My 2 cents, and please do not mind the typos....

Its a little dicy...
You need to tells us more abt d admission... BSc,MSc,PhD, reseach/professional/, lenght of the programme, scholarship etc.
Also, the age of ur children is a factor to consider when making decisions.

VOs are not only psychologists, they're also practical humans... You also need to be truthful to yourself when answering the below questions to enable u make the right decision, as u are actually puting urself in the VOs position.

1. Is it practical to concentrate on studies when nursing 4 kids alone in an expensive country?
2. Is it practical to allow your hubby nurse 4 kids alone while you are away for say 1/2/3/4/5/6 years for studies?

These are the gray areas you need to work on in ur SOP explaining how you plan to manage the practical situation.

e.g. travelling without family...
I wld av loved to travel with my children as we are very much attached, but because they are grown ups and I am only going for a year programme, I believe that they will be ok with their dad. In addition, I plan to become certified/chartered in xyz before graduation so I wouldn't want any distractions. I may invite my family for a visit during the summer break.

e.g. trvelling with family but without hubby...
I wld be traveling with my children as they are stll young and we are very much attached. I will not be able to leave them with my hubby as his work is very demanding and he is presently managing projects xyz for his employer. In order to reduce distractions while studing, I have pre-registered my children at xyz daycare and also requested the service of a maid to help out with the house old chourse....

Just be practical, show the VO u av taking care of the gray areas, show proof with documents, e.g. daycare part-payment receiepts or registration docs etc...

Finally, leave the rest in God's hands and hope for the best.

Many thanks.

Hi, could I trouble you for some advice?

I have admission for January and I want to apply with my (4) kids. People say I'm crazy for even considering that but these are some of the reasons why I think I can pull it off . ..

1. My husband is staying behind . .
2. I don't plan to travel immidiately, I plan to start my study online and continue working here, until the summer of next year.
3. PoF - 35kCAD in a Canadian Bank Grarantee certificate (Which I can only access when I arrive there); Payment of one year upfront school fees; evidence of continous (about 700k) earning between now and whenever I'm ready to relocate (Including 25% pension funds which I can access after I travel . . worth about 10kCAD).
4. Letter from my current employer stating that the degree will be an added advantage in my career prospects here in Nigeria after completion.
5. Travel history (3 of my kids were born in the US)

Of course I have the option of going first without my kids, and then requesting for them to join me later. But I will rather consider that as a Plan B.

So do you guys think I'm crazy?

Thank you.

I am getting an extra 4 million from my cousin but he will send it through my parent's account, that's a total of 7million which will cover for the 1 year PGD

With this, I don't need anybody's statement of account right?

You need a one year tuition fees plus $10,000cad living expenses for at least a year in your statement of account

Its not crazy and as a mother it shows you dont want to be away from your kids. Well . I would say dont take all of them at once but if you are insistent, you will also apply for day care schools for your kids thats if they are still young and include it in your visa application while your husband remains behind and acts as your hometies.

For the listed documents you have. I believe you are okay and good to go.

Thanks a lot . . . I never thought of splitting them with hubby . . . Maybe I should!

Reall grateful!

Please "Affidavit of Sponsorship and Letter of Sponsorship" Can we relate this to the same document or the sponsor must write a letter and also produce affidavit to support?. Please i need clarification on this so as not to flood the application with documents not needed. Thanks

I dont you are crazy at all. But how do you pull this off. I am in this boat too, confused as hell. Although I applied alone.

I am wondering what I will do?

Will I leave my 4 kids for months? How long? When do I get to bring them to Canada? Do I only get to apply only after arrival in Canada?

Someone should advice mothers with children. please

I beg to differ strongly; it is not an issue. All he or she needs is to convinve the VO in SOP why the change of course. Career shift is highly encouraged in this part of the world.

I just got my gcms notes (applied on the 25th of August. To be honest I expected this result while still hoping for the best. I have already deferred my admission to winter 2021 and I intend to repackage my application and reapply.

My question is there is a part where the wrote *do not finalize until biometrics is completed or a new letter is sent when VACs reopen* What letter are they referring to? Does this mean I still have hope of saving this application or should I just wait till they finalize and reapply again?

