the knowledge you will gain when you study sociology is not a weast, even if you don,t secure white collar job the knowledge would help you in your business, in terms of marketing your products(because of understanding of human behaviour and society ) also if you have a large scale business sociological knowledge would enable you employ the right people and to manage your employee

same way Benz was crap, but the German government patronise her. speaking of research, producers will be lazy to r n d cos after spending millions on such, the govt n ppl will buy China or any goods from the west.anf with this high level of interference by China and west in our local polity, we need to sit down and talk as a people.

I studied sociology from University of Ilorin, but work in an Insurance service provider, we investigate claims for insurance. No Knowledge is a waste, is what you make out of the knowledge not the certificate.

if u reading it just to be a graduate or just for the interest of it then no yawa but if u reading it with the hope that u can earn a living with it that go hard oo.Even in the US the best u can do with such a degree is become a high school teacher or a lecturer.Even Mia Khalifa when she read history in college couldnt get a good job until she ventured into porn.Today she is a sports commentator..so she aint using her unviversity degree.But since u said u wanted to study law and it was ur desire to be a lawyer then maybe when u get your sociology degree u can use it to further in your law pursuits.Seek the advice of ppl who are practicing lawyers and they will give u a good advice on ur career path towards becoming a lawyer.But if u feel there is no time for u to further wen u graduate and u want to use ur sociology bsc to work in naija then at best maybe u will become a primary or secondary school teacher...but again in the same naija if u get connection no matter the course u read in the univ u can get a good job..weda na hausa,history,pub admin etc.So i ask...how many uncles or relations u get in the corridors of power for abuja

like my lecturer will say; sociology is a jack of all trade and master of none. they know everything, but just not perfect with everything.

they can work anywhere you fit them cos there's is just no organisation that's not in need of a sociologist, just that this country been no balance from the onset, so how sociologists wan take balance.

I read Sociology. I don't regret it.. I am Currently an Health Entrepreneur but applying all my sociological skills while on the job.

Done NGO jobs, civil service, customer services in private sector, and many others before I decided to pick a societal problem and focus on it which is what sociology is all about. Am proud of the few people whose life I have been able to lighten up with the problem I solve. Am still a work in progress. Never stopping.

Change your mindset about certificates and jobs. Sociology exposes you to societal problems and develops your critical thinking abilities to solve those problems. It's broad and helps you fit anywhere.

The first thing people ask me when they meet me is if I am a medical doctor. Lol. I only read Sociology but as a problem solver and with my research abilities, I know much more than your doctor.

dont you have any friend or colleague that is into law?
what of ur lecturers?
are u not close to any of them?
You should have one or two lecturers as ur friends
agreed many naija lecturers are heartless and are not interested in the progress of their students but then not all of them are like that.
make friends with any lecturer in the law dept section and tell him or her about ur aspirations and he or she will tell u the right step to get to that path.
