Who are they trying to deceive? The last election has given the North so much confidence that they'll win any election held in Nigeria. Why don't dey talk of competence in civil service/force recruitments, unity school admissions etc. This is the first time they talk of "competence" but I know they don't mean same competence we all know. There'll be a great change some day. |

Reading comments above, it's clear you guys still don't understand that the system is set up in such a way that no matter who comes tomorrow, no matter his age or experience, the system will ensure he never succeeds. Even if Obama or Putin are invited to become president and Vice, they would never make any meaningful impact due to the system set up. Buhari thought not owning posh properties all over even after been petroleum minister in the 70s was enough to make him a saint but see the level of corruption swimming around him, while he just mopes at the ceiling. Only Regionalism or outright division can solve the problems of under development of Nigeria. Anything short of that is B.S. 1 Like |

Arewa Youth leader, the skewed political structure of Nigeria created by northern military dictators to favor the northern region necessitated rotation of the office of the presidency between north and south of Nigeria. That’s why in 1999, we fielded two SW presidential candidates each for the presidential ticket of the two largest political parties. If the best candidate below 70 years of age is now our decision, the SE zone has too many qualified and best presidential candidates to succeed President Buhari. We cannot shift the goal post in the middle of a football game.

BlackfireX: My bros/sis, the two tribes - Igbo and Yoruba - are really crazy on not forgetting their differences and use their ABUNDANT human and natural resources to take control of Nigeria to a better destination. When ObJ wanted a Third term as president, he assembled southern politicians in Enugu with a communique that read: [Nigeria remains underdeveloped because it has been ruled by people who came from regions far away from where Nigeria’s natural resources are found]. |

Shettima, is making point in some areas whereas in other areas he has already groove. The 6 geopolitical zones that housed more than 200 ethnicity that makes up Nigeria can boost of many educated, vibrant, resourceful, well exposed people that can Mann the affairs of this great nation and within 6 months we shall get directions. There are many young people outside there that is not fit to be employed as a sectional heads in a company of not up to 20. In this very government, we do have young guys as a Governors, Ministers, head of parastatas, agencies and MDAs but they have messed there respective positions up. I am also a young man in my early fifties but I can see it clearly that there are many young people outside there that is not even fit to appointed as ordinary ward chairman. Going to school is one thing, it is another different thing to let school pass through you. Hence age should never be a yasticks to used a measurement for Presidential candidate. I wondered how do you expect someone that forged Certificates or drop out to perform very well in whatever position he might be. Late Cheif Obafemi Awolowo was not a President of Nigeria but for the fact that is well educated, resourceful, exposed, vibrant he was able to manage little resources at his disposal to developed southwest. It is only what he did that Yoruba can boost of till today, the present people that claimd they wanted to be like Awolowo was just making mouth without nothing to offer Yorubas. We are all in this country when Late President Umar Musa Yar'Adua was in power, he is doing is work without any fair or favour for any God father. We all know all what this man did within is short period in power. That was the first time a university graduates was Nigeria President and his deputy. They takes this country to the next level. It shows in their thinking, behaviour, characters, management, administration. Age should not be limited because what you cannot do or achieve at 25 years of age simply because you refused to acquire more education, you refused to upgrade yourself and others you can't offers it even when you are 70 years of age. In fairness, Nigerians make a great mistake in voting out former President Goodluck Johnathan in 2015 because about 85% of Nigerians was not orientated or better informed about the great errors that was about to be committed then. Even in 2019, Nigerians was not awared about mistakes did earlier they voted again PMB. Yes PMB has an integrity but what about his competencies ?. It is only competencies with integrity can only brings good governance to the people. PMB is a retired general and some groups of people would be taken a whole Nigeria into ransom or a terrorism would be taken over certain areas of a country where we have a retired general as a President. I am stands to be corrected here and it is very regrettably that Nigerians voted an incompetent Person against a young, well educated, resourceful, vibrant personnel. But what did we gained from this Government since 2015 ?. It is absolutely nothing. PMB just wanted to comes to power without proper, adequate and comprehensive preparations for the exalted number one jobs in the land. Personally, If I was PMB, I would not bothered to recontest in 2019 having rules for 4 years a tenure, I will go back to Daura. Having known my age, capacity, ability and level of my competencies but what happened ?. PMB coming back to power again in 2019 is just exposing himself in terms of competences to Nigerian and the world globally. We need to remember that one can only gives what we have. 1 Like |

Bagehot: I don't know where you're going with it. You can't compare those you mentioned with our politicians. For example Buhari did nothing between 1983 (after he was toppled) and 1999. Bernie Sanders maybe 78yrs but he's fitter and more energetic than baba-go-slow Buhari. |

To northerners politics is a goldmine, oil block , pats more than oil and gas job. Na why Dey wan die there To the likes of buhari it’s power and enriching family members. Buhari was already stinking rich but hiding money under junior proxy . All the money stole from ptdf is worse than nddc. Them use that money buy houses uae |

PapaBaby: You just expressed my point pretty well; instead of focusing on their age, focus instead on what they can deliver. We make a lot of noise about young leaders, but amongst the few we have had in Nigeria, which of them hasn't failed us? |
