Episode 25 - My babe.

Baby- Joeboy

Ose woke up and for the first time, the bustling and honking of cars on the roads outside his Agindigbin apartment didn't irritate him. He didn't wake up cursing his realtor for tricking him to pay for three years in advance.

He rolled out of bed to go and meet the woman he loved. Rosanna had told him she loved him. She told him that he was not just a friend to her and that there was a possibility of a future for them.

And that excited him more than anything. He knocked on her door.

"Come in." Her raspy voice answered.

He smiled and sauntered in. He met her sitting on the bed, facing a wall.

"Good morning." He chippered and she shushed him.

"Keep it down." She groaned. "I'm still waiting for the Advils to kick in."

He smirked and sat beside her. They sat silent for a few minutes and Ose wondered what was going on in her mind.

"About last night-" He started unable to keep the silence anymore.

She brought her finger to his lips to silence him.

"I don't want to talk about it. Let's just go with the flow." She said, smiling.

What did that mean?

She smiled and kissed his cheek. She stood and pulled him up.

"We still have flour, right?" She asked and he nodded.

"I'll make pancakes then."

She led him out of the room, still dressing in her black, sequined, mini dress.

Going with the flow? Did that mean they were a couple already?

******
Rosanna jumped as hands wrapped themselves around her waist. She giggled as she heard Ose's voice thank her for dinner.

"You're welcome." She said, with her hands still rubbing the grime away from the dishes.

For the past one week, Ose had been extra expressive of his emotions around her and always seeking an excuse to touch her.

Hugging her, brushing his arms against hers, holding her hands, kissing her cheek. At first, she'd thought it weird but she shrugged it off. And then, he was always so happy. If she didn't know better, she'd think he was in love with her.

Maybe it was the upcoming book launch. And she'd made it to the dedication page. He claimed she was his muse. But there was nothing inspirational about her.

She was just a heartbroken filly.

"What time is the book launch tomorrow?" She asked as he pulled away.

"Three. Are you sure you don't want me to pick you up?" He asked and crossed his arms across his chest as he leaned against the wooden counter.

She shook her head.

"I'll have to come back home to change. I'll just meet you there." She said and drained the sink.

She stacked the washed dishes back in the sink for rinsing. She turned and met Ose staring at her.

"What?!" She cried laughing.

"You're the most beautiful thing I've ever seen." He said with his voice deep.

She burst into laughter and said, "Save the corny lines for your next romance scene."

He frowned and said, "What if I come up with a unique line?"

"Then you can try it on me then."

"Challenge accepted."

******
Rosanna smoothed out her lapis coloured cullotes as she climbed out of the Uber she took to the event center. She hoped she was dressed okay. She'd sold most of designer wears along with all her jewellery to raise funds for the half a million dollars fee the illegal transplant hospital asked for.

She brought her hand to the cylindrical, gold pendant sitting on her sternum. Dare had given her the necklace and it was the only piece of authentic jewellery she owned. The rest were just costume jewellery she'd bought whenever something in Aboki Yusuf's showcase caught her fancy and she could afford to splurge on it.

Anyway, this was just a book launch. Not a movie premiere.

She strode into the building and met usherettes, one of whom led her to the hall where the book launch was being hosted. Stand banners and tripod posters with the cover of Ose's new book, Cozenage, adorned the front of the hall.

A doorman with matching black and red outfit as the usherettes pulled open the glass door and she smiled her thanks.

She walked in and took in the medium sized hall. Gold draperies ran the sides of the hall with black and red balloon decorations dotted the hall. The room was decorated with accents of gold, black and red, the predominant colours on Ose's book cover.

She walked to the nearest vacant cocktail table. She set down her black clutch and looked around for Ose. She caught a few people she worked with FDL publishing. She sighed as she remembered her father. She hoped she wouldn't run into him. She could just imagine his smug look once he found out she wasn't married.

She reached up to touch the pendant again. She missed him.

She bit her lip to berate herself. She was here to celebrate with Ose and not mourn her dead fiancé. She continued her search for Ose and found him at the end of the hall signing books.

She smiled. She was proud of him.

"What's a lovely girl like you doing here alone?" A baritone voice asked from her side and she turned to face the man.

She smiled and said, "I'm with the author."

The man dropped his wine glass and stretched out his hand.

"Desmond Okoye, I write for Litertain Magazine." He said.

She studied his ringed hand with a Free Mason signet ring on his index finger.

"Free Mason?" She asked.

He smirked in surprise. "Just a fan of National Treasure."

