My Ables,
Oanda exchange rate is fast approaching 500. Please, for some of us with 28days already running with an estimated rate of 500, what do we do if paradventure the rate swings more than in days ?

It's safer to go far above exchange rate just to avoid heart attack. I used 550 so I don't get worried at all. Let's just hope it doesn't go above 500 before 28days elapse

Have you received CAS from University of Chester?

3 weeks precisely. I was worried like you when I sent my application and did not get a reply from them after 2 weeks. I sent them an email asking them for updates on my application, they actually replied me and said because they are working from home it now takes 2-3weeks. I got my offer last week Thursday. It was within the 3 weeks time frame they gave me.

You can email them if you're too worried.

I haven't applied for it yet.

Let’s learn to read do understand guys, it’s just a proposal to boost interest from international students wanting to study in the U.K.

It hasn’t been approved yet.
@ Rotimi89, I would suggest that you remove the post, to avoid confusion or people doing something else or ignoring a mandatory requirement eg English Test. You can always repost when it’s been approved.

Only a suggestion.
Thank you smiley

I agree, it can be misleading.

please I have two bachelor degrees from different universities in Nigeria. I don't know if I should just apply for postgraduate admission with only one of the bachelor degrees or will there be any added advantage in the future if i apply with two degrees?

Good day. I don't know if this question is stupid but I just received my CAS and I just so swamped at what to do.

Should I get the TB test first before I apply for a visa or should I just apply directly for a visa.

I'll really appreciate any help I can get with the breakdown on applying for a visa.

In the proposal, there is still room for schools to test English proficiency of students outside the Secured English Language Test (IELT) on the condition the process of such assessment is stated in CAS.

The fact that our bachelor degree courses in Nigeria are taught in English Language is enough to satisfy the requirement. All that schools need to do is state it in the CAS. I don't think IELTs is mandatory in the proposal. What is mandatory is that they state the manner they assess English language proficiency of students.

If taking IELTs or other official English test exam is mandatory, then the requirement that schools explain in CAS how they assess English proficiency other than using SELT won't be stated

It is still a proposal sha

Book your appointment first, and sort the TB test out before your appointment date.

I will advice you to book your TB screening first . The date of your TB screening will determine the date you will choose for your visa appointment.

Yes usually, but can still take a day or two.
Mine is a week plus now. It depends on how efficient the management work. You can try sending them an email with your swift message if you paid directly into the school's account.

This booking thing is actually confusing I thought it was after your 28 days you can book.

Now Its your TB screening will determine the date you choose.

Gets confusing each day.

TB has always come first only because you need it for your visa submission and appointment.... so best to get that out of the way .

If you want to submit and book your Visa appointment when you don't have your TB then its pointless since its mandatory . Also you cannot predict what appointment date you get for TB
Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by iamlinton: 3:48pm On Jul 29, 2020
The Tb screening certificate is one of the documents you need to submit for your visa application. If you already have your 28days bank statement, book your TB screening appointment at IOM ,you will be assigned a date to come for your TB screening. Then you can apply for your visa online . The date you will choose for the visa appointment in order for you to submit your documents will be determined by the date you will get your TB screening certificate because you need the Tb screening certificate as one of the documents to submit at the embassy. Understood?

Clear.. But if the last week of your 30 days is next week for bank statement and your TB test day is that next week, though no CAS yet till after printing of bank statement that same next week, do you start booking for Visa appointment since all of these will likely be ready next week?
Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by iamlinton: 4:05pm On Jul 29, 2020
In your case ,you need to do the Tb screening first .You cannot book for visa till you get your CAS . Since your bank statement is not yet mature, you can go ahead for your TB screening, print out your bank statement when mature ,send it to your school and get your CAS after which you can apply for your visa .Cheers
