Good morning everyone.

The subject refers,
I am a Christian. However, I have been struggling with a whole lot of non Christian like habit. One of such habit is watching of pornography and masturbating. This habit has lingered for more than 10 years now.
I am an introvert probably what has made it worse and perpetual.
I don't like this act. But I usually still practice it.

I believe God loves me but he hates this act. I really don't know how to STOP IT.

Pls I need help. This has really affected my relationship with the Holy spirit, myself and other people please help.

Also I have discovered that in the past 2 years i have been so disorganized, and forgetful.

At work I have been termed a LIER. I feel really embarrassed with myself when people give me something and I forget I have been given or I don't know where exactly I kept it. Then I will be asked of the same thing I won't be able to find it. Sometimes I deny it was ever given to me because I can't remember It was ever given to me.

This has brought me a lot of struggles at work(banking) and has made me ever so frustrated with myself.

I WASN'T LIKE THIS[font=Lucida Sans Unicode][/font] before. It so unfortunate this is happening to me.

My prayer life too has gone down the drain it's zero. I attend church service Sunday however due to the current lockdown I can say I don't have any relationship with God!

Please I need help

Don't give up... everyone is struggling, even God knows that we can't keep all the commandments. You only have to be honest and sincere to yourself, if actually you are trying to quit the stuffs..keep trying, one day his grace will shock you

avoid external influences that stimulate lustful feelings

and have a long term goal of not indulging in the 2 for 7 weeks. and you will see that addiction destroyed

even in the process when you fail keep trying it till you succeed

Well, if you want to douse a fire, starve it of oxygen.

You really should have a proper understanding why you should stop these acts.

Not because God hates it.

Not because it is a sin.

Not because you will go to hell if you continue doing it.

All of the above reasons apart from the fact that they are false, won't give you the needed motivation to actually stop.

So, why should you stop, you may ask. Well, for the following reasons:

1. Your willpower is tied down and has become a slave to your body and mind. That means you are no longer in control of yourself. It's just a matter of time before you descend to an animalistic level where you either abuse a minor or rape someone or become gay.

2. Whenever you ejaculate you lose a huge amount of energy. Now, this may not look significant until you realize that the amount of energy needed to ejaculate is way way more than any energy you need to perform any other natural day to day function.

This is because, you are releasing creative energy at that moment and unfortunately, you are wasting it.

3. What's most unfortunate is that you might be wasting it, but other lower elementals, beings that exist way beyond what retinas of our eyes can perceive make use of these energies and so, they feed off from your carelessness.

In other words, they are attracted to you and they encourage you to do more and more and more because they live off your energy.

I'm sure you've noticed how difficult it is to stop masturbating.

Now what's the solution, you might ask.

1. Get rid of your porn stash. There's no masturbator that doesn't have a porn stash either on their phones or on their laptops.

2. Replace your smart phone with one that cannot browse the internet. Go for the earlier versions.

3. Install software that helps you block such sites on your laptop in case you need to access the internet.

4. Resist the urge to ogle women. Cast your eyes down whenever you pass them.

5. Realize that your religion may not help you much. Sexual urge is a natural phenomenon and so must be discharged , but appropriately.

So, praying to God to help you supress a purely natural instinct is not normal at all. In other words, your prayers won't stop you from having sexual urges, just as your prayers won't stop you from getting hungry or thirsty.

6. Be more active OUTDOORS than indoors. Develop an interest in outdoor sports like lawn tennis. Try not to be alone indoors.

7. Learn Yoga meditation. There are some forms of meditations that teach you how to TRANSMUTE your sexual energy and absorb it into your body so you can stop feeding your demons.

8. Don't give up even when you fall again and again and again. Just be determined.

Bullsheet! I know rich men and women that engage in the two acts. It only becomes an issue if it gets out of control just like almost anything in life. Control is key

You have to make a conscious decision to quit watching pornography in whatever form it is presented. The problem here is that porn is free and available everywhere, even when you aren't looking.

This extends to taking little steps every day like avoiding seemingly innocuous contents on even social media that show skimpily dressed ladies, avoid the urge to watch viral videos of people unclad. Contents like this add up to put your feeble and abused mind under sexual tension.

Also, channel your energy into new building new habits. Find a website that interests you and visit it everyday so you don't get idle on your phone. Do little exercises each day, if you can. Then lastly take it all in strides by taking little actions including setting daily reminders not to indulge (there are apps for this), setting achievable weekly and monthly targets and rewarding yourself proportionately when you meet any of these targets.

You may relapse once or twice but that's to be expected, you can rise up and take charge again. It's not about how many times you fall but how many times you get back up.

It will take Extreme grace before you over these Killers of destiny. Another sure way is by getting married, but in the absence of that, you will only be struggling in and out of them. I wish you God's grace

Stopping masturbation is a very very difficult thing cos it can be so addictive. The worse is that the western world always have a way of encouraging it, they keep saying it has some health benefits blablabla which I find to be a pure farce. Just get married and fulfil every erotic desires u could ever think of. But the question resumes again do married people masturbates?