She grinned and said with an accent, "Dr. Abigail Chase. Nice to meet you treasure hunter."

"Will you hand me the Declaration of Independence after you tell me your real name?" He said.

She giggled and shook his hand, "Rosanna Amaechi. And no, I won't."

"Don't you want to see the Ortendorf Cipher?" He asked and let her hand go.

She giggled again and said with the accent, "I have seen the Declaration of Independence and there is no treasure map on the back of the Declaration of Independence."

"It's invisible." The man quoted back and she laughed again.

"So what do you do when you're not quoting National Treasure?" Desmond asked, smiling.

"I edit the fashion section of Today's Woman magazine." She said and stopped a passing waiter and took a glass of wine.

"Wow!" Desmond cried in astonishment. "Well, I'm not really surprised. You look stunning."

"Stunning's stretching it." Her white, sleeveless, v-necked blouse, tucked into lapis coloured cullotes, paired with matching blue strappy, heeled sandals wasn't exactly stunning.

"Beauty's in the eye of the beholder and to me, you're the most beautiful woman in the room." Desmond said.

"Are you always this flirtatious?"

"Depends. Is it working?"

"You wish." She said and turned to look at Ose. He was still busy signing books.

"My best friend's the author. I want to go say hi." She said and turned to face Desmond.

"Well, then. I can't leave a pretty lady to go on her own. Don't mind if I escort you?"

Rosanna raised her brow and then shrugged.

Ro has 'friendzoned' Ose while to Ose, He took the line(I love u) personal considering she was drunk at the time and would/may not remember what happened. 'Going with the flow' has really given him hope (I just hope that hope be not crushed). 'Realisation' has dawned on Seyifunmi and she knows she was too quick to jump to conclusion as the lady she accused was busy trying to make Dele's dream of her become a reality. Thanks Millie.

Episode 26 - Zones

Ose tried his very best to listen to the marketing techniques Mr. Koko was talking about. He really did. But his eyes trained on the fair hand on Rosanna's dark skin made his mind impenetrable to anything that wasn't the reason the big, pompous oaf had a hand on his girl.

The annoying part was the guy kept on traipsing round her like bee to blue flowers and Rosanna kept on giggling at the garbage he was spewing out of his mouth. The guy had been the only one who had left a negative review of his debut novel and now, he was dancing round his girl?

Rosanna burst into a hearty laughter at something the guy said and the guy joined her in laughter. Rosanna had her head tilted up in laughter, so she didn't see the lecherous look on the man's face. He stared at HIS girl like ant would look at a sugar cube.

"Ose!" Mr. Koko shouted and he turned to look at the man.

"I'm sorry, what?" Ose said, trying to keep his neck from turning.

"I said, Mr. Amaechi is here with his wife and we should go greet them." Mr. Koko drawled with his brows kissing his forehead in confusion.

"Oh!" Ose said and gave a weak smile, "Alright."

Mr. Koko led the way to the other side of the hall and he turned to look at Rosanna again.

He hoped she wouldn't balk if she saw her father. Thankfully, the bastard had taken his hand off of Rosanna. He followed the man till he came face to face with the man who owned the publishing house and the father of the woman he loved.

"Good evening, sir." Mr Koko greeted. "Good evening ma."

They responded with smiles and Ose greeted them as well.

"Well, if it isn't our money bag," Francis Amaechi said and turned to his wife, "he's our most lucrative writer till date."

"Congratulations, Mr. Lawrence." Mrs. Amaechi put in.

"Please, call me Ose. Mr. Lawrence is my father." Ose quipped and the buxom lady laughed heartily.

This woman was twice Rosanna's mum's size and yet, half her age. Seemed his soon to be father-in-law loved them big and young. Well, that was his business.

"Oh my God! Francis, is that Rosanna over there?" Mrs. Amaechi cried pointing across the hall. He turned and saw Rosanna talking animatedly with Desmond.

The man's eyes grew wider than his glasses as he stared in the direction his wife pointed.

"She's back in Nigeria? I thought she was never coming back." Francis Amaechi mused out loud.

"Maybe her marriage to Dare didn't work out." Mrs Amaechi whispered not so quietly.

Ose wanted to tell them just how heartbroken Dare's death and his disownment of her left her, but it wasn't his place.

"We should go and talk to her." Mrs. Amaechi suggested and her husband nodded.

"Please excuse us." The man said and left with his wife.

"I don't remember sending her an invite and she's not with the Amaechis. I hope she's not gate-crashing." Mr. Koko said frowning.

