Good day house please can I live with a uncle for the one year accommodation in London but my school is in another city Birmingham city. That should be about one hour or 45 minutes there about. Hope it won't raise concern during the Eco interview. |

This is only really doable on paper. You’re better off looking for a school in London. Depending on where in London your uncle lives, it would take over two hours to get to Birmingham and would likely be a red flag. Another 2+ hours to get back. Also, the cost - if you plan to get on a train - no be here. Why don’t you try Westminster, Sunderland’s London campus, GCU’s London campus etc? You still have time to sort out admission as long as you’re already on your 28 day bank statement journey. R0LL0N: 2 Likes |

R0LL0N: Birmingham to london train station is easily 2 hours then not to talk of train station to your uncle house . Then daily train/bus cost unko?.... at that point, you are better off finding a cheap room share to rent in Birmingham 3 Likes |

Oloshi83:Thanks already made payment at Birmingham city university. I guess this might be a bit difficult to withdraw now. The refund might even take months. |

Ah OK. London is not feasible and would make anyone looking at the case suspect you have ulterior motives. I seriously doubt you’d get a visa based on that commute. I think the guidance is for the commute to be less than an hour. Best to hustle money for accommodation o. You would spend more than £400 a month on train fares and I am sure you can get a room in Birmingham for less than that. (This is me assuming this London to Birmingham waka is to save cash.) R0LL0N: R0LL0N: If you say you plan to stay in London when your school is in Birmingham then your visa will surely be refused. Go to spareroom,co,uk to search for accommodation. Choose low price filters. You can get a conducive house share accommodation for £300 per month with all bills included. You can even get a not so conducive accommodation for £60 per month with only wifi included. For example: £60 per month accommodation: https://www.spareroom.co.uk/flatshare/flatshare_detail.pl?flatshare_id=15306113&search_id=984049935&city_id=&flatshare_type=offered&search_results=%2Fflatshare%2Findex.cgi%3F%26search_id%3D984049935%26offset%3D20%26sort_by%3Dprice_low_to_high& £300 per month accommodation: https://www.spareroom.co.uk/flatshare/flatshare_detail.pl?flatshare_id=15312777&search_id=984049935&city_id=&flatshare_type=offered&search_results=%2Fflatshare%2F%3Foffset%3D10%26search_id%3D984049935%26sort_by%3Dage%26mode%3Dlist& Good luck. 7 Likes |

R0LL0N: Trip from London to Birmingham on a fast train is almost 90mins.if your lecture is from 9am, your daily ticket will be over £50 for return to London. 3day lecture a week cost you roughly £150. A room in Birmingham can cost you £350 and you can easily walk to your university. You still need to meet the financial /living expenses requirements 1 Like |

duchess90: Folks, please pay attention to this: https://www1.oanda.com/currency/converter/ it could cost you your application fee and the time investment. It's been on the rise since July 20th. Your focus should be on buying GBP and "Ask" section. If it's getting too close, add some thousands to top up. |

I tell you... I recently had an argument with a friend who is applying for her tier 4, she said the reference exchange rate in the UK visa office is the day of Biometric submission, i argued that it is the date of application which is stated in the form. I made references and she didn't buy it. What do you think? cerezo: |

duchess90: From my friends application in January. I noticed the exchange rate used was the date of application Also UK if they say this is what will be used then that is what they used. 2 Likes |

Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by cerezo: 9:41am On Jul 26, 2020 |
duchess90: To be quite honest, I really don't know which date they focus on. What I can tell you is that oanda also gives an overview of the last 30 days in the "Recent Trends" section. They can easily see the peak exchange rate within the period of your application and use that. So as we speak, July 25th rate has been the peak in the last 30 days and the upward trend may linger. Some more experienced folks can also share their opinions. |

Has anyone been able to book appointment? As at now, I can't even see any available dates at all. Only 4th, 5th, 6th and 11th, of August are showing "sold". Every other dates going forward is not showing anything - sold or not- biko someone help. Or am I not doing it correctly?

I said same, with lots of references, her application was in March but put on hold, she started panicking about her maintenance funds not being enough, i told her the exchange rate will be referred back to March and not July even though her statement is recent (July). She had about 3M in her account. The date of application is the one on the form right? garuskoko: |
Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by garuskoko(m): 10:06am On Jul 26, 2020 |
duchess90: Yes, the date on the application form. For her, the date to be considered is still March, but she has to make sure her bank statement has been run for 28 days and not printed more than 31 days ago. But the actual amount they want to see in her account is the amount taken from March exchange rate. |
