I knew someone was going to ask. Well, it was during my service year one fellow corper sent someone to the market and asked him to help get fish and specifically said it must be scubia ó.

When that one came back he brought out the and lo and behold it was our world renowned Titus fish . I challenged him it is called Titus but he said it is scubia ó.

Since that time I randomly call Titus scubia anytime I remeber my guy Oscar

Scumbia( scombridae) are classes of fish in which that fish( the real name is mackerel not Titus fish)belong to.
When u look at the carton, it's written mackerel not Titus.
It's Nigerians that termed it Titus.
Market women are right this time around. I was corrected by one before I looked it up.

Personally I call any fish that belong to the sardine family Titus fish( maybe because of the can sardine called titus)

Scumbia (forget the fact that it isn't correct is like saying akwùkwò nrì). Once you say vegetable, fluted pumpkin, ùzìza, green, bitter leave, water leave etc are among the different sub families.
