Lekiboboe:

Hi ConradAce1,

So sorry about your sister's refusal,

Tell her to google & do research on the following PG. Cert programs

Broadcast Journalism – Television News
Fanshawe College of Applied Arts and Technology, London, ON

Journalism (Post Diploma)
College of the North Atlantic (CNA), Stephenville, NewFoundLand & Labrador

Journalism – New Media
Sheridan College, Oakville, ON

Journalism (Postgraduate)
Humber College Institute of Technology & Advanced Learning, Toronto, ON

Journalism – Arts and Entertainment
Centennial College, Toronto, ON

Sports Journalism
Centennial College, Toronto, ON

Contemporary Journalism
Centennial College, Toronto, ON

All the best in her next application

Note: she should try do some serious research & find how Linguistic relates with Journalism so she can able to connect it into details in her SOP

e.g

A journalist is expected to have good linguistic skills as a minimum in his job. A good command of his native language and hopefully one other major language is often a prerequisite to employment.

An incoherent or vague submission for publication is completely unacceptable.
Editors and publishers generally have language experts on staff to proof and correct any submissions but they can only work from material they can understand in all its nuances.

A journalist with poor linguistic skills is an insult to his or her profession

Wow. Thanks so Much for taking out your time. I’m so grateful. I will try but if I see a PGD in linguistics would go for It since it’s connecting.
Thanks again and again.

U are Welcome..

As per PGD/PG.Cert in Linguistic,no school in Canada is offering it.

Linguistic is only offered in the Masters, Bachelor's , Diploma, & Certificate Level in Canada

PG. Cert in Journalism is her best shot

I'm waiting for Vibrant99 to come and respond to ur query.. U're his number 1 fan.. Lolz.. It's good that u've ordered ur notes so you'll know where to start, but I think they weren't impressed with the first degree result.. This canada people sef know that most students will not return so they'll likely consider study permit for those who's profile kinda fit EE but can't get very high scores.. May God help us all.. Good luck in ur reapplication

Hahaha. You savage. Was all sad but your message made me laughed. Lol

Yeah. Reason why I couldn't get a master's program.
I will try a PGD and work on the source of finances.
I hope and pray best next time.
Thanks.

You are welcome,
Yeah you are right, but they didn't see it as a cogent reason I guess (No career Progression in terms of Educational Qualification i.e B.A to Dip, instead of a B.A to PG.Cert/PGD).

Cos It might be based on an Assumption from them that there are Linguistic-related programs (e.g Journalism) she would have gone for instead of a DIPLOMA which makes Purpose of Study Vague and the Diploma program will make it look as if your sister's primary intention of travelling to Canada is not to study.

All da best, You are welcome!

I agree with you Lekiboboe. Also, I feel a lot goes on in checking each applicants' profile whether going for Diploma or a logically progressive degree. I recently got connected to a woman, who got AIP for a Diploma program in New Brunswick - she has a Master degree already and it was clearly stated in her profile.

Another interesting thing is after many years working in the banking sector, she is now going for an IT program. I believe she did well by explaining her reasons in her LOE and SOP.

Good luck to us all.

While waiting for the notes, have discovered the followings to be address

1. Study program should be PGD instead of diploma in Journalism

2. Funding must be from one of the parents
Or fixed deposit or study loan not uncle. His got his own family.

3. Perfect the LOE/SOP. Make it worth.

I pend for further modifications
Thanks

You have a point, and some decisions made by a VO atimes can also be at their own DISCRETION

@ConradAce1, your sister should get her GCM note so she can have more detailed idea on why her application was refused

Hello guys, can one apply for tuition refunds with Gcms information. Even though you haven't received the official denial letter yet from IRCC.

Hello Sarmamotors,

The GCMS notes is legally recognized in the immigration system of Canada. It would be unfair if the school don't accept it but I strongly believe they will.

Why not try to reach out to your school by uploading the first page that bears your name and the page number that holds the VO's concerns. You can give tangible reason(s) for using it.

