This is what I would do: First I will meet the man in question and find out what happened. Just to fulfill all righteousness that I listened to 'his side of the story'. Then I'd tell him to publicly apologize to my wife. If he does that, I'd let the matter rest.
If he doesn't I'd inform the landlord of my intention to arrest and prosecute the man (not really seeking his permission per se, just letting him know as a matter of courtesy). While he's in police custody he'll be charged to court and after spending money and time on court appearances, he'll learn to be civilized in future.

As for the underworld solution, that will be reserved for when the system fails to handle the issue appropriately.

If your wife threw the first punch, the man should have reported to you or the relevant authorities.

That is not to say that your wife shouldn't be reprimanded later.

I am a man and my work is supposed to be protecting my woman and territory, but something happened yesterday that will test my courage.

My wife was slapped by a male neighbor, they fought badly, and she was beaten badly. because of our child oh, the man said my boy insulted him and he corrected him. the next thing my wife was hauling abuses to him and a fight broke out.


The woman did not clean up until I returned and listened patiently to all her story, although people called me and gave me same version but I listened anyways.


According to societal norms, I was supposed to go out there and beat that guy. man to man abi? But I am confused, You can't invite police into our compound unless landlord approve. I confuse.
