The bolded is the only correct thing you've said on this matter and I'm sure that you're not the VO so allow him to decide. U should read to understand rather than to just respond. Whether the car is a liability or asset is up to personal opinion and thus, not a fact. And then again,
will attaching it make me not get the visa? I'm sure the answer is No. Then finally, u didn't respond to my enquiry o but chose to attack people that kindly did.. 88, u're not doing well

Having an opinion in an open discussion, doesn't mean one is attacking the other. Difference in opinion helps everyone learn.

Well, that I can't say....

You jz need to keep trying other banks..

Someone here in the forum had same issue, I think last two months with some banks, he had to use his sibling's STANBIC IBTC ATM Card for payment and it went through.

And by the way, hope u input the correct details of the ATM Card in the required field, most especially that 3-digit number at the back of an ATM (Security number), cos that might likely be the cause

Does anyone knows someone who has been admitted into Mcmaster university especially the phd program, Its stated that its mandatory that all applicants should not get a supervisor before applying but will be given one after evaluation of their application if the applicant gets admitted. Please I will like to have more info with respect to anyone's experience with the school. Thanks

In my experience with admission application especially for thesis programs, even when it is not compulsory to get a supervisor prior to application or admission, I won't apply to that program If I don't get a positive response from a supervisor. Remember, this is just my opinion. All the thesis programs I applied to with no positive response from a potential supervisor, even when the school website states categorically that it is not mandatory, I received a rejection mail.

You can try your luck, If you have a strong profile with research experience, that is published research in journals. OR maybe I am wrong and the school is making it mandatory for potential students not to get a supervisor for a PhD program. All the best.

Thank you for your response to my enquiry.
I appreciate it. What I believe Dom means is that a personal ownership of a car shows some form of economic stability in the resident country, even if it may not by interpreted as home tie. If attaching its documents to prove and even projecting it as a source of income in view, won't adversely affect an application, then I think it's ok to add it.
I didn't even know that car docs can be added until I read uploaded documents from previous threads and thought to ask what it aimed at.

You can add it in your application and explain how it will be of an economic benefit while you're away for studies.

My best wishes are with you.

Are you sure you're inputting the informations right. The place that says "CARD PIN" it is not referring to your password rather it is referring to your Security and also make sure you're using stanbic ibtc or ecobank master card.

Thank you and Stay Blessed.

My own car isn't a liability. Hope you'll call your phone a liability as well or even children, siblings. Some families aren't even in talking terms, yet people claim them, how much more a high value property that you personally own. By stating that my car will be leased out in my absence makes it even an asset. You must not add car to your application but I've asked my question, have received all opinions and will add it to mine especially because it is not counter productive, so what's my loss? Absolutely nothing

A car is an asset, but what we call a depreciating asset! If you spend 2 or 3 years in Canada the car u left in Nigeria has depreciated in value by a substantial amount, so it’s that enough to bring you home? Absolutely no! Sometimes google can answer the questions you people come here to ignorantly argue about. And the fact you came here to ask people’s opinions, you should not be rude when they give u answers you don’t want to hear. Nobody is paying anyone for information here, we are all giving it freely. So being nice will mot cost you anything.

Hello all,

Proof of Funds-
1. Reference Letter from my bank with a closing balance of N15million
2. My 1-year Statement of Account from the same bank above
3. Payslips from my previous employer

I agree with you 100%. If you're going to study for a year and you have a (5m plus) 20000 CAD plus vehicle sitting at home. That's a tie. Even if it's a 5000 CAD vehicle, it still adds to your asset. A car alone might not be enough to prove home tie just like how having a family alone is not enough. You have to throw in all you've got and be creative with your story.

I think you should include your shares certificate. If you have a fairly good statement of account, include it too. It does not have to show your salary. People can have 3 accounts. You don't have to include a payslip. Get your employer to write you a letter of study leave. In the letter, make sure to include leave period, your position, salary, contact info of the person that would sign the letter, and that your position would be available upon your return. Then link everything to your economic stability to your home country, under the home tie.
In my opinion, people often get rejected for home ties because of the economic motive to remain in Canada. VO would weigh your economic ties such as current and future job prospects and financial stability in Nigeria to assess this. You should include your siblings' birth certificates too for family ties. I've been advocating for Net worth assessment on this thread as well. You might want to consider it.

Good luck

I still don't understand why prospective applicants have this sense of entitlement on this thread. Exactly my point, no one is paying for anyone's time and advices given here. For the fact that this is a faceless platform, one should be very mindful of their choice of words especially when replying to others. There should be some level of respect and composure on this platform. Let us learn to hide our dirty linen in public discussions and always exhibit the act of tolerance at any slightest provocation. I believe we are all matured and If one is not satisfied with any advice given by a fellow group member, you're free make your personal research without using harsh comments to express our opinions.

I can barely count how many people that I have personally assisted from scratch in this Canadian Visa process which after a few months on arrival in Canada deleted my number LOL grin grin.. i.e after sharing their testimonies on this thread. They didn't even recall back then when there were at my beck and call and the tremendous impact I have instilled in them as at the time of their application. grin grin grin grin. Nigerians we strong o. shocked shocked shocked. How do you think we can grow?. In spite of everything, the discreditable lack of gratitude by these set of people doesn't change my motives nor stop me from helping others reach their Canadian goals faster and easily as well as solving their problems faster and efficiently on this thread. That's why my signature on my profile reads "BE GOOD TO PEOPLE, FOR NO REASON"

Why am I saying all this? I'm urging everyone to try as much as possible to tolerate others and most times overlook certain things. We shouldn't make it look as if we are fighting for something special or in competition with others on this thread. I believe everyone on this thread is here for a purpose which is to acquire relevant informations that will be helpful in their applications. Please let's stick to that narrative as we progress in achieving success.
