Yeah! But the issue is who appoints or dissolve a trustee in a church?
it seems u don't understand what the law is all about....the appointment or dissolution occurs when churches break existing laws especially financial misappropriation, inheritance of the organisation by pastor's kids or family members and pastors being the sole owner of church funds etc

Are you sure that churches pay taxes in America and Europe?
You should double check your assertion.
Meanwhile in Germany, the government deducts church taxes from the salary of those who are registered as Christians, to remit to their congregations.

Rejecting the new law in the media won't have any effect. The new CAMA is now a law that must be complied with by all afeected parties. If CAN feels that the law violates the fundamental and constitutional right of its members, they should go ahead and challenge the legality of the law in a court of competent jurisdiction. Anything other than that is just empty noise.
You are just another fool on this forum!! Did you see where the law states it's provisions is not subject to litigation in any court??

The Christians there don't know what they stand for that's why. By the way, they didn't get there for spiritual matters and all the more reason the government should never meddle in or have any say whatsoever on Church matters! They don't have it takes to have a say!

CAMA is good thing to reduce corruption in many NGO including churches and professional associations. There is no need to protest. CAN should go to court. I can bet it, CAN would loose. Muslims are not protesting.
Next thing government should do is to stop sponsoring people to mecca and Jerusalem as well as stopping building religious centres in public institutions. Religion should be private affair.

The Catholic and Anglican Church are properly controlled from beginning, on single billionaire come from those churches that challenge govt decision and policies rudely.

You will remember that Pastor Oyedepo was in church the first week when govt advised that because if covid 19 religious activities should be suspended. He did that because he knew he can't be arrested and because of his billions, while his Catholic priests compile.

Also when Benson idahosa died, his wife took over church of God Mission while there are Senior pastors who would have taken over.

There are more billionaire pastors in Nigeria because they use church offering to enrich their self at the detriment of their members.

It is a good thing for a group of people to be controlled.

Where it's written BIBLE that govt should control the CHURCH ?

Is this nation control by the Bible, is Bible the law book of the Nation? what did the bible says about the govt of the land?

CAN should have fought this before it became a law. they were three hearing, public hearing of the bill before it was passed into law.
The best thing CAN can do now is to take it in a legal way by going to Court. It is already a Law.

Sometimes ago a bill similar to this was passed that G.O of each churches must appoint a new Leader that is not a relation of the G.O of the church, when they are over 70years old. Pst Adeboye obeyed and followed the law then before it was scrapped. Do you know that is was a Christian that presented the bill then?

I am just thinking aloud. Is this new law not affecting Muslims too?

Why is MURIC not protesting? What if this law was introduced during Jonathan regime? How will MURIC react if Jonathan signed a law that gave government the authority to remove the Imams of any mosque?

Would CAN oppose this law if it was enacted during Jonathan's regime?

The fact is that religious inclinations has blocked the rational thinking of most Nigerians.

My honest take is that people should have the freedom to practice their religious beliefs without discrimination or government interference.

If you are a Muslim or Christian, do you call those who practice traditional religion derogatory names like pagans and idol worshippers?

Religion is really the "weed"" of the people!
This is same law practice in both US, UK and others.
All this religious personality has branches in those places and they abide by those laws.
Bishop Oyedepo was invited to the UK to explain why he fleeced the country of taxes that due from tithes and offering collected in there branch over there.
Why and what makes them think they do not deserve the same treatment in there home country.
They all feed fat on tithes and offerings, publishing and other trading and underground business's they engage in and expect they will not be taxed?
What money you make in any regulated setting is subject to the authority of the place, or else you relocate, it is allowed.
The Bible say submission to those in Authority is mandatory they are God's representatives on earth.
That law was made in nineteen ninety nine and was amended during Johnathan era and now again.
There was public hearing where were they?
They could have gone there and make inputs.
Some of the members are Christians wath role do they play in drafting the law?

Please, Christian should hold their peace. The fight is not of Man but of God. Nothing of such can be found in the Bible. God is the head of the church and only him has the power to rule.

Don't be surprised, if all those who make the law, those who signed it; begins to die mysteriosly.

They have an agenda, and all driven towards islamation.

They sign the law during covid time. When they knew churches are not gathering, to pray in order to scatter their evil plans.

We know govt isnt God, are Pastors God?

You have pastors who have abandoned the pulpit and are chasing election news in a rush to be the first with prophesy. Pastors are now predicting who will win what state, who will die when, what calamity is about to happen. Is this truly good for society?

It's not about the pastors but the church. The church is the body of Christ and not about any man. Hence, no government can rubbish the body of Christ. Most importantly, Nigeria is the heartbeat of God so evil can't prevail. CAMA is evil against the church and the clause that's conflicting with the church's operation should be removed. It's like another man coming to run your family where you are the head. How would you feel?

On the issue of prophesy, there's nothing wrong about it. Prophesy by design is meant to be a warning so we can adjust our actions and avert it. It's shouldn't be about prophesying sweet things except when totally necessary. If a man of God prophesies about an impending calamity and then we adjust our actions to avert it, isn't that a good thing?

I understand that there are bad eggs in Christianity, just as it is in every other religion, but it's God's to weed His church and not any man to try to take advantage of that to destroy it. This is what it is. If you know anyone that is part of the CAMA plan against the church, tell them to walk away. This is a fight against God and no man can stand Him.
