Good morning guys,
Why do we always choose IOM over Q-LIFE for Medical screening?
its a better option

Bro, but why is that University fond of doing such? On their website, they post very very low fees, but I got to find out that there are other fees one must pay which at the end, makes it one of the most expensive schools. Why are they misleading the public? I don't even know why that school is among the top less expensive schools on the internet. I've even sent them a mail and they replied same thing on that website that is misleading, although they know there are other fees to be paid. Is it their strategy or something? It's so sad.
Phatkayconcept:

Hi bro,

Could you check your offer and funding letter carefully, plus check the tution fee very clearly, so you can ascertain the correct fees. Get to know whether the fees were quoted per term or per year. If you are sure that this information is correct as you have quoted, that make sense, however, if you mistakenly quoted the fee, check it out and know how much exactly your financial situation should be.

One year tuition
Living expenses, say CAD 10,000
Others, say CAD 3000

If you ar self sponsored, you have to show viable financial plan to pay subsequent fees.

With your experience in freelancing, I wouldn't mind to connect with you. I am also a freelancer!

Hello house,
Good evening all
Please I applied for study permit on the 24 July but till now I haven't gotten any other update on my application
Status reads eligibility review on going and background check not applicable

Is it okay if I request for my GCMS notes to know the status of my application besides my school resumes September 8.

The time is too short to request for a GCMS notes on your application. Its better you wait as your application is barely a month old and no much activity could have been done within this time.

It will end in praise

Someone please come to my aid!!!!!!! My wife had a 3rd Class in Computer Science and I want her to go to Canada for her PGD and also a place where the tuition fees are very much affordable. We've searched for cheap schools but we've found out that, one school called Memorial University of Newfoundland has cheap tuition fees on their website but mhen, it's a trap coz there are other fees attached to it without ur knowledge and when attached, it makes it one of the most expensive schools in Canada, and funny enough they don't offer PGD for Computer Science. Can someone please help me with a link or many links that will assist her in getting cheap colleges that will accept her in that same Computer Science field for PGD, please!!!!!!

Good morning house, I must say this thread has been most useful and informative. Kudos to everyone sharing genuine and useful tips.
I applied for my study permit since May 1st and I am yet to get any AIP or medical request (my admission is for fall). To be honest I am not feeling so confident about my application and after going through all the tips shared here I now know I could have done more to package my application before submitting. I have booked for my biometrics collection for next week and now I want to consider deferring my admission to winter 2021 while I take more time to repackage my next application if need be.

The question is since my application is still in process do I need to send my new admission letter for winter 2021 to ICCC via webform?
If my study permit application turns out to be positive will my deferral to winter 2021 have any negative impact?

Please Gurus I will appreciate your assistance on this. Many thanks

See wat I will advice you to do. Defer the admission first. Since you application is still in process and no decison has been made, apply for your gcms note, With all the information you have gotten here, if theres anything you wish to include in your present application, you can send via webform. The gcms note helps to tell you exactly what's delaying your application, this will help you to either repackage your next application or include extra documents to increase your eligibility of being issued a visa.

My 2kobo.

Hmm. Other fees aside tuition are not hidden. They are usually stated on the website. However, we often don’t think about them. As a permanent resident, my other fees is almost equivalent to my continuing tuition. these levies cover things like graduate student association fees, student insurance, donation, bus pass, etc. You can opt out of some but not all. To avoid mix up, most schools, if not all, charge these things separately and sometimes per semester.

All the best.

Computer Science is a very wide field , jz like Medicine & Geology, so she would likely not see a PGD in computer science in a college, she will only see programs (specialized programs) closely related to It e.g Cyber security, IT Business Analysis, programming ,Animation, GIS, software development, mobile development. Web development etc.

She can check out the link below for Computer Sci. Related Graduate Programs and schools offering them
https://www.ontariocolleges.ca/en/programs/search?q=Compute&page=0&by%5BProgramCredentialEnglish%5D%5B0%5D=Graduate%20Certificate

and also she should search for a Computer sci. related PGD course of her interest in that SEARCH BOX of that link above

Also find attached a PDF file of Colleges and their programs in Canada,

Look for Graduate Certificate in Computer Science Related Programs,
then google them , and check out their Admission requirements and also their respective Tuition fee for International students

From a Vlog I saw recently, Tuition fee of some schools in Canada most esp. ONTARIO province have bin increased within the range of 3% &15%

Hello House,
Please at what point does review of eligibility change on ones profile? because on my profile it still show "we are reviewing whether you meet eligibility requirements" same thing with the Background Check.
Is this normal? Please keep in mind that I already got AIP and Medical request o.

Many Nigerian visa agents are yahoo boys that can finish your savings and traveling dreams, even turn you to a criminal, by submitting fake documents, and rarely get arrested for it. Are you sure you not just an ATM to this agent? It is well.

Insightful! Thank you very much
sonofakin:
Different factors are likely. Note that the supervisor might tell you to apply if they like your profile, have money to fund you, and have a space in their lab for you. However, a supervisor might not necessarily commit to only you. For example, he might have just one space in his lab, different applicants might have approached him and to make it competitive, he tells everyone that fits his standard to apply and together with the admissions committee, they end up choosing the best after reviewing the documents of the applicants. So ofcourse having a supervisor does not guarantee admission. Also, remember that you only sent a skeletal part of your application package when you contact a supervisor by email. By the time you apply, you include other documents like recommendation letters and SOP, all of which can make or break you. Ultimately, getting a supervisor is not easy, some people send up to 200 emails. You end up scraping different schools website, constantly adjusting your research interest, stuffs like that. Just keep putting in the effort. Ofcourse it can be frustrating
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by Rubbie21: 12:56pm On Aug 25, 2020
Thank you very much @Osemigho. I understand your experience and I've spent quite alot searching because of my choice of course so Ican relate to your experience.
Osemigho:

Great response. Another thing is the departmental quota system. Some departments have limits to the number of students a prof can supervise or the admission committee may decide to give certain profs more student than others. Some profs don’t even know if they have reached their limit or not. Some of them hate and don’t follow up with paperwork/non-academic stuffs like that.

Also, some departments, particularly those that offer full scholarships, limit the number of international students they can take. International students funding will take higher chunk of their budget, due to high tuition fees, compare to local students.

Finally, Canada has few universities for its increasing pool of international students. That is why it is harder to get fully funded masters thesis or PhD admission with low grade, anything less than 4.0, in Canada, something that is possible in the US due to high number of universities.

As such, you should apply to more than one Canada graduate university program with supervisors to increase your chances. Otherwise, you may have to wait another one year if the only one or two you applied to did not offer you a seat. At this stage, your potential supervisor will likely just wish you best of luck for the future.

People say experience is the best teacher. However, you can learn from others and don’t have to be the one that experienced it. I experienced it and it was a huge blow. It took time for me to recover and not without encouragement from others.

All the best.
