Short sellers have been talking about Tesla right from time that it would fall for years, and most are millions of dollars in debt. Elon Musk even tweeted that the share price of Tesla is too high, I believe investors are pricing in the future potential of Tesla tho, it’s a whole new industry and also fear of missing out is also playing a role. This is why Tesla stock is unlikely to fall.

Bill Ackman tried to short an MLM company called “HerbaLife”, he lost close to 1 billion USD. Doesn’t mean he was wrong to try.

The thing to remember though is that the stock market can stay wrong longer than you can stay solvent. So shorting Tesla will most probably be foolish, but I can’t base my investment analogy on the idea that people will keep pushing the price up because of future prospects. Just look at something as speculative as “Bitc01n”. Same problem.

Sometimes short-sellers made wins on Tesla and other times they lost and now they are loosing badly, but let me just say this, when I remember how people bought and made shares of the company called “Hertz” that was bankrupt and had negative shareholder equity, to rise up to the extent that the company were like gee... why don’t we make more shares, and sell to these retail investors so we pay people we owe (their bond was trading at 40 cents on the dollar, that’s how bad things were)... if that kind of thing could happen in this market, I can certainly see in the future that this rally will end in tears...

And there is a high probability that for those who bought “Tesla” at over 500 USD, it will most definitely end in very painful tears.

Northeastern point about growth stock is that investors have priced the company many multiples ahead of its current earnings and are holding the stock at such prices such that once earnings increase significantly, that will reduce the PE from the current high value you stated to a lower value.

But my dear, all those things na HOPE.

I hope for their sake that “earnings” is in their lifetime, I am doing the maths and... lol!

I understand ur predicament. Na so I buy CAVERTON for testing and it has lost 27% since. Na 250k dey there, I don forget am, If it wants make him drop by 70% no wahala. Lol.

but i warned you people that the stock is overvalued at current price. Its on a downward trend and needs to fall very well before any bullish reversal can occur.

However, you can hold if you are not pressed for cash and wait for it to rise before selling.

JB wasnt expected to shed this much but like other good ones, it did.
Anyone entering JB bus is not expected to do so for short term.
My own advice:
Leave it. Don't sell. If you have extra fund buy more to average down your cost price.
Also keep abreast of news around it.

Technically, i knew it was heading south and touched support level @N14.90 (where yours truly picked some units) before bouncng back to close higher.

Again, i will advise to add some TA skills to your FA knowledge. It has really helped me a lot.

Good day Family! Pls I need help here

After I told my eldest sister that am into stocks. She sent me 50k to invest for her on any stocks. Every now and then, she calls on phone asking me ..' How far, any good news? The thing tire me o

I only wanted to take out time to study the markets and buy the best for her. But since the pressure is constant.

I need help on stocks to invest this money to yield a nice interest for her. Please any suggestions is highly appreciated .

Thanks.
You must have told her about some paper gains you made without explaining what stock investing is and how it could go either way(gain/loss) in the short/mid-term horizon. Stock is mainly a long term venture, don't be carried away with the JIJO that you sometimes read here.

Return her money and guide her on how to open a trading account. Show her all you've learnt(FA, TA, etc) then help her with stock picks for a start.

All the best to her.

DOW, NASDAQ and S&P 500 bleeding...

The planned $3T stimulus package needs to be passed fast to reflate the economy to restore investors confidence.

We continue to observe.

I download 5 years worth of annual reports from the companys website, extract the data I need and enter it onto a spreadsheet... From it, I calculate all the ratios and figures...

If you know how to use Microsoft excel, its pretty straightforward...

You make so much when you buy low and hold long until something grave deviates the pricing (due to fear). Not when you do JIJO.

Anyway, you will not understand until you grow in this market.

Well like they say Bulls make money, Bears make money and pigs get slaughtered. Analysts were yelling Amazon is overpriced years ago but of course it would still face reversals.

We will all be here na.

It is far easier to hold Tesla than for me to short-sell it because of the losses I will incur based on the said people I mentioned, people who hold Tesla? Can you mention them let us hear and show us their other financial investment success?

There is a proven fact, and it’s that people who ignore basic accounting principles pay dearly for it. At least those left holding the Kaya.

You say growth stock? What is Apple and Co? Last I checked Apple had a dividend yield of like 1%, with a P/E ratio of 28.

Which profit are we even talking about sef? Lol. What will the profit do for the accumulated issues in the financial statement?

Vanguard owned 4% as at last quarter, they obviously bought at a good price tho.

All these na jokes nah.
The truith is that I don't invest as a fundamentalist but I know it thru my oga Cp.I need the 10% due to my blood is very hot over money this period the marriage is below 10 yrs.

When I approached to a certain age,I will like to see my children children by investing the way you do now.

It's never easy for me when I throw up to 3-5m in a stock all for 10%.I am withstanding any loss incurred due to younger age.

If Pa Emma try what I am doing now,nah burial alert we go hear(jokes) but God forbids.

In the next 10 yrs,I go try to grow up(using real fundamentals to invest) but not now.

Technicals that yields 10% and above all the way now.