"She's with me. She's my girlfriend." Ose said proudly.

"Oh!" Mr. Koko said, ashamed.

*****

"Rosanna?!" She heard her father's voice call from behind her. She cringed and picked up her clutch. She wasn't going to wait for him to embarrass her and throw her out on her ear.

"I'm sorry I have to go." She told Desmond and made to leave.

"Rosanna, wait." Her father called and she halted in her tracks.

She spun to face him.

"I'm going already. No need to humiliate me further." She said.

She knew it was a bad idea coming here, but when Ose had begged her to be in attendance, she wasn't able to refuse him. Ose had been there for her in the darkest days of her life and he deserved her presence on the happiest days of his.

"I'm not here to humiliate you. I just wanted to see how you're doing and if Dare was treating you well." Her father said. Desmond slithered away under the glare of her stepmother. She scoffed at his yellow-heartedness.

All talk.

If it were Ose, he'd stand his ground. Anyway, they just met. She didn't expect him to put on chainmail for her.

She stiffened in defense. "What's it to you? I'm not your daughter."

"Rosanna." Her stepmother called in caution. She crossed her arms and her father gasped.

"Did he hurt you? Is that why you're divorced?" Her father whined in concern

"We never got married. He died." She answered with her voice cracking. She blinked back tears and clenched her jaws.

"I'm sure you're happy." She gritted.

"Of course not. I know how much he meant to you."

So you knew and you didn't want to give your blessings?

She scoffed again in irritation.

"It's been a slice, but I need to leave." She said and walked smack into Ose.

"Ro, it's been three years already. How long is this feud going to last?" He asked as he placed his hands on her arms.

"Rosanna, your friend is right." Her stepmother called from behind her.

"It's time to bury the hatchet." Ose whispered.

She groaned as tears stung her eyes. She wouldn't pretend that she didn't miss her father. The year they spent together was one of the best of her life.

Why did he have to reject Dare? If he hadn't they'd have gotten married sooner and maybe Dare would never have had the accident.

She didn't realize she'd been thinking out loud till Ose said, "He'd still have given his only functional kidney to Alicia."

She bit her lips to stop herself from crying. That was the hurtful part. That Dare broke his promise to wait till her return before signing the consent form.

Ose wiped off her tears with his thumbs and whispered, "You're more beautiful when you smile."

She stiffled a smile and said, "Still corny."

"Give a guy a break." Ose whined and she laughed.

She turned back to face her father.

"I'm sorry, Dad." She apologized.

"I'm sorry too, Rosanna." Her father said and held his arms wide open.

She took hesitant steps and hugged her father. Her stepmother cheered and clapped.

She pulled away and her father carressed her face. She beamed at him. She'd missed that.

"Thank you, Ose. I didn't know you knew my daughter." Her father said and she grinned.

"Then let me do the introductions then. Ose, my Dad and stepmother, Mr and Mrs Francis and Eugenia Amaechi. Dad, this is Ose, my best friend and date tonight."

She caught Ose's smile waning and turned to see what could have caused his frown. She didn't see anything out of the ordinary and she shrugged it off.

"Friends eh?" Her stepmom drawled, wagging her brows and grinning with a suspicious smirk. "It seems like there's more than friendship going on here."

"I thought I was the only one seeing it." Her father commented smirking.

She burst into laughter at how ludicrous it sounded. She and Ose? More than friends? They were imagining things.

"We're only friends," she reiterated and turned to Ose for support.

He gave a weak laugh and excused himself on the pretext of having to make a call.

Did something upset him?

She saw a weird look on her stepmom's face. Did she see what upset him?

"What?!" She asked in concern.

"Nothing," her father said, "Come on. Your godfather is here."

"Really?" She cried in excitement.

*****

She got out of the vehicle and slammed the door without waiting for him to kill the engine. If she was angry then he was boiling mad. How could she tell her father he was just her best friend and her date? For crying out loud, they were in a relationship, and that was the most disrespectful thing ever.

The most annoying thing was she was flirting around with different men. He thought the incident with Desmond Okoye was just innocent, but it wasn't. Not when she had gone on to flirt with another man who took her interest as an excuse to handle her and had cupped her breast at the bar.

He did the next thing any normal, red-blooded boyfriend would do when he saw that. He punched the man and asked him to stay away from his girlfriend. What right did he have to touch her? He was her boyfriend and he hadn't even gotten to second base yet.

She'd gotten angry at him for causing a scene, claiming she had the situation under control. He could see just how much control she had.

