My family house is old and always affected by floods. Anytime rain falls, the whole house is flooded. Though floods usually disturb that area. I'm majorly concern about my parents who are getting old putting their legs and sleeping on top of the flood anytime it rains heavily. Because of the flood, I developed asthma while growing up and still battling with it.

Initially, I have an intention of doing some rehabilitation of the old house by removing the roof and filling it above the flood level so that in case the flood comes it will stay outside and won't be able to enter the house (worse case scenario). But my mom discouraged me telling me that it's better to rebuild a new house because the foundation of the old house is already weak.

But I'm very confused because I doubt if my budget can build me a new 3 bedroom flat in front of the old house.

Please kindly advise me. Thanks in anticipation

It depends on the area and state. If its Lagos, nah cos building materials are very expensive here. If its a place like Ibadan or other States, it might.

Don't be discourage bro ,just ride on and God will help you out.

It can finish the house. Just make sure you do your bill of quantities well. Blocks can be made on site. Plus you have to use long span zinc roofing sheets, no fancy aluminum. Watch the costs, pay for labour direct, negotiate for the whole job instead of daily. That way they will be in a hurry to finish as opposed to daily pay where they will drag the job. You can be done with as little as 1.3 million. I know. We just built in the village.

Building the structure to lintel level alone with consume the 2 million....... Then u begin to take about roofing, knocking, wiring and electrical, plumbing and piping, plastering, ceiling, windows and doors, buglary and iron bars/ protectors, tiling and flooring, sand filling, painting, furnishing...... Etc... May God have mercy on you.

My advice is hustle for extra 8 million and add it the 2 million......... Bros you need roughly 10 million to complete that work

Right now am cut up with a mess already .
Some days ago I bought tiles for the tiling of our new house but all the tiles guys that checked and did estimate on the tiling didn't tell me that we will have to do German floor first before the tilling .
I don't even know how to tell my brother that and we have assumed that they will resume work tomorrow now this one just came up . The funny part is I don't feel comfortable telling lies, I don't know how where to start with because he asked him severally if there will be any time I will be needing and i said no

It wasn't standard. Rooms are smaller, saved a lot of space. Total blocks in a course/coach...is 89 in the foundation.

I can tell you with 2 million e go hard coz it's not just to put block together ,look at the other aspect like the finishing,the final thing of house alone can cost you like a million naira,roofing alone is also expensive,let's say between 500k,and mind you omo-onilé go collect like 100k alone.leave fence and tiles that money no go reach at all.

Roofing alone is close to 1milla. Nah, it will not.

a 3 bedroom bungalow.Am currently building such in my hometown and am also the one supervising the project personally.even with 300 blocks I never see foundation sef.the blocks still dey hide inside ground.
