Yes i saw eligibility failed on the 3rd page, however app status - Open, App status reason - In Progress.

I believe is a must for VO's to give reason why i failed eligibility. kinda confusing anyways.

Anon123:

But you saw Eligibility failed?
if yes, we cant say much cos theres nothing to refer to. Some gcms notes dont have the vos statement, i dont know why. You can send a mail to inquire why.

When you reapplied, on your imm form filled , did you leave the UCI number section blank? If yes, thats why you are having a new number and its possible you might do another biometrics for this new UCI number (not sure but possible). You are meant to fill the immm form and include the old UCI number or your last application, thats the unique that carries the info about your previous application even tgr biometrics information. On your application portal, do you see a biometrics number there if not, den my assumptions of doing a biometrics is correct.

I did provide the old UCI in the applicatoion forms as requested. I submitted yesterday and paid only $150. I also quoted that I am reapplying

Point of Correction, prayer don't give people visa.

Can you share your profile?

You got Admission into TOP school in Canada? Can someone with a 3rd Class get Admission in a School like that? what about 2.2? or at best 2.1?

Can someone Who cannot afford a school of 6M , Can i Pray and apply to a school of 12M with an account balance of 5M, 3 Sponsors and no work experience?

You hear american say "GOD BLESS AMERICA"? Thats the last thing they say after they build technology, Build aircraft, Build Bombs, Submarines , build schools and build hospitals and everything that life requires to work.

After you are well prepared to tackle something, and you have played all necessary wings-of-play and there are no noticeable shortcomings , you Closed it up with prayer.

Advice to pray is what makes someone on this platform to want to go to Canada without being readily equipped (they will come with people who made it with nothing, but how many are they?)

I know someone who went to do Thanksgiving for getting a Canadian Visa .... i was at the lobby the same day with them at "VFS SHOPRITE ABUJA". the Wife is the regional Manager of one of the banks and the Husband is a General in the Army but they used Agents to package their Visa , they got the Visa and she later told me that they would have a Thanksgiving that Sunday. HOW on earth is that profile not going to get a Visa ? but they said it is God and i only Laughed. God has become shabby .

There is nothing supernatural about a Visa, A rejection may even be a Spiritual direction for you from condemnation (who is thinking).

My best advice is always , ...... Be well prepared , then do a prayer, Don't submit Rubbish and start praying.

I applied for my study permit sometime in September. Biometrics request and background check followed immediately.
I got Medical request in less than a week.
I should also mention that I got admission into two top schools (masters program) within record time.
I didn’t rely on how good my applications might look, but I held on to faith in God, that my case will be different.
When I applied for my study permit, I prayed that my application will not exceed 1month by Gods grace, not knowing it would take far less than a month.
Also for my admissions, I specified the week I would receive admission from the two schools. Lo and behold, the admissions came one day apart in that specific week. Nothing is impossible with God! This story is just tip of the iceberg of how powerfully I have experienced God.
All things are possible for anyone who has faith in God. Let’s always rely on God, I promise, people would think you are doing jazz...lol
Please I’m not saying don’t do the hard work oh, but don’t put your faith in your hard work. So many “perfect” applications have been rejected.
My final advice - don’t just pray, be specific in your prayers, it shows your level of faith before God.
Peace!

You should download the GetBarter or Wallets Africa app. If you really need to do this right now, I think you should use their virtual card service.

Although you will pay more compared to the bank rates but it's likely the only option you have for now. Else, you need a dollar card from your bank. It took me about 2 weeks to get mine from GTB, and it was before COVID19.

So friend, GetBarter or Wallets Africa are your best bet right now. But expect to pay between 450 - 490 per dollar sha. And it works!

Please can this also be used for tittuon fee payment?

GCMS notes.

Gurus, help explain...

I have reviewed the application. The application’s plan of studies appears vague and poorly documented. Intended studies do not appear reasonable given applicant’s gap from last studies, level of last studies and applicant’s employment experience. Taking the applicant’s plan of studies into account, the applicant does not appear to be sufficiently well established that the proposed studies would be a reasonable expense. Weighing the factors in this application, I am not satisfied that the applicant will depart Canada at the end of the period authorized for their stay. Eligibility failed, pending Biometrics.

I’ll appreciate a thorough explanation on what you think the VO is saying, if I can still salvage the situation as SP status still shows processing on portal...
1. Is he saying I do not have enough fund
2. Or no reason to study MBA project Mgt because I presently have MBA marketing
3. Or my work experience is not related to the new course
4. Can i state short courses done, to fill the 7 yrs study gap

Personal tips
I have 10yrs banking experience in customer service
1st degree – Engineering and MBA marketing

Timeline
Applied May 3
VO reviewed May 28 (as seen on notes)
Order GCMS Aug 28

Hello all, please I graduated with 2:2 from a Nigerian University in 2010, I was refused a student visa last year (PGD) now I'm thinking of continuing with a Master's program. Is it advisable to pursue a masters degree with a 2:2 or I should re-fire a PGD again. Than you for your advice.

You don't qualify for a Master's program with a 2.2. You've to reapply for your study Visa with a PGD program that is in tandem with your current employment or previous studies to demonstrate academic progression.