He hissed and turned off his car. He was going to have a heart-to-heart with her. His days of illicit hidden relationships were over. He wasn't going to go through the hiding and pretence he went through with Bibiana with her. Not her.

He got out of his car and walked to the stairs by the side of the building that led to his own quarter of the storey building. He jogged up the stairs and yanked the door open. He locked the metal door behind him and left the keys in the lock.

He walked to the living room and met her taking off her shoes.

"What the hell, Ose? What was that? You didn't have to punch the guy. I had everything under control." She shouted.

"Don't give me that shit, Rosanna. You expect me to sit by and watch another man handle you and just stay still?" He shouted back.

"Look, I know you care about me but I don't need you being my pretend boyfriend twenty-four-seven. I can take care of myself." She said and his brain ticked with anger.

"Pretend boyfriend. Are you crazy? Is that why you told your father I'm your date and best friend?" He shouted and she frowned in confusion.

Did she think he was going to have an open relationship with her? Was that what she meant by going with the flow? She better think again.

"What else am I supposed to introduce you as? Last time I checked, you're my friend." She said and gestured her hands out in question.

"Is this some sort of sick joke?" He shouted and stalk closer to her.

"You tell me!" She snarled.

"So when you kissed me and told me you loved me so much, it was all a joke?" He shouted and her glare loosened.

"What in tarnation are you talking about?" She asked.

He scoffed and said, "Go ahead and pretend."

"Ose, why would I kiss you? And if I did I sure would remember." She said softly.

It hit him then that she could have forgotten.

Could she have really forgotten?

No. God please.

"So after we left the club that night, you don't remember anything?" He asked.

"The last I remember is me asking if we could split the rent. What is going on Ose?"

He groaned and remembered the conversation she'd started in the taxi about picking up the tabs around the house since she had a job. She said she didn't want to be a loafer. Her over-familiarity had bred Seyifunmi's contempt.

"F*uck!" He swore and turned away from her.

She'd forgotten.

But if she had said she loved him while drunk and had kissed him, that meant that was how she truly felt.

He turned to face her.

"You kissed me that night, Rosanna." He said and her face turned pale. "You told me you loved me."

"Oh my God!" She cried. "Ose, I-"

"Ro, is that the truth?" He asked and walked closer to her.

"Ose, I love you but not in that sense. I-"

"Stop lying." He said and closed the gap between them.

"I'm not." She said, blinking.

Oh, she definitely loved him in that sense.

"Then why did you kiss me?"

"It was a mistake. I was drunk." She said and took steps backwards.

He took the same number of steps forward and said, "I don't think it was a mistake."

He launched his hand out and grabbed her waist. He dipped his head and kissed her.

She pressed her hands against his chest and tried pushing him. He didn't relent and her protests stopped. Her hand laxed against his chest and she whimpered against his lips. He deepened the kiss and she let out a little moan as her hands wrapped themselves around his neck.

Her tongue licked and danced with his as she took over the kiss. He let her as his hands rode upward to the breasts he couldn't stop thinking about.

His hands grazed the sides of her breasts and she moaned into his mouth. Her hands caressed his head in response as his moved down to pull her blouse out of her pants so he could touch her bare skin.

He tugged the chiffon blouse out and she jerked away and skittered out of their steamy embrace.

"Oh my God!" She cried in horror.

"Ro-" He said and moved closer to her. She moved back with tears in her eyes.

"Please stay back." She cried.

"Ro, let's talk about this." He pleaded. Her tears were bruising his heart.

"Ose, please. Just forget this happened. Please!" She cried.

"Rosanna, I can't. I won't. I can't forget the best kiss I've ever had. Let's talk about it. Please"

"No," she shouted, "Why are you so bent on turning this beautiful friendship into something-"

"Better?"

"Horrible." She stated.

"Don't be melodramatic. I love you,Ro." He said.

"Well, I don't. At least, not enough to be with you. Please. Just forget this." She said and ran to her room.

"Rosanna." He shouted after her. He walked to her room and banged on her door.

"Rosanna, come out and let's talk about this like adults." He shouted, banging on her door.

"Rosanna!"

He kept on shouting her name but she didn't answer.