Thank you all for your anticipated assistance

No AIP, no medical request which was why I suspected I may have failed eligibility

Annettevoke:
SO SORRY ABOUT YOUR REFUSAL, but u stand a chance if u repackage well
Did u receive AIP
where u sent for medical?

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by Jesusrules24: 6:53am On Sep 16, 2020
As a mum, it is really difficult to imagine leaving ones children for a long period of time. So I understand why you want to apply with them.

I have seen a few people apply with their children and get the study permit, however, because of how the VO's are, you should aim to do everything to reduce the chances of a denial.

In my opinion, you should apply first without your kids and then apply for them later.

It is what I did.

I haven't yet gotten my study permit, but I have gotten AIP and medical request. I am trusting in God for the best/rest.

It's going to be a tough one for me because I cannot imagine going for long without my kids, but if it comes to that, then it's a sacrifice that would be worth it in the long run.

Applying with kids and getting study permit is possible, people do it.

But applying without them is just a way to improve your chances of success.

All the best in your application.

My good people of Nairaland, Calvary greetings to you all!

I have come again for your worthy advise as usual.

I am going for a 2yrs baccalaureate Diploma, commencing in Winter term, and I'm planning to submit my application for Study Permit anytime next month. But my worries are:

1. Whether 8m is adequate for proof fund

2. The said amount came into my accounts on 26th Aug (3m) and 2 Sept (5m), in two savings accounts I maintain in different banks. By the time I will submit my SP application, the funds would be barely a month and 2weeks in my account.

Please will it have negative implication on my application?

Note: My school didn't demand for any tuition deposit but I intend paying my first semester fees of about 2.2m (CAD7,660) and attach same to my Student Permit Application.

I will appreciate advise/suggestions on the above.

Thanks

Hello, please see my response to your questions:

1. Whether 8m would be enough is subject to your tuition and living cost. Where is your school? How much is rent for a year? How much is your tuition fee? You need to show the officer that you have enough funds to cover for at least a year, and you'll have extra left. Just don't give them any chance to think you would need a part-time job to survive.

2. You would need to have a strong SOP and explain how you got your entire POF in a space of one week. Has your account been having such inflow and outflow before now. I'd advise you convert those funds to Fixed Deposit of T-Bills.

Again, this is no guarantee, just an advice.

At this point, no final decision has been taken on this application meaning you might still have a
slim chance of saving the application. Seeing the vos comments, why no draft a letter defending all he has said while pointing his to evidence showing why he is wrong .If I were you I would try even though the chances are slim but its still a chance.

So i recieved my gcms notes last night.
Eligibility failed due to the reasons below.
My course of study is very close to my undergraduate degree, my previous employment is same with my choosen course of study, all my family members are here in Nigeria.

I wrote my SOP myself, I'm thinking now my SOP was poor though i felt i addressed all these issues on it.

I would like to reapply... if the guru's don't mind to help me out analyse this. Also If someone can share their SOP that was successful i would be grateful. My email is wirehay76@gmail.com.

Hi Chloe,

Sorry about your Brother's Refusal

From the GCM Text,

Its clear there is no Logical Progression & Career Progression

Since your Brother is employed as an Ass. Project Manager, why did your brother go for an Ordinary Diploma in Project Management instead of a PGD/PG.Cert in Project Management? This is what I feel made his Purpose of Study Vague

Cos from my own Point of View, a Visa Officer might have concluded that, your Brother would likely be aiming for a Promotion/Progression in that organization from an Ass. Project Manager to a Project Manager or Snr. Project Manager, thereby making a PGD/PG.Cert an Upgrade to his Career

You can also share his Profile (list the documents he submitted for this application) so members in house can know some other areas that caused the Refusal and give personalized advice

Thank you very much for your response. The program he applied for is actually a postgraduate certificate course. He said that while filling his SP forms that he was asked what certificate to be obtained after his study in Canada, but there was no postgraduate diploma on the option drop down on the forms, so he just selected the Diploma that was there since he was not going for a master's, PHD or a degree program. He clearly stated it on his LOA that he wanted to advance his career that and the company also said on there letter that he will be advance/promoted upon completion of his study because they are willing to retain him. He also said he didn't submit his ID card, bank statement or payslip because his payment was not regular and most at time his boss pay him from his own account.
