Don't you know that DStv represent South Africa in camouflage of xenophobia in our soil.

They are known as Telephobia, bullying and reaping us off all in the name of broadcasting premier league games.

Dstv & Gotv take our money and develop their S.Africa then tells us pay as you go is not possible...i don't blame them but blame the useless govt that cannot see potential in establishing her own communication network and cable TV decoders. I actually thought by now, Nigeria would have had it own Naijatel or whatever and Naijatv all at the lowest rate cos Nigeria is a big market but our leaders are useless infact a state in Nigeria can flow a network to generate more internal revenue for their state and employment will be generated instead of running to Abuja every month for useless allocation.

Is high time our government talk senses to our internet provider so dat dey can do something about our data plans also, considering de rate of charges whereby we cannot even use the plan made to last for a month for one week before u know it ur data finish.

Dis thing sucks

Mtn, Airtel, Glo, 9mobile are thief's, scammers, fraudsters, I would have ask EFCC to investigate dem, even de EFCC are thief's, anyway dey need to be investigated cos dis companies are criminals

I know a lot of other countries where all internet bundle are monthly subscription, den after a month dey deactivate u. With dis u can watch anything online till de last day of ur monthly sub. Ur mb is not made to be counting rather it should be unlimited plan

But here in our dear country is de other way round

Those who are in charge should come out and do something about things cos we are been use as fools in dis country

DSTV: “naira is depreciating and most of our content is paid for with dollars, so we are slightly increasing our charges”

Broke, entitled Nigerians: “DSTV are devils! Thieves! Monopolists! Kill them. Why should they be increasing price anyhow?“

Startimes: “naira is depreciating and most of our content is paid for with dollars, so we are slightly increasing our charges

Broke, entitled Nigerians: “God bless Startimes! You guys are the Best! We understand why you raised the price”

The payment should not be charged daily but per second of one's viewing duration. This is because we don't have steady power supply in this country.
Very many lazy Nigerian yoots. You took your time to read the article unlike those that just jumped in.
I thought it was per second just as we top up our airtime or pay for pre-paid PHCN power bill and not knowing it's daily, weekly, etc crap.

Lies! Lies!! Lies!!!
First of all Startimes has always proclaimed to operate pay-as-you-go bouquet but try to pay for it on any of their payment platforms INCLUDING their offices and their operatives will tell you it is impossible except you pay for the complete one month.
I am saying this because I once tried to pay for ONLY one week because of the Europa league matches and was told by a Startimes customer care operative that it was IMPOSSIBLE. I ended up subscribing for a month.

The second issue I have with Startimes is the payment for a bouquet can ONLY be made at their registered office or at the premises of their registered agents. You can not pay with your bank application!

Thirdly Startimes have subtly increased their fees like Dstv but with extremely POOR content masquraded it behind a non existent pay as you go bouquet.

And before anybody comes at me I wish to state that I subscribe to both Dstv and Startimes and I regard both platforms as cheating blood sucking platforms that do NOT provide subscribers with what they promise in any way!

Finally someone who sees through the shenanigans. Startimes think they can run BS past us, but na lie. Both companies are just bloody capitalists, only difference is that DSTV has better content.

I swear when future generations study bad leadership in the world, the faces of this current set of Nigerian leaders will be on the cover of the textbook. Useless bunch they all are.

I thought DSTV said pay-as-you-go was impossible to implement....Always thought those guys(DSTV)were thieves...

Nigeria's current backwardness with affordable, robust and globally competitive industry standard cable and data services is being sustained by greedy, corrupt elements within your government especially Ministries of Information, Science & Tech, NBC, NCC, a few NASS House Committees etc

They will keep collecting money from foreigners to ruin Nigeria's industry sectors while telling you that things that already commonplace in Ghana are impossible for you in Nigeria.

As long as there's no premier league and la liga, they are still not good enough. DSTV did increase their subscriptions and we are fighting them, only for startimes to start doing it. Rubbish.
laliga would start showing on Startimes next season, its from a reliable source while plans are made to get the rights for premier league, you can enjoy your premier league match on NTA SPORTS 24, they showed the Liverpool-burnley match yesterday..

I believe there's room for improvement tho

I wonder why we cannot have an indigenious digital TV, it feels as if we are still in the colonial era undecided

Your fellow Nigerians who are polithifcians and beneficiary of DSTV looting us will not allow an indigenous Digital TV to thrive. They will always fight it down. Ask what happened to TSTv...Our problem is with us

I wish all Nigerians cud move to startimes to spite dstv
The day startimes starts airing EPL, LA LIGA, AND UCL

No body would force Nigerians, you would just be surprised how multichoice start folding up...

But startimes are not even serious about winning the hearts of Nigerians

95 percentage of Nigerians are EPL LA Liga AND UCL football lover's, this is why even the useless gotv will even be more relevant than startimes

This is what we have been expecting from DStv for so many years.

But they would not do it, who watched startime?

We need DStv to follow suit or else we would have to dispose their decorders. We are customers and we have the right to avoid unnecessary charges.

Hanty biko speak only yourself.

Did DSTV force you to watch?

Why do you entitled folks always feel like you have the right to tell a business owner how to run their own businesses?

Nonsense. angry

Great. GoTV and DSTV should be compelled to adopt pay as you go.

Image recharging your phone with 5k and then the credit being wiped off at the end of the month because you were not able to use it. It's outright robbery.

Th same time limit should be removed from data or set to 4 months minimum for any data bundle.

Network providers and digital tv providers are stealing in broad daylight from Nigerians and the government should stop sleeping and protect it's people

They should not be compelled. if you dont like DSTv simply switch to FG owned Star Times.

let Star Times get EPL without funds from FG and see if they won't be as expensive as DSTV

They should do "Pay Per View" not only "Pay As You Go". Somebody should not pay for 200 channels when he watches only 5 out of them. With "Pay Per View", you can pay for Channel 224 only and watch SuperSports WWE Extreme Rules on July 19 without being forced to pay for over 200 channels just for one program.

I hope DSTv is also browsing Nairaland and taking adequate notes. These things are obtainable in their home nation.

I hope this is true.

Because there was no where in the write up that the Startime representative made mention of PAY AS YOU GO. It was only the guardian reporter saying he said, without quoting is word for us on pay as you go.

Edit: There pay as you go is actually a daily subscription. So if you dont watch on a particular day, you will not be charged, still better than nothing

The headline is misleading. Startimes has started pay as you go since .
