Hi everyone.

I and my girlfriend are planning to get married in a few weeks. I am hoping to bring her over to the UK on a Tier 2 Dependant Visa. I understand there are requirements to show proof of a genuine relationship. However, we have been dating long distance and I have not been able to see her for a year now.

These are the proposed documents I am providing to prove the relationship is genuine:
1. WhatsApp Chat script from January - September 2019
2. WhatsApp Screenshots, especially on special occasions
3. WhatsApp call logs, showing duration (very long calls)
4. Video call screenshots spanning February to September 2019
5. Transferwise statements showing money transferred to her over 9 months
6. Pictures on my next trip to Nigeria with both of us and with family
7. Support letter from my pastor and her friend
8. Photos of the birthdays surprise I planned for her, plus screengrabs of the planning of the surprise with her friends
9. Wedding invite, wedding photos, receipts for wedding supplies, cake, hall payment, e.t.c
10. Letter to the rental agency to add her to our agreement once she arrives
11. Flight ticket to attend the wedding
12. Flight ticket to visit her in December (I fell ill and missed the flight)
13. Marriage certificate (from magistrate court)
14. Cover letter

I am adding all this documentation because we do not have pictures of ourselves together (long story). It has been a long distance relationship from the start, but we have kept in constant communication.

Do I have everything I need?

cc: justwise Lexusgs430

I think pictures together, forms a vital part of this application..........

Can I take pictures when I arrive in Nigeria? I will be spending quite a while there before I return. Will those be alright?

[quote author=mimilyrics post=92242742]When you say mature, do you mean your 28-day count? Or do you mean that's when your statement will be ready for the 28-day count? Do you have your CAS already or will you just be getting it in Sept? A bit more details will make it easier to give you the appropriate answer.
You can post subsequent questions in the student visa thread below;

https://www.nairaland.com/5816163/uk-student-visa-tier-4/17

Yea, when I say mature, my bank statement will be 28days during the first week of September. Middlesex University said they will issue CAS by the end of July, still yet to receive it. I have already done my TB test. My question is can I still make it to the UK before 20th Oct?

Thanks @gisele237, I really appreciate, you once stated that been a graduate is not enough reason to convince issuing of visa
Pls I decide to put in my marriage ceremony which is still next year January. But I don't know how to go about it
Will I need to present our registered date?
Will their be need for any documents pls, because we are yet to do it
Having a fiancee is a strong tie back home. In your cover letter talk about your fiancee and how long you have been together. Show a throw back picture of two of you together like some years back and a current picture together. Talk about your plan of getting married by January. A supportive letter from her is ok.

Hello

Must TB certificate still be valid by the time one enters UK if it is still valid by the time visa is issued? In order words, can an expired TB certificate be used to enter the UK if one has a valid tier 2 visa?

All the documents you want the visa officer to see, has to be ELECTRONICALLY uploaded to your application.
After you have filled your form and paid, you will have access to book an appointment to submit biometrics.
After selecting day for biometrics, the documents should then be uploaded to your profile that will at a later date be transferred to the visa officer
There are two options for this upload
Either you do the upload yourself of your documents OR you take your documents to the VAC for them to help you at a cost to upload your documents.

Either of the options is fine, the choice is yours.

If u choose to upload the documents yourself, then follow the steps in the attached screenshot
Thanks for this

U don’t need ielts exam for visit visa.
U said u just graduated.
I am hoping u have a job, education, business or husband/wife or children or assets or property or investments to prove as ties for you to Nigeria so that u can be issued a visa. They want to be convinced beyond reasonable doubt tht you hve something that ties you to Nigeria.
If no ties, pls dnt waste ur visa fee.
U will also submit ur own documents to establish ur grounds for wanting a visit visa, bank statements, employment letter, introduction letter, house documents, if u are married, marriage certificate, pictures and so on as applicable to your case

Tell her to also upload all documents that is yours and hers to your application online after you have booked biometrics appointment
Thanks so much
Pls concerning the last paragraph, my sponsor said she email all the invites documents to British council Abuja, not Lagos pls can you help me with link of where she ought to sent it to.

Usually there's no need to resend/ re-upload documents that have been successfully received except they are requested for again.

You being able to meet up will be dependent on how fast the application is processed seeing as priority and super priority has been suspended till further notice.

Student visa?

Yes, Student tier 4 visa, with dependants. Do I need to fill an accommodation, as I do not want to book or pay for one until I get the visa confirmation
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by mimilyrics: 5:57pm On Jul 30, 2020
I learnt that you'd need to provide an address now for isolation reasons so maybe an AirBnB accommodation will suffice or if you have someone you can stay with, it might help.
You can check the student thread in the link below for info on it:

What if you were asked to show your TB test certficate at the POE?
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by Flexvilla: 7:45am On Jul 31, 2020
I researched yesterday online about it and found out that the TB test should only be valid at the time of application. You can travel with the expired test result and if they need a new one, there are X-ray machines at the airport where it will be done free of charge. Someone in the UK also verbally confirmed this to me last night too so no qualms.

Travel with confidence.

U can sum up total amount for the year and then divide by twelve to get an average for a month so u can fill up in your financial section of the form.
Explain also in the additional information and have the HR also highlight this in your letter. This would serve as a further confirmation as to the information you would provide
Great !! Thanks

Please has anyone who had their appointment cancelled before the lockdown gone for submission now? Am asking because when I booked my appointment in February to submit my application on March 30 I paid N11,700 for assisted service. But when I rebooked my appointment last week to submit now on August 18 I was asked to pay another N11,700 for assisted service. So I want to know if they refund those that submitted this week. Thanks

[quote author=mimilyrics Goodmorning NairaLanders! I did my biometrics on the 19th of March before the lockdown. Tracked my application on the 30th of July and saw this! no email notification till date. Does it mean that visa was granted ? Just curious, I was told by a friend that also submitted before the lockdown that he got refusal via email. Is that the new norm to send refusal via email ? Has anyone experienced this before ? Hopefully I will get an email notification for pickup by next week.
