I'm here to tackle the post "At What Age Should An Adult Leave Their Parents’ House?". Forgive my English cause I'm a drop out. Lolx

Read through almost all the comments on that thread and all I can say is most NL members are just chasing clout... Bloody liars.

Some said they left their parents house age 17,20 and 22! Oh continue! You left your parent house to where.? Your own rented apartment? Or to squart with a friend or cousin? Or to live under the bridge?. Tell us! What is a 17yrs old doing to survive? You be footballer or you be musician? And to the ladies commenting a man should leave at least before clocking 25yrs.. Your senior bro who is 25yrs or above is still living with your parent and yet you're advising innocent soul on this faceless forum to leave their parent.
Why do we all chose to lie to hurt people reading comments to learn and grab a few hint?

How many guys within 22-30yrs old doing legit can boost of 100k in their account? How many are gainful employed? How many of them are you patronising their businesses?

Kings life is no competition, live and let's live, don't let no one pressure you into depression, been that road and back... Yes there is nothing wrong being with your parents till 30yrs or more, there's more to this life than just faking reality!

There are men who are building their own house from their parent home! As long as your parent house provides you a room, abeg save money!

The question should be... at what age does living in your parents house become unacceptable.

Like I said in that other thread, the discussion of when to leave without a pressing need to do so is a lower income/poor man question.

If your parents can comfortably house you with a bit of privacy, stay put and leverage on their housing as much as possible to build wealth.

Some people have saved their rents while at home and moved from their parents' home to their own home.

Only ensure that while at your parents', you pick some bills as a sign of maturity and responsibility:

I am sure that when you get to a certain age, your parents will acknowledge you have relationships and give you the needed space if you are not changing partners like underwears.

No sensible parent would stop a young man/lady of 24/25 years from a weekend getaway at a lover's place or hotel if you have established the relationship at home and you have proven to be responsible especially sexually.

Neither would they stop you for a late night hang out once in a while with friends.

Obviously coming back home drunk the first time might tell them you are not mature enough to handle such privileges going forward.

I don't subscribe to any of the posts but I certainly started hustling at age 14, and left home 18. The condition of the home made me look for another home.

I started teaching at 15 after my secondary school. I was also into freelancing. I'll advise you remain home if you receive love and the care you need -- I left because I lacked those.

NIGERIA is so fcked up

people think the suffering we face here will be very important to us later in life

You do not need to suffer(leaving your parents) because you're not supposed to

Do not let any push you to go and "learn" suffering makes a man grin

So if you're below 27, it's time to continue hustling so you can save enough before you leave

I didn't say go and beg your parents money for things like data and clothes

If you can't afford it, please don't leave.

Stay at home.

Peace of mind is the ultimate

You can't be suffering under employment, grilling from your boss, hectic Lagos traffic and other designs by the Nigerian government to frustrate youths and be living in hell on earth.

Without peace of mind, you can't focus on the important things and progress so if staying alone will afford you that (and you can afford it) don't think twice, move out. Because some family members are best related with from afar.

Speaking from experience.

Just don't be lazy. If they are understanding and you can't stand on your own yet better stay. It will be more embarrassing if you have to come back hungry after you proudly left.

Truer words spoken!.

I have a family friend, whose dad has a small bungalow, with other properties rented out.

The man never allowed his sons rent a house outside, he told them if u leave my house, u are moving into yours. And that was it. The First son an engineer married to a medical doctor, still live with his dad.

Second son married, built his own house and packed out.

Third son followed suit before relocating to dubai.

Fourth son, who happened to be last graduated from law school, then moved in to Live with the third son, who later, left naija.

Now, first son has built his first house, but rented all the apartment. Still living with the dad.

Only daughter was the only one who was allowed to leave house to a rented apartment.

I think this leaving house of a thing deals with; Job, liberty to indulge into youthful exuberance and exploration , toxic parents, and poverty.

Freedom is good, poorly handled can be devastating.

I think it is really based on what life shows u after ur education, if u are waiting for job here job there, infact at 28 u will still be home. (That's why we tell undergraduate not to play away their Time in school...if nah book u wan read, die there and get d best....also learn other skills that can at least help after graduation....)

but as a guy, tho may not have money that much, but u can go out and hustle I mean hustle hard and get one small apartment (even if it one room forget about wife or children for now) and start ur own life....

remember the longer u stay at home, the lesser the value u have in that house, from ur parents and ur siblings

my humble submission

but being at home till 30 or above just like op said above, that I don't support ooo....

30 keeeeee?

Do everything at your own pace based on your personal situation, no go form hard guy in the name of independence when no one is chasing you, if you v got a good parent that understands and got access to resources that will give you a solid foundation to kick-start your life, ma Nigga grab it.

Don’t follow the crowd, u see oyinbo pikin we naija say they leave their papa house at 18 na scam o.. This ones while still working stay at their parent house to save rent, and most parents are happy to have them, dey usually move to their own paid apartment from there cos they save up overtime.. Now thats a working society, talkless of naija where e dey hot..

I'm in my early twenties and done with school.
I'm a full time blogger and internet marketer, and was actually planning to rent my own house before the lockdown started.

There's no one disturbing me, the only reason I wanted to leave was to move back to Owerri where there is better electricity to continue my hustle.
That was where I finished from though, and if your parents are not disturbing you, don't listen to any lady telling you that they cannot date any man in their father's house... Lol
Even most of the billionaire kids are still staying with their parents. The free food you're enjoying means a lot, and don't hurry to leave, remember coming back is more difficult.

In my house, I have my full respect. Most times I don't even come outside my room till it's 11 am, especially if there's light. The condition is very conducive for a hustler, and if I leave, I left on my own.
