Lekiboboe:

U are good to go..,it's only the quantity of documents you need to take note of

- Biometric Instruction Letter (1 copy)
- Appointment letter (1 copy)
- Your International Passport
- 2 Coloured Copies of ur International Passport Data Page (Print this before going to the Center, cos if u don't , u would be left with no choice than to print it at an outrageous amount at the center)

Once you enter the VAC office (based on your appointment time), you shouldn't spend more than 20-30 minutes cos some Applicants do have challenge of their Face not Focusing well at the Camera Lens when on the verge of capturing.

Visit the link below for BIOMETRICS EXPERIENCE AT the LAGOS CENTER (LEKKI)
https://www.nairaland.com/5818588/canadian-student-visa-thread-part/258#93163924

Note: Ignore any tout that comes to meet you that you need Passport Photograph, it is not needed
Thanks for this info.
In addition, for those who are going for biometrics, ensure your printed documents are very good and sharp ensure the numbers are clear else you'll be asked to go out and reprint it in 30mins. And the only Business (exploit) center around there charges N500 to print one colored page and N300 for B/W.
You don't wanna spend almost 3k to reprint blurred documents, or depends on the pressure you might be asked to rebook.

Thanks Lekiboboe

For Instance, I am proposing to apply to a course that is not even related to my previous course cause I found out I made a wrong choice and I want to start all over again.
Start all over in your country grin grin cool grin grin

Yes your family can serve has good home ties but you need to explain to the VO why you would want to come back to them after your studies in Canada.
Just be emotional and make the VO feel for you and reason with all your points.
What course are you going for?
Does your course have a good job prospect here in Nigeria?
All the bestest Sir/Ma’

Mehn bro...I have been thinking of the story I will tell on why I would want to return to my family, I just dey blank. I am still trying to rack my brain though.

I am going for Chemical Engineering (MSc). Would me putting something like "the oil industry of Nigeria is not fully developed at the moment and I would love to use the knowledge acquired to solve the problems" be enough as home ties??

Anyone with ideas please...

Hi.. Did your AIP come with specific instructions to get the Police Character clearance certificate?

Luckymama:

Quick question on the police clearance please. I just did mine and they gave two documents the document I did fingerprints on and the clearance certificate. Am I to scan the both of them or just the certificate?

Tell Then that the Oil in Nigeria is too Much and the industry require a lot of expertise and you will be ripe for the Job when you are done in Canada!

Hello,

Please I already sent you an email.
Thank you!

My response is based on this link
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/study-canada/study-permit/prepare-arrival/study-permit-conditions.html

If their is a one year entry rule, then you should be fine. Hopefully, someone else can clarify the one year rule for you.

You don't have to talk about internet connection or complicate things. I recommend you say the truth. You deffered because CIC couldn't give processing time and because of the pandemic. You already deffered before you recieve AIP and your program start date is fall of every year. I really can't tell you what to do. But yeah, send me a PM. We'll call IRCC on Tuesday.

PPR means passport request.

Goodluck

oil is too much? The oil sector all around the world is in a downturn right now and oil companies are downsizing. That story won't work.

No. But it was the only other document I hadn’t submitted so I thought I might as well submit it. I submitted an upfront medical with the application which has been updated to passed long ago. It’s a second application so I already have biometrics done. Ordinarily I felt they should have given a straight approval not an AIP so maybe it’s the police character that may be stopping it.

Yeah...I agree. Writing that oil is "too much" might not work...I'll find a way of giving a more convincing statement...thanks a lot guys..

Also, I was quite happy when I read that I can do medicals on weekends (cause skipping work is not easy for me)...but does this apply to the Biometrics process too. Like, can I do my Biometrics on a Saturday too??

Dear Nairalanders,
I applied for Canada study visa but was denied. Sir to Covid-19 pandemic leading to business lockdown and restrictions as you know I havent been able to retrieve my passport from vfs office and Canadian embassy.
Due to urgent need for application to another country I am planning to declare the passport missing then replace it at passport office following the process. Someone had told me that that can land me on travel ban for 5 years.
Do you think same too? Do you think there could be huge penalties to That? Please advice me candidly!

Thanks for your usual assistance, I'm still counting on you.

Good day everyone.

Please I have few questions.

1. In the titution/room and board section. Should I include the money for one year or two years? Considering that I have the full money to cover my 2 year program.

2. I being sponsored fully by my parents but I start working about 5 months ago. Should I include the statement of account from my salary account? I have less than 100k there.

3. Is it necessary to get a reference letter from my current place of employment (because I was refused one after I requested).

Thank you all

Good morning. Please edit your post. Your attached picture contains sensitive information (name and student ID) It´s not safe to share such on public platforms. You can blurr it and repost.
Tuition = 1 year tuition, Room and board = minimum of 10,000 CAD (living expense for 1 year) or if the admission letter stated what living expense is needed you can use that. Other = miscellaneous (transport, insurance, books...) All the best

My DEAR

Some where up there i also wrote it is an opinion and also based on information and experience .
Everytime you people will be asking of source , is there anywhere that there is a source of VISA approval/Rejections?

You went on to give us a name of JUST one person , NAIJAFOREIGNER? not 100 people not 1000people?

How many people are following this thread?
How many people are replying this comment?

But you only one person who had 2.1 and went to College? Do you know how many people apply to college from Nigeria alone? use this page as a guide , you will be surprised, then follow up with them one after the other and ask them about their application and how it went.

Most of them even backed out and have left NAIRALAND.

I wrote my experience down and you are countering with mere sentiments? do you know how many college applications i am personally aware of? they are not even on this page, even some people who live in Europe who came back to Nigeria Just to apply.... This Naija people dey tire sometimes.

My brother if 100 people Applied to College in Canada with 1st Class or 2.1 or 2.2, Tell anybody anywhere that i said it, Less than 10 People will get Approval, Come up with your content and i will waiting.

STOP making people throw their Monies away for nothing. If you want Send your application to the best Pastor to pray on it, if na College oo, Your application change is through the eye of the needle.

Mind you , If you are applying for COLLEGE, be aware!

Hello sir,

I think we have had this discussion before.

No one can say for sure if applicants from Nigeria have greater chances of getting study permits with universities than colleges and vice versa. I don't think there is any data to support your assertions.

However, you are entitled to your opinion on the issue at hand and I respect it. I hope you have a good week.

I have become a bit rusty with regards to study application. If I missed anything, the gurus will help you out. Here is my take

(1) The money you should state for tuition is 1 year, room and board 10,000 Cad other could be 3,000 Cad

In the section that states something about funds available for my stay, you can then declare the total money you have available. In this case, your money covering 2 years.

What most people do is they sum up the tuition + accommodation + other = Funds available for stay (In your case, if you have more than that, you can declare it in this section, it's fine).

p:s Just make sure that the total money declared to be available for stay is not equal the total money in your sponsors account. What I mean is, your sponsor can't have 30M in their account and then you declare 30M as funds you have available for stay. Why? Under normal circumstances, your sponsor will not empty his/her account. They should have something left for their own upkeep.

(2) For sponsor, attach you parents statement of account, attach proof of relationship, source of income and letter of sponsorship.

For you the applicant, attach your salary account irrespective of the amount in the account.

P.s I have seen people who did not attach theirs and still got their permits. If you must attach, then you must show proof you actually have a job and work for that company.

(3) In my opinion, it does not have to be a reference letter. Anything that proves you are gainfully employed is more than enough.

Attach pay stubs and if you can, at least one of the following documents; reference letter, study leave, letter of introduction and so forth.