However, since you applied online, check your message area below your dash board in your Gckey account to see if it dropped as a PDF file.

[Thank you so much. I will try that. quote author=JustMellow post=93739859]

Hello Sugarbunny94,

You have a beautiful and envious profile. With your age, Master, work experience; especially if you desire for your family to join you, EE would have be the most suitable pathway for you. Try simulating your CRS score.

Another admirable thing again, you have a full funded Ph.D which very good. You may just have your study visa with ease.

If I own this wonderful profile, I would opt for a dual intent application (study route plus EE), esp if I can raise the funds. Just me thinking out loud though.

For the list of documents, kindly see page 1.

All the best

Hello LordAA,

Since IRCC made no concrete and reference to this with their new study rule, especially for students outside Canada, International students are safe to work while studying online from their home country. There's no need for resignation.

I have reviewed the application. Given family ties or economic motives to remain in Canada, the applicant's incentives to remain in Canada may outweight their ties vto their home country. According to the applicant's current or future employment prospects, i have accorded less weight to their employment ties to their country of residence. Weighing the factors in this application, i am not satisfied that the applicant's will depart Canada ar the end of the period authorized for their stay. Eligibility failed. pending Biometrics. please gurus this are their reason for denying my visa. what will i do? i need your advice to go about it. should i re apply. please help me out. tanx for ur great innovations

Hello Oonibest,

Focus on demonstrating your level of establishment and good employment status/employability. Also keep focus on HT as well.

May be others can also help if you try to detail out your employment situation et al and how it was demonstrated.

Good day everyone

Need your help
Applied: August 24th

Refusal: September 10th
I applied for Winter Semester.
The moment I saw a notification, I knew it was a rejection. can't process within that range.
Ordered for the GCMS notes already & waiting.

Got BA linguistics
Applied for Diploma in Journalism
Age. 25
Went for a diploma because she got a BA 3rd class

Jobs prospects. Copywriter, Reporter, Editor, Publisher, Public relations specialist and Corporate communications specialist.

Sponsor. Uncle & her self (86kCAD 15kCad )
She has a very close relationship with her uncle.
Asset. Land property worth 13kCAD & deed of gift (house) from mother.
She works too. (Language teaching & translation)
Got A study learn from job site
Did all I could but nothing
Suggestion said her LOE was week.

I hope to adjust this but I need advice on the following
How do I tackle finances
1. Have the money transferred to her account from the uncle and a sponsorship letter written ?

2. Student from the bank

3. Money comes from the mother .

Again. Can I get a law firm in Canada to continue from here ...
Look forth reading from you guys.
Thanks

Hello ConradAce1,

I share my empathy with you. The best solution is seek another admission for a PGD/C or Post Baccalaureate Diploma.

Since her previous study falls in-between numerous professions, she could also look at Public Administration.

If she has 15k as personal funds, I think she's good. If she feels comfortable paying for the first semester, then okay.

Is her mum also a sponsor and/or will she be capable to stand as her sponsor in her next application, if YES, then good. But if NO, she could eithrr act as a cosponsor or her uncle as her sole sponsor while the mother gives letter of support. If any monetary commitment is to be made, it should come from the uncle and properly addressed. The mother can also follow suit, no harm and it only makes her financial stronger.

Her age is really good and I believe she understands French likewise English, she could patiently stay back and pursue a Master then attempt IELTS and forge through the EE route.

I hope she gets it this time.

Yeah. I will change to a PGD.

Yes she into language teaching & translation
She's got IELTS too.

What if I made the dad the full sponsor and have her job and landed property added ??
And leave her uncle out of it go for someone with direct relationship (dad).

They don't release their details for wire transfer. Due to complications so they introduced 3 paths. CIBC is also good with good rates but the dollar spending limit won't make it possible so just do Western Union business solutions

He can use form a to pay. That's what I used. Or you can contact a student there to help you pay which is also good. I Know a senior colleague here who has graduated from Conestoga who can also help you pay it if you can't pay through form a or Western Union business solutions