Hahahaha.... grin grin grin grin grin grin cheesy
Seriously speaking, I don't just know who to blame between Ose and Rosanna..
Ose failed to define the relationship from the very start but instead Ro took the familiarity to a ship called the FRIEND-ZONE shocked shocked shocked

Guys this is a great call to y'all to be careful on how much familiarity you give the ladies especially those you wanna start something serious with cos without much familiarity, there will definitely be TENSION always whenever the two of you are together a d that's what deceives the ladies into thinking that there was a CONNECTION between you two. And of course y'all know what those TENSIONS or should I say CONNECTIONS lead to ?? wink wink shocked shocked

Be wise Kings and always KING like my man DELE !!! (such a direct guy).

This word still gets me everytime 'I see you as a friend and not a boyfriend'. I think that's second on my most painful statement ever heard. Never try to form bonds of relationship with a lady/guy who is reeling from the pains of his/her past relationship. When u will think it's heading to the permanent site, you are shocked back to reality that all you've been doing was building sand castles in the air. I can feel Ose's pain.

Episode 27 - Sisters.

Rosanna wondered who was at the door as she slipped on a pair of hotpants. Only her father, mum and step mother knew her new address. After Ose's persistence on trying to start a relationship with her, she'd gotten a loan from her father and gotten a mini-flat in Obalende. She couldn't be in the same space as him.

She buttoned up and walked to the door. Maybe it was her father's driver. He'd promised to send old furniture to her, together with some foodstuff. She didn't want them, but he'd insisted.

She only agreed if he collected the money she'd borrowed when she returned it. He accepted.

She unlocked the door and saw Seyifunmi smiling at her. She scoffed and tried to slam the door but Seyifunmi blocked it with her hand.

"What do you want?" She groaned and crossed her arms across her chest.

"I'm here to apologise." Seyifunmi said.

"And why should I listen to you?"

Seyifunmi smiled and brought a bottle of chocolate flavoured vodka out of the customized cloth bag she was holding.

"I brought vodka and small chops."

Rosanna sighed and said, "Come in."
Seyifunmi tittered and skipped in. She locked the door and gestured to Seyifunmi to take a seat in one of the throw pillow padded plastic armchairs.

Seyifunmi sat and Rosanna walked to get cups and plates. She set them down on the plastic stool beside Seyifunmi.

"Ro, I'm sorry. I was a total jerk, fool and-"

"The worst person in existence?" Rosanna supplied.

"That too. I'm so sorry. I'll do anything you want. Please forgive me. I miss my best friend." Seyifunmi whined.

Rosanna rolled her eyes.

"Please." Seyifunmi begged.

Rosanna sighed and said, "Fine. I forgive you."

Seyifunmi squealed and jumped out of her seat to hug her. Seyifunmi squeezed her as she chanted thank you.

"You're going to asphyxiate me!" Rosanna wheezed and Seyifunmi pulled away.

"Sorry."

She sat back in her seat and tittered nervously.

"So, what are waiting for? Pass me the small chops and spill. I know you have juicy gist with that look on your face." Rosanna said, laughing and stretched her hand out.

Seyifunmi dipped her hand into the bag and handed her two foil packs of small chops.

"Ooh! It's warm!" Rosanna cried in nirvana and ripped the cardboard lid away. She sniffed in the aroma and stabbed a puff-puff with a toothpick and threw it into her mouth.

Seyifunmi laughed and shook her head as Rosanna moaned.

"God, it's peppered puff." Rosanna groaned with her mouth full.

"You're cray." Seyifunmi said, laughing.

Rosanna stuck out her tongue after swallowing. "Na you sabi."

"Anyway, I have big news," Seyifunmi chippered and flipped open her saddlebag and brought out a ring and slipped it onto her left ring finger.

"Dele proposed!" She squealed and held out her hand.

"Holy f*uck!" Rosanna cried and set her foil pack down on the floor and examined the ring.

"Look at the size of that amethyst!" Rosanna said, running her thumb over the filigreed inlay.

"Point of correction. It's a real purple f*ucking diamond." Seyifunmi gloated.

"Shut up!" Rosanna said and raised her head bent over the ring.

"I'm serious. I didn't even know that there were purple diamond. It even came with a certificate of authenticity. I didn't even know they did that." Seyifunmi said with glee.

"Wow! Dele went all out, didn't he?" Rosanna said and picked up her foil plate.

"That's not even the best part." Seyifunmi said and took off the ring and handed it to Rosanna. "Check out the engraving."

Rosanna squinted as she examined the shank and caught the cursive writing written on the inside of the ring.

"My silver lining, my rainbow." Rosanna read smiling. "Awwn. Délé's so cute."

She looked at the inlay. "Are these leaves?"

Seyifunmi grinned. "Lavender leaves. The symbol of eternal love."

