Good day Guru's in the house,
I graduated from OAU, Civil Engineering department, 2014 set with 2'2, i'm Coren registered with 6yrs working experience.

Am in process of applying to one of the colleges in Canada for Project Management Program, but the agent keep telling me my age is on the high side (34yrs) that it may affect my Visa approval. Can dis be true?

Also, I will appreciate any suggestions of schools with low tuition that offers PMP

Please kindly advise me on how I can go about it.

Once you can account for your study gaps until this present stage in your career with cogent explanation and back up evidence, Age will not count as a negative factor in analysing your admissibilty criteria to pursue an advanced education in Canada. As a matter of fact, there are numerous applicants I know that have secured their visas at the age of 42 and above. So kindly disregard what your agent has told you and begin your application for an admission into a DLI in Canada. As for schools with lower tuition for PGD/C programs, you can explore the New Brunswick Community College (NBCC) and Selkirk College at BC

I hope this information helps.

For those facing this issue, I think you may be able to bypass your agent to know your application status. I have seen people open a new account and link previous application. To do this, you will need UCI and or application number. So, if your agent gave you this, maybe for medical request or biometric invite, try and see if you can link it to a new GCKey.

All the best.

I think this strategy is only achievable for paper route applicants. I don't think its feasible for an applicant who submitted their application via the online route. Nonetheless, I am happy to welcome you back on this thread again, it's really been a while for over 3 years now. I really applaud your kind gesture for coming back here to assist others in achieving their Canadian dreams.

Keep the good work up and doing Boss!

Thanks for your Swift response and encouragement. God bless you.

Have checked the two schools recommended but non of it offers Project Management or related course.

I will appreciate if anyone can as well recommend another schools with low tuition fee.

Hello Chief,
U seem a bit confused about this IELTS of a thing, cos u have asked this question about IELTS more than twice

Note this:
If u av done IELTS before and u av the required score (bands) the school require it, u can use it to apply for admission.

And IELTS result is only valid for 2-years.

But if admission is the reason u want to do it, don't bother urself,
U don't need IELTS for admission purpose cos u come from an English Speaking Country (Nigeria),
so even if you see it in an admission requirement of a sch. or program, u are EXEMPTED
.

IELTS requirement for admission purpose are meant for countries whose official language is not English
E.g India, China, Philippines. Vietnam etc
.

Its only if u are interested in applying for Permanent Residency (PR) after ur studies that it's highly required of u to do IELTS

Hi, my eye caught this. I'm about trying to do duolingo test to get an admission. Are you saying we need none of that or ielts?

I don't think you can see any cheaper school that offer project management. You can check Conestoga College, I'm sure they do. Alternatively, a simple search on google can help you find one.

For admission purpose,
U don't need IELTS ..

But as regards the Duolingo , its a new English Test Program, so u will need to enquire from the skool if u need to do it or not.(But I doubt if u gonna need it)

So a way U can verify is to:
mail the international department of ur skool, and enquire from them that u intend to apply for so so course in their skool, that do u need to do Duolingo Test,
cos u came from an English Speaking country (Nigeria) the medium of instruction of ur 4-5 years in ur fmr. degree and ur High school days is English, and your Transcript is all written in English Language

Thanks. Do I need to attach the form?

Taiwolus:

Sure you could raise a webform. It'd only be funny when you raise a webform that you'd be starting this Fall, and then another webform (in 4 weeks) that you'd be starting next winter.

The present Study Visa processing time is scary enough to make anyone defer admission. My honest N2K.

I mistakenly inputed winter start date on the imm1294e form instead of the fall session. Can I create a webform for this?

What do you think I could do, please?

U might likely not see a low tuition fee school like that for PGD or PGC in Project Management

Visit the link below & explore the schools offering PGC/PGD in Project Management, visit their websites ,check for their tuition fees for international student so as to make a comparison and u might be lucky to get one or two schools available for ur proposed budget

Alternatively, your friend in Canada can request a GCMS note for you. It shows progress on your application even when they have not been updated online. It normal would take a month but the recently i hear people get it in only 15 days.

Please how do I contact Nairobi Kenya visa office as I submitted my reapplication online March 24 and till date yet to receive an update, although I contacted them sometime ago and got the generic response. moreso my friend in Canada raised a webform or IRCC website and I got a mail from them July 23 saying:
" We are working on processing applications as quickly as possible; however, processing times are affected and any disruption caused by COVID-19 is not reflected accurately on our website. We will make all the necessary efforts to finalize your application as soon as possible."

Please, a quick one...do I need to upload the updated imm form via the webform? Or I could just explain the situation in the enquiry section and submit?

Hello Justexcellent,

It takes nothing to fill a new IMM 1294e form and support with a very succint LOE. The body message via CSE should also be brief and contains your personal and application details, at least the most sensitives.

Someone should help me. I have been a guest user of this thread and did my medicals today at IOM.

The nurse and doctor said my BP was very high. Although I didn't see the figure but they were visibly concerned. The doctor asked and I told her that my father is managing BP too. She said it may be a family thing. I wasn't referred to a cardiologist or asked to do any further test. I completed the medical exam. The doctor only told me to go to any hospital later on so that I can get the BP checked and managed.

My question now is: will this high BP affect the study permit approval? (The medical was requested, not upfront). Has anyone experienced something like this before?

Hello Trvassurance,

I don't know if it has happened before now but it is very rare for an application to be refused because the applicant have HBP. The most occurrence is for the VO to request for the applicant to undergo a further test in order for the application to be approved.

Google and read about Medical inadmissibility. It is about how much your health/treatment will cost the government and the maximum allowed. Your doctor will likely mention your high BP as required. However, I don’t think BP will be an expensive issue to manage that can make you inadmissible.

Thanks! I have a friend who lost her account password. She opened another one and linked her previous application using her UCI or application number. This experience made me suggest that anyone without access to their application can open another account and link it.

It been a while. How have you been? He never reach three years though. I hope you’re good.

Last week, I posted that my friend recieved an email from DoNotReply-NePasRepondre@cic.gc.ca that a decision has been made on the application and should log into the portal for verification. Till now, nothing has changed. Just wondering whether anyone has had this kind of experinece before or someone can provide an insight to what is wrong. Web form has heen filled, email has been sent; till now no response whatsoever!

Is this how to request for help?

First take your time to read the pages or better still kindly ask anyone to link you to specific pages with list of schools and documents as well as step by step process then you read up and act on it.
I believe the essence of NL is to DIY.
Lastly, everyone is a volunteer here so you kindly request, and not Order.

Thanks and welcome to NL wink

Initially I wanted to go for masters but lack of POF

For POF is achievable

Hello Folhu57,

The means in which the VO may anchor the required discretion is quite complex and yet be simplied logically. Based on my own opinion, it may not have a plod on your application. There have been few applicants that looked both ways and came successful. You should satisfy the VO based on each route requirements and pay close attention to home ties.

Don't be fussed that you may jeopardize your honesty when trying to convince the VO about your home ties. The explanation and evidence on the ties for the study route should still be the usual custom and given as if the existence a dual intent doesn't exist. This way, proper demonstration can be given without panic.

I asked this question when i began my own process but in the end, i applied myself, i read through the thread, i searched for information i wanted using key words and i am glad i did not use any agent. i would suggest you take your time and read through especially the last 5 pages here as it has links to all the steps and process you need to complete your application.

besides if you still choose to use an agent, they will still ask ask for same documents you will need to provide. sotake your time and go through the thread you will find answers to what you are looking for.
