some will pay for thier sins completeing their jail term. That is their punishment on earth. Been born again does not mean u will go free u will still pay for your sins. Have u not seen people that cheats and when they got born again came out to say the cheat? even thou they lost everything they started all over again on a clean slate. What dey lost is the punishment.

This aspect of Christianity was one of the reasons I left the church. After contemplating on it at a time I was a very devout Christian, I decided to take the easy way of course. Enjoy my life to the fullest and then at the last minute repent and go to the heaven instead of suffering trying to live the Christian life and be sent to hell because of a slight infraction. It just didn't make sense.

What changed my perspective was my personal experiences. As I was living and enjoying my life I noticed something strange that wasn't explained very well to us in Christianity.
I noticed that the things I did both good and bad were coming back to me within short periods of time. If I cheat someone within a few months I will lose up to 10 times the amount I got from the deal. I had earlier thought that these reaping can only be done after death during judgement day.
Which I can still escape by accepting Christ at the last minute as the thief at the cross did.

I started searching for answers which culminated in my finding the path of ECKANKAR.
All the questions and confusions about spirituality came to an end. Now I know the truth and the truth has set me free.

These are people who were caught by earthly folks and dealt in an earthly manner. I meant a repenting to god.

For instance, if you were a killer or a thief that repented and not incarcerated by the law how do you pay back for your sins... Will god kill one of your kids or make your business crumble or something?