As a point to further strengthen your SOP you may imply that one of the reasons for choosing that program is to acquire the much need knowledge and apply it to your husband's business when you come back home on the completion of your program.
This would further clarify your purpose of visit

Hello People,

GCMS has landed o. (I applied August 28th, and it arrived today)

All but eligibility passed.

I need expert reviews. I have already started online classes. I won't stop!

I am positive about this. No turning back, no backing out now.

I am not sad at all.

Few things to note:

1. No solid study plan ( I thought I did a good job on that though - I need expert advice on that again)
2. No home ties (I used my siblings, i submitted our pictures together and their International passports and
national IDs.) I have an IT company and I submitted all required documents from HR and CAC. No landed property was submitted.
3 LOE was ok but I don't understand this VO ( I guess I need to repackage).
4. All tuition paid.
5. Plan on where to stay was attached; I already had a lease agreement for 1 year
6. Showed enough funds.
7. Single
8. Course of study: Petroleum Engineering (
9. First degree: Elect / Elect
10. Years of experience 10years (In IT - software development):
Reason for petroleum engineering - I have done IT/Software projects with Oil and Gas companies where I mixed my IT and Electrical engineer qualifications throughout. For about 3-5 years in that. I explained this in my LOE and how it relates to my future career path.

GCMS Note: (It was about 25 pages...I kind of appreciate the work these people do o. They actually verify a lot of things we ignore. They validated all my trips and even contacted school and all. I give them kudos.

Please advise on how to repackage. I want to reapply ASAP after addressing the major issues.

Egbons and gurus. I am on stanby for your assistance.

I have two questions though:

1. Should I still apply with Petroleum engineering or get Electrical Engineering / Any IT related course ( I have skills in AI, I already have a Udacity Nanodegree in that - not worth going for that....)
2. What else do I need to do about the home ties?

@fratermarty, @Anon123, @Osemigho, @frankbone1 ,@Akannimony and others, make una show please..

Thank you.

Sorry about your refusal..,

Na the Same VO reject You?

HAs nothing to do with VO,...

I noticed that some applications can also Appear "OVER-ZEALOUS"

You will hear people say they attached a Picture of Their "LANDED PROPERTY"(why now?)....

They Attached the Picture of their Grandfather that Sent them money and they also added his Passport...

Take this advice from me today, Be economical with documents ,... eventually if rejected it will fall around that reason!

I have not seen a GCMNOTE that says,....."applicant talked about "this and that" but there was no correspondence or recommendation"....

If you see this on your Notes, Your next application is an Approval!

I read the entire article. It appears that the conversation on how to welcome international students in this pandemic situation is currently ongoing. It's good that they have a figure now. I had suspected that one of the purposes of the AIP was for IRCC to have a figure that they can work with when thinking of allowing international students back in.

Canada’s immigration minister: 56,000 study permits approved in first stage
Canada's immigration minister Marco Mendicino provided an international student update on September 22, 2020.

Marco Mendicino provided an update
Canada's immigration minister Marco Mendicino provided an international student update on September 22, 2020.

Immigration minister Marco Mendicino provided an international student update during a webinar today.

He made two notable revelations.

Mendicino stated that Canada has already issued 56,000 first stage approvals for study permit applications.

Secondly, as previously reported by CIC News, the minister confirmed that the federal government, led by Health Canada, continues to work with designated learning institutions to identify how they can physically welcome international students onto their campuses during the coronavirus pandemic.

According to Mendicino, Minister Patty Hajdu is working to ensure each designated learning institution (DLI) has met the public health requirements of the province and territory they are located. This approach will protect health and safety of international students and Canadian students.

DLIs are universities, colleges, and other educational institutions that have obtained federal and provincial government approval to welcome international students.

Get help with your study or work permit

Some DLIs have indicated an interest in welcoming international students during the pandemic. However, due to Canada’s travel restrictions, most international students are currently unable to travel to the country.

The discussions between Health Canada, provinces, territories, and DLIs are aimed at identifying whether DLIs can safely form quarantine and socially distancing plans that would enable them to potentially welcome international students in the coming months. Under Canadian law, most travelers must quarantine for 14 days immediately upon arriving to Canada. Moreover, provinces and territories across Canada have strict social distancing measures in place to help contain the spread of COVID-19, although Canada’s coronavirus case tally has been increasing significantly in recent weeks.

In the meantime, Canada has announced a number of major policy reforms to enable international students to pursue their Canadian studies amid the pandemic. Among the reforms, Canada announced a two-step study permit process in the summer to give students certainty so they can begin their studies while overseas.

In addition, international students can study online while overseas but still be able to work in Canada under a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) once the pandemic is over.

The minister revealed that 56,000 international students have been approved for a study permit under stage one so far. This means that Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has provided students with approval after reviewing each applicant’s letter of acceptance from a DLI, proof of funds that they can support themselves and their studies financially, among other criteria.

Once the students are able to travel to Canada, they need to complete a medical exam, criminal background check, and biometrics in order to get stage two study permit approval.

Mendicino delivered the remarks during a webinar hosted by the Canadian International Council, which is an organization that brings Canadians together to explore foreign affairs issues.

Mendicino made sure to affirm Canada’s ongoing commitment to welcoming immigrants, international students, and global talent in general.

“I steadfastly believe that immigration will play a vital role in our economy, as it has in recent years.”