"Awwn."

"I swear, Dele shocked me. First, he took me to Seychelles. We spent close to a week there. God, Ro, it was freaking amazing. We came back and we went to dinner at this fancy Yoruba cuisine place and then he took me to a place, blindfolded me and led me to a lawn.

"And then he proposed. He gave the sweetest speech I've ever heard. And then, he proposed while the sprinklers were on signifying the rain that fell on our first date. And right in front of our new house!" Seyifunmi recounted.

"Shut up!" Rosanna shouted. "You're joking, aren't you?"

"I swear, Ro. He f*ucking built a house, no, scratch that, a f*ucking mansion for us. And furnished it to my taste." Seyifunmi cried with tears brimming in her eyes. "He's amazing, Ro. And I'm going to spend the rest of my life with him."

Rosanna smiled, handed the ring back and said, "I'm really happ thanksy for you. At least, one of us ended up with our soulmates. Thank God, you didn't go through with your plan to put Tinu in her place."

Seyifunmi's smile died and she scratched her neck and Rosanna gasped.

"Seyifunmi Aladesuyi, what did you do?" Rosanna groaned.

"I messed up. I went through with it and then, talked to Dele and he explained everything to be a big misunderstanding." Seyifunmi said, contrite and slipped her ring back on.

"I told you, didn't I?" Rosanna said.

"I know."

"Have you apologised to her?"

"No!" Seyifunmi groaned. "She doesn't pick my calls, reply to my messages. I must have left her a million messages. Whenever I go to visit her, she's never around. I think she's avoiding me."

"Ya think?"

"Maybe she's forgiven me, but does not want to see me? She didn't say anything to Dele." Seyifunmi put in and Rosanna raised her brow.

"I doubt. Maybe you should come clean to Dele, so he can apologise to her on your behalf." Rosanna advised.

"He'll kill me!" Seyifunmi shouted. "Like when he explained, the first thing he said was thank God you didn't go pulling Tinu's hair or something. If I tell him I called Tinu a slut first before talking to him, hell flip."

"Well, you didn't do what a normal human being would do."

"I know. I just want to settle it without telling Dele."

"Okay. Whatever you say." Rosanna said.

"Anyway, how did you know this place?" Rosanna asked as she stuffed her mouth with a spring roll.

"Well, Ose."

"What?!" Rosanna shouted. "He knows here?"

"Are you running away from him?" Seyifunmi jived, laughing.

"No, but-"

"He got it from your Dad." Seyifunmi supplied.

"Dad!" Rosanna shouted in anger. "I told him not to give anyone my address."

"Well, when you call someone your best friend and date, he doesn't qualify as anyone." Seyifunmi said.

"Did Ose tell you what happened?" Rosanna said with her face coated with shame.

"I kinda pieced it together from the snippets he told me." Seyifunmi said as she poured herself some vodka.

"He told me he loves me." Rosanna said twirling a piece of beer battered shrimp around in the plate.

"Is that news to you?" Seyifunmi said and handed Rosanna a cup of vodka.

Ro's eyes popped out of her sockets. "You knew?"

"Ro, anyone with a pair of eyes could see it." Seyifunmi said and brought out a pack of small chops for herself.

Rosanna remembered her stepmother's comment. Was it that obvious? How did she not notice?

"I can't have a relationship with Ose. He's too-"

"Too what?"

"I don't know. I just can't. It's too soon." Rosanna said and took a sip of her vodka.

"It's been three years, Ro. It's okay to move on. It's okay to admit you're in love with Ose." Seyifunmi cooed and reached out to touch Rosanna's hand.

Rosanna scoffed. "It takes more than love to be in a relationship with someone. Dare proved that to me. It takes a certain level of trust. And after everything we went through, Dare still didn't trust me enough to save his daughter's life. Maybe I didn't deserve that trust."

She sniffled and blinked back tears.

"Why didn't you tell me Dare had a daughter?" Seyifunmi whispered.

"Because I want you get discouraged or to push Dele away because of what went down with me and Dare. I was trying to protect you." Rosanna said with tears rolling down her cheeks.

"I feel like scum now." Seyifunmi said with tears pooling in her eyes.

Rosanna laughed, "It's okay. It's in the past."

"Can you tell me everything that happened?"

Hmmm. Emotional hurts has ways of connecting those with deeper emotional hurt. I don't know how to put it but it's what it is.

I was offering the babes a chance at love with Elvictor.

The bonus book is a short story I'll upload on my birthday. I've even started writing.
