You won't suffer any data loss.

Just use this command:

fastboot flash recovery recovery.img and press enter.

Once done successfully, remove the phone and hold down your power button and volume up button same time. Once the phone goes off and on, release the power button while holding the volume up button.

If it boots to custom recovery, release the volume button. That's how. Meanwhile, be sure you are flashing the main custom recovery for your device.

2. HDR+ processing for phones with slower GPU takes time. So don't take alot of shots at once or better still reduce it to HDR instead of HDR+. You can ask itzeminence to share you his settings.

3. The only thing that doesn't work is Video. It is a problem R8 faces with a lot of Gcam Ports. You can as well try new Parrot Gcam Ports.

I HV a quick question bro.... after uninstall magisk through flashing magisk uninstaller to remove root access from Xiaomi pH, Nd root checker confirms no root access install on the phone...is the phone totally unrooted Nd is it safe to install factory update?

Not safe if you still have custom recovery or if you've removed a system app.

To return everything to normal, flash stock boot.img to remove the patched boot.img.

And try to flash stock recovery.img too if you still have custom recovery

Doesn't always work. To run OTA with a custom recovery, ill recommend you use Orange Fox (depends too). Message me on telegram: olayinkajnr

I was about to celebrate about how I just installed orangefox and i needed to know how to install the persist.img file.

I just tried to boot into recovery again and it's back to stock recovery. It worked a few moments, dunno what happened

After flashing the recovery from your PC, boot immediately into the recovery and flash the recovery from your phone as well.

Apparently, you'll need to flash magisk the first time you boot to orangefox. That way, the custom recovery won't leave.

You can also follow mathefaro's suggestions, works too.

For the persist.img, just open your fastboot rom, navigate to images and copy persist.img from the images folder to your SD card.

Boot to custom recovery, navigate to where you saved the persist.img, select it and select the persist partition and swipe to flash.

This will solve all issues with sensors, camera and any other issues.

Nothing complicated. Freezing and rebooting will stop.

Meanwhile, you can reflash the fastboot rom now and all issues will be gone.

The first mistake you made was not flashing persist.img before you flashed the fastboot rom.

Please the bolded is completely wrong. With custom recovery (ofox, pitch black) to be precise, you can run OTA without issues. You can Google how.

If you installed the magisk zip, you don't need flash anything else. You have root. And the second question, there's no problem at all.

Please... I updated my R7 to the latest update, was cool for some days, just yesterday my gestures stopped working (that is, if I want to slide from below to minimise).. when I switch back to the buttons features, the buttons don't work either.
