True that some turn out well in life, but not "consistently". I'll say Nigeria enjoys communal living. Even if there's a child being raised by a single parent, the extended family usually cover-up the lapses as we believe that children may be born by two people, but that it takes a community to raise him.

If you take time to ask or research, the fact is that most delinquent kids roaming the streets are either from homes of single parents or a polygamous homes.

Many reasons, the primary one being the economy situation of the country. Research has shown that when the economy improves, weddings pick up. When the economy crashes, weddings falls. This is very simple, I think.
