I av been doing this for over a decade bro.

U don't know what u are talking about.

In 2030 when machines would take over, programmers would still be needed to program the machine and I repeat , it will never be pure water.

Like I said, separate website and script writers from programmers.

why c#
Because it was the first a book I bought advised me to learn then I one day asked myself "how are compilers made?" went beating around the bush with a little theory I could not even understand, wrote a little rubbish with C#, but the problem was that I wanted to learn graphics programming and C# was slow and not good enough for that so I had to learn C++ the dreaded ugly language, then I heard of a language faster and "harder" (a lie obviously) and I came to know C and love it.

This is getting boring, honestly many people are now programmers or have some relevant IT skills and very soon this skill will be like pure water . angry grin grin.

Much like how MS WORD , MS Excel were all hot cake between 2000-2009.
Although not anymore now it's become a redundant skill to have

Application is the key? How many people can create a project? You will be better accepted as a professional when others have a general knowledge lest you are on your own

grin cheesy cheesy. I think there is a thread on front page where one guy was lamenting how he was unable to make money despite all the IT skills he has all cos of lack of clients.

Only on NL alone I know the number of persons I see on a daily basis that can create website from scratch .

Truth is give this thing 10years from now sef it'll become redundant . They are tonnes of materials online for anyone to learn.
There are areas in programming where people haven't touched much yet, in fact that section is for the computer scientists. But honestly there are too many so called programmers on NL I can imagine how many there will be in Nigeria, and they are all foolishly aiming for the same field, that's why I laugh at those who force themselves to learn programming, very soon give it time it will fade away and the fields that would be open would be so hard that non radicals would step aside.

Javascript and Python

Javascript is the only programming language that gives python a run for it's money.. Most programmers don't see javascript as a very good language but why I find javascript so impressive is cos it is the language of web browsers so demand for it will remain high for the foreseeable future!

[s]The disadvantage is it can only be used in Web development

C++ but is being a long time, it is very easy to say I have learned this and that, but it is another thing to create something out of it and solve a problem in the world. We need to step up our game in Africa and build something for ourselves.
I was surprised when I heard some government in Africa hire foreign based computer scientist and engineers to improve on quality delivery on services and secure their data base management systems while we got our programmers and the rest. Too bad.

Is it adviceable to start Python without any knowledge of JavaScript?

you don't need any language before you jump into python.

knowledge of Python makes every other language you might want to learn easier with a little tweak in their syntax.

It depends on your career path.

Python has an easy syntax.

But with JavaScript, you'll be able to create a simple project that you can add to your portfolio in a shorter time than python.

Also, If you won't be interacting with the web or web browsers, then you can safely avoid JavaScript for now.

But if you will be working with the web, then you need JavaScript.

Python on the other hand is the fastest growing programming language in the world....It is very flexible .The only disadvantage I see in Python is you can't use it for front-end web development or front-end app development..

have you heard of Django and flask library in python?
does front and back end for web development
