A community leader in the Logo Local Government Area of Benue State, Joseph Anawah, said, “He joined Tiv youths to go into battle against the Kuteb of Taraba State to protect his people. His bravery gave him the pseudonym of Gana. At the time the crisis subsided, Gana formed a militia group and in the cause of looking for a means of survival, he took to criminal activities of robbery and wherever there was a disagreement, squabbles in the community, he and his gang would intervene.

Why didn't he just start a business and make his "boys" branch managers? undecided

This reminds me of the thief at the right hand of Jesus Christ. Who knows what Gana and the priest discussed before his death? Never commit sin under the influence that your friend does, he may find grace at the very last minute.

They have already started killing terrorist, they should make sure they kill bokoharam repented terrorist the way they killed Gana, is not when it gets to Buhari brothers, amnesty will apply, Nigeria army should make sure they kill all the repentant terrorist, they are the ones kidnapping people in Abuja, customs controller has revealed it.

They should not take sides with bokoharam.

Well, whether justified killing or not, he(Gana) has killed by bullet and thus; died by same. This will not escalate like Boko haram because BH has religious backing, govt and international backing. Gov Ortom lack good security Intel and ginger. All I know is, boko haram terror will die some day (whether in Nigeria or a divided Nigeria).

He was a leader of a very deadly group that has thrown families into mourning, the so called repentant boko haram are just pawns, so you think shekau can ever be forgiven?

This is funny.

The same Gana's boys kidnapped a "big man" friend of mine last year and he didn't pay until he saw Gana himself there before he paid ransome .According to him, the Gana he saw was jovial and free.

The guy (Gana) is not the only one terrorising. His case is different because he is a pain in the ass of the fulani community and Some Jukun people.

There are other groups who terrorise people in Benue but they don't fight intruders.

Terrorism! It's unforgivable. But Shekau will LIVE LONGER than Gana when caught, I assure U.
Senator Suswam went to see Gana in the bush, alone as he requested. Same way some prominent northern leaders visit shekau.

The more you Look The Less You See.

New Revelations surrounding his death keep emerging every now and then...I don't have much to say but the scriptures has been fulfilled evil shall slay the wicked... Whether he was guilty or innocent we never can tell why all this happened, God has a way of averting danger in future.

As he stepped out to enter the car, he looked back at the town and decided to give up his wayward life. He was going to embrace amnesty and if the amnesty was a ploy to kill him to end the crisis, he warned that someone would emerge after him that would be more brutal than him.

That was how they killed Mohammed Yusuf and till date the sect is still a pain in our arse till date

Benue State You guys really tripped and I hope this ends well

He obviously and indirectly revealed that a plan B has been set up.
My hope is that when these guys start retaliating , they should be fair enough and take their attacks to the "right" people... And not on the innocent masses.

This journalist did an excellent job. Nothing like "someone who was not authorised to speak" said that the death was planned to silence him from exposing his sponsors.

Very detailed, no repetitions and very exploratory.

Kudos.

Technically, the bounty placed by the state or FG had not been lifted. So long as this was the case, he had to be brought in DOA.

Nobody deserves to be killed extrajudicial.
By all moral standards and also in the blind eyes of the law.
Saying "but he was a terrorist" means his killing was justified by your standards.
Only a court judge can determine if his crimes should take his life or not, not the army.

NA really messed up on this one but I guess their Ogas want the war to go on so they can continue embezzling war funds.

“Nigeria has very big problem! Honestly!

People support their own criminals and murderers, it doesn't matter that they are the ones that are the major victims.

The military killed the most dreaded killer in Benue State, and possibly the North Central, Tarwase Akwaza, popularly known as Gana. I saw the pain and distress it caused Gov. Ortom, who lamented that Gana was coming for SECOND AMNESTY before the military laid ambush and killed him.

SECOND AMNESTY!

Well, I thought that Ortom was alone in this pain until Uzordimma Enzo Nzeribe drew my attention to a post made by one Benue indigine, who said he had so much respect for the military, but had lost that respect because of the extrajudicial killing of Gana. He too explained that Gana was coming for SECOND. AMNESTY. I feel like crying! SECOND AMNESTY! After Gana had been granted the FIRST AMNESTY and properly settled by Ortom government.

I noticed that many other Benue indigines that responded to the post were equally sad that Gana was killed. They never tried to claim that the atrocities said to have been committed by Gana were lies; no attempts whatsoever to exonerate him, but they just think their own murderer should not have been killed. They quickly pointed out that even repented Book Haram are being granted amnesty.

This argument sounds good. "Since you are granting amnesty to Boko Haram, grant our own mass murderer his SECOND AMNESTY.

I came to tears. Tarwase wrecked havoc in Benue and Taraba. He was a devil who killed, raped, made villages desolate. His major victims were not Igbos nor Yoruba, they were Benue people. And those who are sad today that their own murderer has been killed are Benue indigines.

Nigeria!

I remember many Igbo people lamenting that Evans the kidnapper was being tried because he is Igbo. These people wondered whether government would try Evans if he were a Fulani. Yet, in all his escapades, Evans didn't kill a single Fulani man; all those he killed in the course of his job were prominent Igbo men.
But as Igbos, we needed to protect our own murderer.

What has really happened to this nation? Is there any hope at all with out shocking attitude?

Why can a people willingly and wantonly cut their nose just to spite their face?

God, I wish for my nation.”

Yeah .. cowards I bliv (atleast in this sense) because, if they know they're ] worth d way they should have used d leaked Info of his base, trailed, carried out a precise attack and killed him with some elements there.
Since repentance have taken place, embrace and fully assist in thier deradicalization.

Now this singular action of betrayal of trust will rather breed more criminals.

true talk my brother, killing the leader of a militia through open deception is a very dangerous game, one thing about Nigerian military leaders is that they don't think ahead.

what would happen if the remaining members of his civilian army decide to reorganise and regroup to wage a violent insurrectionist campaign against the military?

how would the already tired and weak looking nigerian army be able to face and confront aggression from multiple fronts in nigeria?

everyday we see Nigerian soldiers being slaughtered by Boko haram in the north East and bandits in other parts of the norths just because there are some persons who are using young soldiers as sacrificial lambs,

why didn't the army went to his strong hold to engaged him in a combat to prove superiority while he was alive?

the army should be ashamed to have killed him in such a manner.

The more violence groups out there, the more ogas in the enjoy from elicit money.

They know what they are doing, I pity the youths being sacrifice for the ogas greed.
